I don't think I can say enough good things about this place! The food was AMAZING, the seafood was cooked perfectly and the sauce you dip it in is bomb! You can get Cajun sauce, lemon pepper, garlic butter, creole or the twisted sauce. The twisted sauce is all of the sauce mixed together which that's what I get! You can get no spice, mild, hot or super hot and I got mild it wasn't spicy at all. We ordered this meal to go and brought it home to eat. We got 1lb of shrimp with head off, 2 clusters crab legs, 1/2lb crawfish, 1 lobster tail, potatoes and corn and it was $55 which this fed my family of 3:) for the amount of food and how good it was it is so worth it!! I want it every day now lol. I walked into the inside to pick up my food and you can tell it is brand new! It is decorated like a boat with wood floors and walls with nautical decor. Wasn't a huge fan of the crab boil. The spices were farm from Cajun. The sausage tasted wayyyyyyyyyy to Smokey. It was just a different experience from any other crab boil places I've been to. Took the nephews here for lunch, while I was in town. 1 absolutely loves crab legs and the other is allergic. He ordered a pound of crab legs and ate them all without uttering a word. The other and I ordered chicken of course 2 different flavors and both were great. I friendly portion and flavorful. I have been to a few different of the Cajun seafood restaurants that are popping up everywhere. Been to Lakeland, Tampa and Orlando similar places but the Twisted Crab was by far the best of them all! The flavors were perfect! I ordered a combo of 1/2 pound snow crab, 1/2 pound headless shrimp, 1/2 pound sausage with two pieces of corn and potatoes in the garlic butter sauce. Cheung greeted me and seated me immediately. Brought my drink order out with a bowl of freshly buttered popcorn to munch on while waiting. I didn't have long to wait... my food was brought out and it smelled amazing! It looked amazing as well! The crab weren't little tiny things, they were very meaty and cooked to perfection. The shrimp and the potatoes were perfect. Corn was a little chewy but it always comes out that way if it was frozen corn to begin with. Someone in another review mentioned the sausage was too smoky tasting. It did have a smoky flavor but it wasn't too strong... just added another element of flavor. I ate what I could (of course the crab is all gone) and still have another meal of leftovers! We have been to this restaurant 3 times since moving back to Auburndale. My husband got the oyster basket and i got the shrimp basket. Nicely done..decent sized shrimp and tasty. Service was impeccable. Paul is just attentive enough to make sure you need anything or not but is not overly pushy like at some places. Last time we got their BOGO of steamed shrimp to go and i must say the shrimp were done perfectly. So many places either over good or undercook shrimp. Today we got their special. It was soooo amazing. 5 lbs of seafood for $65!! you just can't beat that. 1 lb. headless shrimp (or head on if you want) 1 lb crab 1 lb black mussels 1 lb crawfish 1 lb sausage. plus you get 4 corn on the cob halves and 4 small potatoes. Everything was again done to perfection. I have had many southern or low country boils etc. but these outdid them all. We took half of it home! Again Paul made sure we had everything we needed and at perfect intervals. It takes a lot to impress me especially with seafood. Twisted Crab has easily reached my 5 star level!. read more

The atmosphere, food, and service was great. The server brought out buttered popcorn when he came to take our drink order. I had the fried oyster basket (came with 1 side). They were good. My husband got boiled shrimp with twisted sauce and my son got crab legs in butter garlic, all very good. My daughter in-law got the chicken tenders. They were good as well. My son went to the restroom and was underwhelmed. He came back and was not impressed, and for a guy that is saying something. We will definitely be back! read more

I don't know why this place has 4 stars.. maybe friends and family? Ate lunch here and at 1230 it's just me and one other customer here, not a good sign. The crawfish were so nice here. I loved it and will be going back to pickup a few pounds of crawfish . The employees were nice and friendly. I would have liked for their sauce to be way less butter. Took my son to twisted crab he ordered shrimp and crab boil. It was ok not great just ok. He would have liked some type of wet towel to wipe his hands on. its very messie. The shrimp were very nice size but the crap was very small fingerlings. Could not get the meat out with only a plastic fork and your teeth. on the other hand I had oysters on the half shell. Shells didn't look like oyster shells. They were the size of a quarter and were full of grit and shell prices. oh I was told no saltines run out. It was 4:45 in afternoon. It's Twisted alright. Valentines Day 2022 ruined and embarrassing. A good sign when we arrived at 5pm only a few cars in the parking lot and appeared closed. First time at this franchise. Reviews from up north didn't look too bad and I was wanting to go where we have never been. Never again. If I had a choice of minus stars this would be it. For a place that seats about 100 people maybe 12 were in there. At 5 pm on Valentines Day??? Guess I read the wrong reviews. I had a catfish basket the wife had a T1 which was crab legs, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. I'll start with my catfish. I have gotten a better meal at Long John silvers and Captain D's. I am a catfish lover and this was not catfish. I don't know what it was but definitely processed. 4 pieces that were about 4 inches long and looked more like fish sticks. Not fresh at all with a handful of fries. Horrible. Hers well.... Was like it was pre cooked then submerged again. The crab was brown, not pink, orange and firm and would not snap, just bent. The meat was definitely over cooked. So was the rest. Plastic forks were the utensils , no crab crackers not that they were needed. We had to ask for a metal fork, servers were standing around and not attentive. The most horrible meal I ever experienced. Don't waste your time or hard earned money. I expect to see this place closed soon. I promised the wife a make up dinner this weekend at a place I know. read more
