First, I was visiting with a friend in the greater Cleveland area and we needed to get some shredding done. It would never occur to me that a place exists just for that. Well, I am so glad i was wrong. It was much more than that. Let's begin with the entrance. It was snowing and very unpleasant outside. The customer service person CAME OUTSIDE to greet us with the such a fun, happy tone. How could ANYONE do that in this weather?! The representative demonstrated such knowledge of the process and what to expect. She provided us with a tour! How could anyone be that excited about shredding?! The experience was FAST! You can actually watch it take place. There is also something of a speakeasy without the liquor (it was too early for us to get such a drink) at this place. The room is completely zen, with beautifully kept interior. We could not have been there more than 7 minutes and it was done. Shred-it...Forget it!!! Things started off well enough. I…read morecontacted the sales department, got a quote and service agreement which was returned to Shred-it the next day. A few days later I got a call telling(not asking) me that they would be out the following Thursday. I informed them that that day wouldn't work and suggested the next day. I was told the trucks wouldn't be in our area and that we would have to reschedule. The Monday of the original pick up week, I got a call from Terry stating they could come on Friday after all. Friday came but Shred-it didn't. When we called to find out what happened nobody at Shred-it could give us an answer. We rescheduled for Monday. On Monday, fifteen minutes before closing, the Shred-it driver showed up, looked at the boxes asked about our elevator and left saying " I'll be right back" We never saw him again! Concerned for the driver, we called and again nobody had a clue. Terry promised a call back with an answer right away. After no call in two days we called again and were told the driver felt the elevator was too small. Why didn't the driver inform us that he couldn't do the job? Why didn't dispatch have a clue? How could the elevator be too small if it was able to fit an entire office including three large desks, several large lateral filing cabinets a full sized copy machine, a love seat......and.......wait for it....................the same boxes we now wanted shredded? Save yourself time and energy by going elsewhere. Oh and Shred-it please don't offer me a lame apology and ask me to call an 800 number. My time is better spent elsewhere.
