The glass door between the lobby and The counter is covered with old signs and lots of tape and stickers that have been peeled off partway. It is almost 2020, and there is a big sign about their 2010 holiday hours still clinging to that door. The dropbox outside is about to fall apart from rust. The pens are stuck to the counter with a nest of tangled and dirty packing tape. The whole place has a creepy, "post office that time forgot" feeling. This office does not have a postmaster general working at it. This meant that I was not allowed to mail an aerosol can of hairspray from this location, but had to go to the bigger Bridgewater post office where there is a postmaster general to get special permission to mail hairspray. I have never had a problem with any of the employees here. They have always been calm, and polite, and explained things to me clearly. The parking situation is convenient, as is the access right off of Route 22. The lobby area with the post office boxes is clean. It is in the same building as a Quick Chek.

It feels like they nickel-and-dime customers for the smallest things rather than providing basic service. This kind of treatment is incredibly frustrating and comes across as poor customer service. A few years ago, I had to fax documents over to a potential employer, and I chose to use the Staples store in Chester, NJ. My experience there was an exercise in frustration, and it was expensive to boot (I left a 2-star review on Yelp; they subsequently closed-- not that I take any pleasure in that, but it came as no big surprise...and I'm sure my 2-star review had nothing to do with it!). Pissed off, exasperated, I decided to use the UPS Store instead. The store clerk quickly and efficiently faxed my documents over to where they needed to go, and it was substantially less expensive than the Staples had been. A week or so ago, I ordered a photo album from Amazon for $30. It arrived quickly, minus the pages necessary to mount photos. Sort of comparable to ordering a record album with no actual record inside. In order to get a refund, I was told to print out the "refund" page they sent to me, take it over to the nearest UPS store, and they would process my refund. Seemed like a cumbersome, annoying way for me to get my money back for their f*ck-up, but I didn't have the patience or time to dispute the procedure with Amazon (although my Yelp entries don't always indicate it, I DO have a life), and I don't have enough discretionary income that I can just kiss off $30. So...I printed out the page, and brought it to this UPS store, which is not far from where I live, along with the page-less album in its cardboard box. There was a line of 2 or 3 people, but the line moved quickly. Less than 5 minutes after entering the store, the process was completed, and my money had been refunded. They kept the album; I walked out with the empty cardboard box. As I've said, my reasons for utilizing their services are few and far between, but when I've had to utilize said services, I've never had any cause for complaint.
