Can not believe how terrible the service was on 6/5/2024. Arrived around 3pm sat at bar not bust at all. Took bartender forever to notice us and she seemed annoyed we wanted to order drinks and food. Then more friends showed up about 345pm so we moved our group to a large table paid our tab at bar. Asked to be served and were told she was not in that section for 15min So we tried to go up to bar and order but bartender didn't want to serve us because we weren't at bar. Hardly anyone in the place but servers standing around doing nothing except talking to eachother. We waited and asked several times but nobody came to wait on us for over 40min....so irritating. We had 10 more friends to join us for our weekly hh but walked out and went to Pedal Haus in within 10 min had beers on our table! read more

First time visiting The Uncommon. The overall aesthetic was fun and inviting. The staff was great. They had super cool decor that brought you back to the 80/90's. The drinks had silly names and made it fun to order. Our waitress told us that we could leave our table and go play games while we waited for our drinks and food. Super awesome! Wish we knew we had to bring quarters though! Maybe next time. We got the Brie and pita and it was AMAZING. I could've just had their pita bread and been fine! Husband ordered the burger with kimchi and really liked it. Unfortunately they had sold out of the chicken, so I ended up ordering the meatballs. They were delicious! Definitely recommend. Wow, worst experice I think I have ever had. From the start the hostess was unfriendly and told us it was going to be an hour wait. No problem we found a seat at the bar had a couple of drinks and aftet an hour and a half I asked the hostess for an approximate time and she would only told me how many people were in front of me. I waited another 25 minutes and asked again how long and had another employee start clapping in my face. Spoke to the manager and he really didnt have anything to say. If you like and expect good service dont go here. If you watched an Instagram reel showing what the place is like do not believe it. Severely disappointed. Was our first experience at this place, so we tried it on the go rather than going to same places. Hunter was our waiter, great service I would say. Plenty of jokes and recommendations of what we should try and drink. Atmosphere was pleasant and surprisingly not too loud. We loved the music and the food was delicious. First things first, tonight was a little busy due to the fact that it was NYE '24 so keep that in mind while reading the review. I ordered the spinach dip and that was great, it came with tortilla chips and pita slices! It came out at the same time as the pizza but was ordered at the same time as pizza. The water was not potable in my opinion, the water had a very unfamiliar taste but the other people at my table all agreed it was safe to assume that we shouldn't consume it. The soda was fine. The pizza I had was called "mashed" this is due to the fact that instead of sauce, those pizza uses mashed potatoes as the base layer. I added mushrooms because I love me some mushies! The pizza was delicious at the table and at home where I devoured the left overs later the next day! I definitely say try this place out if you like pizza and want something a little uncommon. Definitely order something with alcohol or carbon when choosing a beverage. OH! Also, they have a few arcade games around the establishment that they give you a card to swipe and play most of the games. The ones that the card doesn't access can be purchased to play! read more

I have a severe allergy to MSG. We asked our server if the turkey wrap had MSG in it. He went to the kitchen and came back in just a few minutes stating it was in everything, including the tomatoes and tortillas. After living with this allergy for years I can tell you, tortillas and tomatoes definitely do not have MSG. Clearly, they didn't want to be bothered ! Beware if you have food allergies! read more

We wanted to try Serrano's next door but they were closed. We found The Uncommon and had the best Mushroom Swiss burgers and fries! We felt so welcomed since we got there and had an awesome waitress named Chrystal. The whole staff was great and cared enough to turn the heaters on for us because we chose to sit outside to enjoy the Chandler view. It's rare to find people who like their job but, our waitress and staff showed they do. We will be back! read more

They sold us $100 worth of drinks when we walked in, and 3 minutes later said finish your drinks, we need you to get out- we're closed. Yelp says 1am close, and it was 12:11am. My friends and I visited this bar as a place to play games and have some drinks. After spending quite a bit of money we were rushed to finish our game card and go into the bar to finish our drinks. We sat at a booth finishing up our drinks when we were approached by the bartender to finish up our drinks and get out. We told him we were under the impression the bar didn't close until 1:00 and he said not tonight the GM said close right now and get everyone out. Needless to say we won't be returning. Loved this place!! Went with our kids who had a blast in the arcade. Food was excellent.

The fried chicken sandwich was done very well. It could use a honey mustard sauce or something. The server was very helpful and did a good job. The pretzels were good that came with beer cheese however you couldn't taste the beer in the cheese at all. Second visit the other night after only stopping in for one drink the first night. We gave it another shot after a long wait at the bar after ordering (20 minutes for 3 two recipe mixed drinks and a bottled beer). The second visit was much better and we had some food this visit as well. I don't recall the name of the sandwich but it was the knock off version of the "fish sandwich you get at the Golden Arches place" if that makes sense. It was good but they forgot the sauce for it and I had to ask. My fiancé had the smoked salmon sandwich and it was really good too. Overall great atmosphere, good food, good drinks. I'm still trying to figure out why the 80s theme and not an 80s cover band on the weekend but in either case the live music was fun. The food was to die for. I had an enchilada omelette that came with buttered toast and cheesy potatoes and let me tell you- I was in heaven. Even the drinks were amazing, great mixologists over there. Our server was super attentive, patient, and constantly came over just to see how we were doing. She was kind, and didn't mind recommending good food items (which she was right about like I said the food was good enough to commit a crime). The whole vibe of The Uncommon is so unique and shows how special of a nook it is. Arcade machines, quirky yet well placed decor, classic posters adorning the walls all over. Our bill was even given to us in a Beetlejuice DVD case, which I thought was adorable and a perfect little cherry on top to fit the theming. All in all, would come back again anytime, and I recommend to anyone looking for a casual place to drink, play games, and be merry. (P.S. great place for a first date too ;) ) read more

Interesting place. Very friendly bartenders. Bar was not wiped down before we sat down from previous guests and remained that way throughout the stay. Ordered wings with bbq sauce. Was a little surprised when they arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. That usually means we got reheated wings that were cooked earlier or the day before. And they tasted like they had been reheated and we did not finish them. I bet they are amazing when fresh. We had planned to eat dinner there, but after tasting the wings we decided to go elsewhere to eat a meal. Would go back for drinks. If I could 0 star I would. My worst experience ever at any restaurant. I walked in and seated myself as the sign directed. After over 10 minutes I was asked if I wanted a drink. 5 minutes later the server drops it off and is gone in a flash. Another 10 minutes goes by before I can flag another server down for a menu. Another 15 minutes goes by and I'm ready to leave. I go to walk out, and decide to just let the bartender know what happened. He flags down a manager and says "this guys having issues ordering". Manager basically pushes me back to my seat, never asks what happened, never apologizes, just asks what I want and if I'drather sit somewhere else. I say I want "wings, medium" and point to exactly that on the menu. He asks "what do you mean? Like medium BBQ?" There is no medium BBQ wings on this menu. I correct him and hes gone. The first server who brought my drink who wasn't even over seeing my section, came and apologized. I get my food 20 minutes later (which was amazing. Really is the best wings I have had in all of Phoenix), eat quickly and ask for the check. I am ready to write a note on the check about how awful that manager is and that be it. But then I get my check and there is a 30% off line and no soda bringing my total to 11.47. I thought well if he can't be bothered to ask what is wrong or even use the words "I'm sorry" at least the manager gave me a discount, fair enough. I get my card back and they ran it for the full amount of the bill, no discount, soda back on. I call the manager back over and he is perplexed at why I would be upset, and tells me that his servers lied and said I waved them off. When I walked in I was starving and knew exaclty what I wanted, the only reason I asked for a menu was to see if they also had something else. Then he argued that it wasn't a big deal they gave me a check that said $11.47 and then charged my card for over $20because that's what I ordered. Sir, I tried to leave and you literally put your arm around me and guided me back to my seat. In the end the employees who were at the door as I walked out refused to give me the managers name so I can't tell you who it is. He claimed to be the GM but I find that very hard to believe considering he had no customer service skills whatsoever or knowledge of what wings, medium means in a bar. Just to recap, not my server with backwards floral hat, thanks for being the only person in this building with even half an iota of sense when it comes to customer service and apologizing. To my server, the tiny dark haired girl, why be so dishonest? Why lie that I waved you off? Why give me a check that says one thing and then charge me another? Thats called stealing. The vibe is awesome! I enjoyed the games and all the decor. We were there late afternoon on a weekday, so not to busy. The service was great! The portion size was good however the prices seemed a bit high. Maybe inflation? I feel like there could be some additional options on the menu for picky eaters. The menu is fairly small for a larger restaurant. We had the Reuben, fish and chips and a burger. As I mentioned earlier, it all tasted good but three meals and two beers was around $100. read more
