The first experience would have warranted 5 stars but our second experience here wasn't as good. First time we came we sat at a table and had a wonderful server by the name of Paul. On Monday morning we were hungry and decided to get take out from here. I ordered the spicy Cuban rice bowl. This dish sounded great but it was actually bland. The rice was also clumped up a lot. Regardless of the dish, the hostess this time around was extremely rude. Gave us nasty attitude for no reason.

We started with the catfish fritters, which were a really good way to kick off the meal. For our entrees, we tried the braised oxtail and the SavannahBlue fried chicken. Overall, I really enjoyed SavannahBlue: great atmosphere, flavorful food, and a solid choice for a date night in Detroit. I'd happily come back and try more of the menu.

First, the packaging threw me off.. they don't even put the food in a proper container. The chicken was just tossed into a bag on a piece of parchment paper with a slice of hard white bread. It didn't feel sanitary or appealing at all. The chicken itself tasted old, dry, and chewy with barely any flavor. It also didn't look appetizing, which was already a red flag before I even started eating. I kept hoping it would get better, but it didn't. The mac and cheese looked promising when I opened it, but it was very bland and lacked flavor completely. To make things worse, I paid extra (75 cents) for ranch and never even received it. Overall, this experience was a huge disappointment. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this was honestly a 0/10 for me.
