Service so good everybody working there so helpful and nice never had issues or problems with anything

I ran to this store because I had a package to return. I got there (like many others) About 40 min before they Closed. I had what I got from the vendor scanned by the guy at the counter. It wasn't the right thing. He politely told me I'd have to go back online and try again. I was determined not to have to make another trip and sat in my car struggling with the website, Changed my password 3 times--no fun. Finally, a bit harried, I went back into the store with my open box. "Thome" who had helped me before, kindly took the box, taped it up for me and printed the label for me as well! He did all of this when some places employees would be more concerned about getting out on time than giving great service. Thanks so much Thome!! You're a cool guy and you're going places!! Staff is friendly and extremely helpful. The lines get long but they move fast. (and if they don't, it's because they're politely waiting for the customer because they didn't have their stuff ready when they walked up) But anyways, they go above and beyond to help point you in the right direction. Today's experience was a great one... - Greeted immediately on the way in - Friendly and available as soon as I got to the counter - Patient as I needed to pull up my Amazon return codes - Quick processing of items (I had three) - Offered a receipt and tracking - Didn't have me sit there to watch them pack the items - In and out in 3 min (or less) In the past it has been a grueling experience with long waits and confusing processes. I came here for an Amazon return and the whole process was very convenient. As soon as I came in I was greeted and immediately helped by a staff member. There was one other staff member helping another customer. The process to return my item took literally 30 seconds. I appreciate this easy way to return items without having to ship the item back in the mail. The area around store can get busy since it's surrounded by other stores and near the cross section of Randall Road and Algonquin Road, but there was still plenty of parking available on a weekday evening. read more

Every year, I host a toy drive. Not wanting to give my address out to the world, I enlist the help of a personal mailbox at this UPS store. The staff at this location is very friendly. Occasionally, I'll walk in and they'll recognize me and my mailbox number right off the bat. They've also never caused any drama with the fact that I am renting a small box, meant for letters, when I do occasionally receive packages or larger parcels. When a package arrives, they can usually find it very quickly. And when I accidentally dropped my key in JUST the wrong (or right) spot for it to get stuck between my car's drivers seat and shoulder rest, they were very kind to offer me a second key. A nice perk of their mail boxes is that they alert you to when you get a package. I like knowing that there's something bigger than a letter waiting for me! Located next to the Baskin Robbins and right off of Algonquin Rd, the location is convenient (when there's not construction on Randall or Algonquin). Being in a strip mall, the parking is ample. I usually park in the big lot, which makes for a bit of walking, but there's a narrow strip of spots right next to the UPS store for those who don't mind the narrowness. My main concern with the UPS Store is that it seems that the price of the box goes up every year I rent one. That, or the minimum you can have a box is longer than I had the year before. However, I'll take this over a USPS box any day. read more

If you want to go to a place that will know your name, treat you like family and make you feel like an actual person and not a number- go here! This ups store has always been kind and considerate to all of their customers. Zack who works there is an all star team player! I was there on Christmas Eve and someone was dropping off coffees to their entire staff and it was only him there. He asked if I wanter one because he was the only employee working that day. Busy time of year! 8 people in line when I arrived. Out and back in the car in less than 5 minutes. Just sending a box but it looks like they have a range of services. Parking is somewhat limited due to the other businesses in this strip mall but it is easy to find and close to Randall Road. Gentlemen was friendly and helpful. As a selected carrier for Amazon, you shouldn't be charging customers to print out shipping labels when they didn't realize Amazon didn't send a QR code! None of the other UPS stores in the area does this but here. Terrible customer service! read more

This place is the reason they need negative stars. Not only are they completely incompetent they are rude and actually offensive to any poor suckers (Customers) that are unlucky enough to come in. I came in for a simple mailbox here. It took almost 45 minutes to get it set up while the person ringing me up fumbled with the computer. No key and it was so confusing, he actually never returned my License and ID. I was very patient and understanding as this went on, even trying to balance watching my 4 year old as he waited with me. I came back after the holiday to the rudest and angriest employee I have ever encountered. I told her about my ID and she retrieved them and literally through them across the counter at me. Then I asked her for the Key (where she was snapping at me if it was a PO Box or Mailbox - not like the number should clue her rocket scientist brain in) and that of course was not there. Lastly I provided my Articles of Incorporation to add my business name, and then she lost her mind. Employee of the Year then yelled at me for why I set it up as a Personal Account (not business) and got over the top upset. I of course did not set it up this way (I provided the business info and materials at the chaotic set up) and said I had a enough. I stormed out ... just could not take anymore abuse after this series of f'ups. This place has worse customer service than the worst fast food place. No one seems to want to work there ... and customers just irritate them. Stay FAR away and let this place close down. I struggled to get a refund for the fee I paid, and have no interest in ever returning again. read more

I went into here by happenstance to see if they made copies. They do, thank goodness because after several disastrous and disappointing days of dealing with Office Depot, this place surprised me. Friendly helpful and when they made my copies they cut them at no additional charge. I almost cried because this saved me soooo much time. I wish I would have brought my stuff to them earlier. I mostly only go to this location to drop off items that have UPS pre-printed-shipping labels...I much prefer USPS, as a rule. When I drop off, the staff always seems put out, but not "rude", perse...but wait... On three different occasions, I've taken items to send and I always regret it. The staff is so arrogant and the fake-bake (seriously George Hamilton is his role model) manager/owner about lost his mind when I let him know that USPS was quicker and cheaper. He insisted that wasn't the case, talked about the $100 worth of insurance that I'd get for FREE (he kept saying it like that as well...FREE!!!!!). I told him that had it not been snowing and rush hour, I'd be down the road at the post office....the price he charged me to send a very small envelope/package to the neighboring state was $12. $12 and it "should" get there within 5 business days. Rip-off. Completely and utterly. Add to that, the lack of customer service and I'll happily wait in line for a harried clerk at USPS any ole' time. Seriously, go elsewhere...6 separate reviews can't be too far off...! read more

I was a long time customer at this store. I mailed a package for my daughter's birthday back in OCTOBER. The package was delivered slit open and empty. NOT damaged. They even took her birthday card out I am sure looking for money. I did everything I was suppose to do. I was told my claim would take about 6 weeks at the most. We had pictures, we had invoices, we even returned the slit open mailer envelope. I replaced my daughter's present at my expense because now it is FEBRUARY and I still have not been compensated for my losses, the shipping, the mailer, the card, the presents, NOTHING. I was told this week that UPS now thinks they might have found some her products and will try to deliver them. ?? What ?? Someone stole them and this is expensive makeup and you think we would use it now?? Plus I already at my expense replaced the present so I am out double money Now??? The manager Patrick tells me because he is privately owned I can not go directly to UPS with this. Warning! DO NOT USE UPS STORES since they do not take responsibility for their business and then tell you, you can not contact UPS directly. This is outrageous. I went in to ship a parcel to California. There was only one other customer finishing up in line in front of me. When I was served, the associate quickly and expertly typed in the address information that I had provided. I asked to get my email address in as well for tracking and notification, and this was done in a flash. Yes, it cost a little more than USPS would have done, but in return for that I got the ability to track that parcel from office to office right across the USA. The store was neat and clean, and the service quick and business like. They gave me a supply of shipping forms to fill in in advance to make things go quicker next time. I would give this store a zero if I could. I was returning some equipment to the manufacturer and HAD to use the UPS store as instructed. The owner couldn't pull up the account on his computer. The whole time he kept yelling at me that I didn't know my account number. Then one of his employees tried to enter the account number. The owner yelled at him he was entering too many numbers. At that point, I said I would take my business to another UPS store. He proceeded to yell at me more, accusing me of not being nice to him. He even said I (the customer) was condescending to him. The owner was beyond rude. Calling customer names is unacceptable. This whole ordeal was BS and I told him so. I took my business to the other UPS store on Huntley Road (by Randall) and had the best service. The owner was super nice and very informative. During the brief period I lived in Algonquin I shipped a few packages from this store. The employees were a lot more friendly and helpful than this crabby guy that worked at the one on Diversey in Lincoln Park. I think that store is closed now, probably because that guy was always in such a bad mood. Anyway, I never had any problems at this store and there is parking. read more

I occasionally need to have things sent from my parents house in Crystal Lake to myself out in Washington State. I know it's a long distance and all, but when I ask the UPS store in town here how much an item will cost to ship from here to my parents, the cost is always much cheaper than this store. I'm not sure what it is, whether it's just price gouging from the owner or what. Golf club quote from UPS here, $87, cost to ship from this store, $120. Christmas present that cost Amazon nothing to ship to my parents (less than a pound in weight, not larger than a college text book in size) $28 to ship from this store, and takes 2 weeks to arrive. I've been told from people who live in the area and have used this store that they will literally drive the extra distance to go to ANY OTHER UPS store just so that the shipping will be cheaper. Go anywhere else for shipping. Anywhere else. read more
