Been going to this store for several years. Always been treated nicely, never any incidents with packaging or shipping.

Moody-Connolly Funeral Home - Memories Of Love

    Moody-Connolly Funeral Home

Moody-Connolly treated my husband with such care and tenderness as if he were a member of their family. The professional yet personal demeanor of the staff was so very much appreciated throughout his transport from our home to the very last moment upon entering the crematorium. The staff gave me time to spend with my Frank - as if our last minutes were just as important to them. They stood at a quiet respectful distance from us as I said my last words to him. I told them I was ready and they came up to me as we closed the casket and transported him for his cremation. John Monteith allowed me to participate in my husband's cremation as I had requested. I cannot explain how very much this meant to me. We did everything in life together and it was as comforting and appropriate as anything I could ask. The attendants were very gracious and spoke soft kind words as I turned away to leave. I know there could not have been a Funeral Home to carry out my request so respectfully. (Especially during the time Hurricane Helene was expected in the next few hours). I will always remember. The memory is precious because of the personal care all at Moody-Connolly provided for us. We had everything signed in our pre-need arrangements which assisted in making for peaceful arrangements. We had even picked out urns for both of us. Maybe others would think it not necessary but with pre-need planning we could make these kind of decisions and having matching urns was important to us. As you must know in reading this review, I can recommend Moody-Connolly Funeral Home to any family desiring the best for friends or loved ones. I will be eternally grateful to them.

Exceptional Service from Suburban Propane During Hurricane Recovery…read more Like many in the mountains of western North Carolina, we felt the effects of Hurricane Helene on the morning of September 27, 2024. When the power went out, our propane-powered generators jumped into action, keeping both our home and my elderly mother's house next door running smoothly. Since our homes rely on propane not just for backup power but for everyday needs, it quickly became clear that we'd need to refill our tanks. To add to the challenge, we lost our water supply two days later, which only made the situation more stressful. We reached out to our current gas provider, who reassured us they were prioritizing customers based on urgency--emergencies, medical needs, and age--and scheduled us for the following week. To stretch out what little propane we had left, we ran the generators for just one hour every eight hours. But after several days, my mother's generator shut off, and my husband had to visit the gas company in person first thing that morning. They promised to be there within the hour due to her age, but no one ever came. After lunch, he went back again, and we were reassured they'd arrive before the day was over. Still, nothing. Had they just been upfront with us, we could've saved my mother's food by moving it into ice chests. But, unfortunately, everything spoiled. That's when we discovered Suburban Propane, thanks to a few recommendations, and they were truly a lifesaver! Lou was incredible--he really went above and beyond, despite everything they were juggling in the storm's aftermath. Even though one of their propane trucks had broken down, they still managed to bring my mother a temporary tank with 300 gallons of propane to keep her going until they could make a full delivery. Later that same day, they filled my mother's permanent tank, and by the next day, they had swapped out our old tank for a brand-new 500-gallon tank and filled it up. Everything was running perfectly! Meanwhile, throughout the entire process of switching over to Suburban Propane, our previous gas provider never showed up--no call, no appearance, absolutely nothing. It's been nearly two weeks now, and we've still heard nothing--no apology, no explanation. I can't thank Will, the technician, enough for everything he did. He was so attentive, coming back several times to make sure everything was running smoothly and taking care of any little issues that popped up. Both Will and Lou made us feel like we were their only customers, which was such a relief, especially in the middle of a natural disaster! Plus, they made it so easy to stay in touch, giving us their cell phone numbers so we could reach them anytime. Suburban Propane has been phenomenal, and I truly can't recommend them enough! Their service during such a stressful time was a reminder that we have great options in this area. If you're looking for local, personal, reliable service, you won't be disappointed with Suburban Propane!
