Got turned away for a tank top while women walked in wearing less -- so much for "equal policy." Went to a bar literally down the street and had a great time. No issue with my outfit, no ego trip from the staff. Funny how their first reply to my review was snarky and defensive, but they edited it a day later once it made them look bad. Tells you everything you need to know. Plenty of better places in downtown Winter Haven -- this just isn't one of them. When your bar has more attitude than atmosphere, it's time to move on. Love the atmosphere in this place. Just a laid back type of vibe. Yet another place I hit up on my bday (hey, what can I say...I'll use any excuse to eat or have some drinks). I had an incredible tasting of Jefferson Bourbon and she explained the differences with incredible confidence. My favorite was, of course, the most expensive - Jefferson Grand Selection Chateau Pichon Baron - French Oak Cask Finish. Im new to town and it was my second time coming to barrel and i came with a group of 8. Was there for three hours and all seemed well. Was buying drinks for myself and my friends throughout the night when one of the bartenders asked to see my ID. Common practice understandable and they asked for it 3 times earlier in the night with no problems. This bartender (guy with the ponytail think his name is Tyler) however refused to serve me. I was very confused since i was there for 3 hours and he was letting me buy drinks for other people. He said he didn't trust my New York State Enhanced ID. I offered to even provide other forms of ID and he told me he has the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason he wants. I said to him thats totally fine i will just ask another bartender for my drink. After getting a drink from another bartender he tried to take it back from me. Then he told me to leave. This seemed very personal to him and he was trying to embarrass me in front of my peers. After leaving and going outside i was talking to a few people in there who were actually underage and he served. I wish i knew why he targeted me like that and was very rude to me from the start especially since i offered to provide other forms of ID. Its really unfortunate because a couple of my friends frequent this place and we will have to take our business elsewhere for the silliest of reasons. read more

This is a great little bar but what makes it amazing and special is bartender Jillian. She has an amazing aptitude for customer service that makes you feel like a good friend, and to make that even better, she serves an awesome craft cocktail.
