I've been to this location several times and I've always had a great experience. I too agree that the rating here on Yelp is very unfair. Today I had to return a very heavy air conditioner to Amazon and walked in and asked if they could help me get it out of the car. There was zero hesitation and the person I was speaking to ran for the hand truck and lifted the AC out of the back of the car. It may not sound like much but with customer service I feel at an all time low, I really appreciated this assistance. Once we got back inside the rest of the transaction took about a minute. I needed to have some documents notarized the other day and when we arrived there was a sign stating appointments recommended. We did not have an appointment but Alex, who I assume was the manager was extremely accommodating. Another gentleman working was having trouble completing a procedure he had never done before and she was trying to coach him as well as help us all while the store kept getting busier and busier. Gave me a quote of $160 . Went there the next week with my package to be shipped in the quote turned out to be five hundred and seventy three dollars . I stood there and argued for 15 minutes with her while people waited in line. Never again UPS . FedEx all the way! read more

When I saw this place had such an unfair rating on Yelp, I figured I better write something to counter some of the BS claims I see on here. I've been a customer of this store for over three years. I signed up for a mailbox after $500 worth of important medicine sent from a mail order pharmacy was stolen off my door step. I never wanted to worry about getting deliveries again and since I've signed up with this location - I haven't. The yearly price might seem steep to some but it's worth it for the peace of mind. Package thieves are getting bolder and bolder every year and your little doorbell camera isn't going to dissuade them. Amazon lockers aren't helpful if you're away on vacation or can't get to them within three days. I've been treated very well by both the original and current owners of this store. The current employees are helpful and polite - especially the current owner AND his sons. They treat me and my wife with respect and when we have a large amount of packages or something heavy, they always offer to help us carry it to our car. There have been numerous times when we've been unable to pick up our packages for seven days or sometimes later. Company policy says they're supposed to charge us for storage but they never have. And when renewal time comes up, there's no pressure to get me to stay. Most importantly, in three years they've never lost or misplaced a package and I have sent hundreds of them to this location. Just about every Amazon order I've made since 2017 has come through their store - small boxes and huge ones. And they've handled them all without complaint. I have complete confidence in this store and its staff and could not be more pleased as a customer. read more

Super helpful and friendly staff. I had to send back 2 packages and in less than 2 minutes everything was all set and ready to go. Super easy and fast. The store also have a very easy access from the turnpike and a big parking lot. read more

If you want your packages lost.... this is the place to go! Two packages of mine never made it to their destination. Shipped on different days too. Something doesn't seem right at this location. The response from the clerk was... "it's not our fault, there is nothing we can do". Horrible customer service. read more

UPS lets you schedule notary services online, but they don't actually have a notary in the store. The guys working there told me they had no idea there was an appointment, because they had yet to check their email that day (it was 2pm). This is consistent with my past dealings with this UPS store. It's sloppy and mismanaged. I try to use FEDEX whenever I can. They're much more professional. read more

I like this store and it's close by. They have a lot of shipping options and it's a good place to drop off Amazon returns for no charge. A couple of things that could be upgraded to make it a better business. Please have one or two people on staff who are licensed notaries. If you advertise that as one of your services, there should be someone at the store when it's open to do that service. Also, the staff needs to be more customer focused.I have literally been in the store when the employees have made cutting remarks about customers. There's no need for that and it shows a lack of professionalism. I'm happy to pay the premium price for shipping services but treat me and your customers with more respect. read more

this team was absolutely amazing. please recognize them as one of the best locations for amazon customers in the ct area. i want to thank them for the excellent service they provided me this evening (4/24/19). i live about 15 miles from their store. i had to go there because i had a return that i had to get back to amazon immediately. believe it or not, they are the only location in the greater hartford area that stays open 7:30pm. note: there system shouts down at 7:20 so call them if you are on your way because i did and guess what people...they printed my emailed information and waited for me to get there until 7:27pm how's that for service!!! in the future, because of this outstanding customer support no matter what time of day it is, what i'm sending, or where my package is going, they have earned my support. because of the way they treated me, i now call this my ups store. thank you again mr. kong and your excellent staff!!! fyi: young ladies, they are all hotties!!! you too mr. kong...lol!!! don't forget to call them and email your information to: store6524@theupsstore.com l.m. hammer amazon prime customer hartford, ct read more

I am extremely disappointed with this store. I had a Poshmark package that was delivered to this store and never made it to the person who purchased it. The individual who answered the phone said there was nothing she could do. They blamed it on everyone however the package was last seen at their store. I will never go to this store again and I will advise the others the same. read more

This review is long overdue! I went to UPS the week of Christmas to mail out 5 packages to different parts of the country. The packages were of different weights and sizes, and had less than a week to make it to their destinations. I was made aware that at this location, (maybe all, not sure) you could mail things out by UPS OR USPS and they provide you with the prices of what it would cost to mail it out both ways. Well, what do you know at UPS, somehow, amazingly, the UPS prices were cheaper (albeit still astronomical) however the gifts would not make it to their destinations by Christmas. It was after the post office closed, and I knew I was running out of time and wanted these kids to get the gifts, so I mailed 3 of the 5 as I was not going to pay more for shipping than the gifts were worth. So, the next day I went to the Newington post office and mailed the 2 remaining gifts, for much lower than any price I was quoted at UPS, AND the gifts would be delivered by Christmas. If only I wasn't naive in my desperation the other 3 gifts could have been mailed for less and arrived at their destinations on time. Lesson learned; never again! Stick with the good old USPS and save yourself lots of cash and headaches! Oh, staff wasn't very friendly either; I know it was the holiday season, but if this is what you do for work then you are well aware that this is the busy season so don't do customer service if you're not cut out for it! read more

Had to ship a bed back to QVC today. Went in looking for some big boxes. Told the employees what I had. Told them how many pieces there were and how many boxes they had, when CVS shipped it to me. Asked for an estimate on what it would cost just for them to box it up for me. Got a quote of $120.00.. Agreed to that price although I thought that was still a little high. Went out and rented a truck and brought the bed to this UPS location. Unloaded the bed into the store. Then the ? Manager, told me it would be more than triple the price that he quoted me ($372). I had no option but to pay it. They are a bunch of crooks. You quote a price , then that a deal. I will never shop in this UPS again. They were not professional, just a bunch of young kids sitting around.. Be smart, stay away... read more

Very strange & disappointing experience when I visited this store to print prepaid label for shipment. This store has really old & defective desktop computers. Even they does not recognize basic USB drive and PDF files. Top of it worst customer service. It appears that those front desk folks use these computers for unwanted purpose. In fact they look like as 2000's desktops. Never visit this store for printing or computer related services. Better visit Staples nearby who has UPS desk. I wonder if UPS has any quality standard for their stores. read more
