The room was nice and spacious. The service was awesome. The hotel staff really went out of the way to be helpful like really went that extra mile. The hotel was close to the main village and you could use the Beaver Creek circulator app. It was about a 5-10 minute walk to the slopes but nothing too bad. The atmosphere of the hotel was really nice. It just felt like a nice lodge. They had free tea and coffee on all the floors in the mornings. They also had a washer and dryer on all the floors. The room was nice and the bathroom was a good size and super nice. I would love to come here again!!

They also have couple of very good restaurants on site including a Michelin star Japanese restaurant. The Charter is in a good size condo building so it took a while figuring out the layout.  We had a…read moretwo bedroom condo with view of the mountains, nicely decorated, although the living/dining/kitchen area is not the most spacious - a bit tight with 4 people sharing.  However one good thing is both bedrooms are nice - most two bedrooms condos tend to favor the master bedroom but here the second bedroom has two comfortable double beds instead of tiny twins (although the master does have glass doors opening directly onto the balcony). Aside from the full kitchen there is also a washer and dryer, a wood burning fireplace.   Only thing is the lighting is rather old fashioned and dim. Bathroom area has 2 sinks outside the toilet/shower room and a walk-in closet. The foyer is a bit tight - it basically can't quite accommodate all the gears for four people. Amenities are good - spa with well equipped gym, narrow but long indoor swimming pool for lap swimmers (large outdoor pool too but closed in winter) and 3 hot tubs (one not in use when we were there).  One thing to note - pool and hot tubs have a ton of chlorine in them - steam from the hot tubs will make your eyes sting and if swimming laps goggled are a must or you'd suffer unpleasant vision problems afterwards - it's alarming when everything you see has a halo for hours. Good common areas - seating in both the lobby and lower lobby as well as at various points along the hallways. The Charter is not at slope side or in the BC village.  It's a 5-10 minute walk to the village with shops and restaurants, Centennial/Strawberry or you can take the free Charter shuttle running every 15-20 min. The backside of the building connects to a ski-way which leads to the Elkhorn lift - you just have to walk down 39 steps after exiting from the game room in LL. If you choose to ski back by way of the Ski-way opposite the Strawberry lift that's 39 steps you will need to climb up (it's not that bad).  There is also the Charter Ski-way that'll bring you back to just across the road from the front of the main entrance. Service seems to be good - we had a few minor problems and one phone call and someone always comes right away.  Housekeeping is about every three days but again if you need anything you can call anytime.  We didn't have any bathrobes in the condo when we arrived but they brought them as soon as we called. The restaurant in the building serves a daily buffet breakfast ($28), happy hour and dinner (except Mon-Tues When we were there). There is outdoor ski storage units both in the front and back of the condo. No individual ski locks but the units have doors that are locked at night.

Avoid This Hotel at All Costs…read more If you value cleanliness, good service, or honesty in advertising, do not stay here. The hotel's listing claimed "luxurious mountain retreat", "elevated experience, "recent renovations" and showed beautiful photos, but my experience was nothing like what was advertised. We booked a 5-night stay for New Year's week to celebrate my birthday, paying $10,000 during peak pricing. We chose this hotel for its location over newer and less expensive options, only to be met with a room that was outdated, dirty, and poorly maintained. Room Conditions: * Stained carpets and walls * Damaged headboard and cracked bathroom tiles * Moldy, peeling wallpaper and a musty, moldy smell in the bathroom * Dirty towels, scratched lamps, toothpaste spatter on the mirror, and stained sink and counters * A broken deadbolt on the door Service: The service was equally disappointing. At check-in, I immediately reported the room's condition, but the front desk staff refused to assist, telling me to speak to a manager the next morning. Over the next two days, I spoke with several staff members, including those claiming to be managers, yet nothing was resolved. I was told no other rooms were available, and they could not do anything. I asked to check out early and cancel my remaining days of my prepaid stay. They did agree but I am still waiting for refund. One manager, Bryanna, was especially rude and dismissive, showing no willingness to help. The staff seemed inexperienced and untrained, which I later learned was due to new management. Final Thoughts: This stay has been a nightmare. I've wasted days of my trip trying to resolve these issues with the hotel and Expedia, and I am still waiting for a refund for the unused nights. On top of that, the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, with no alternatives offered. This hotel is overpriced, poorly managed, and far from the luxury experience it advertises. Avoid it at all costs--it's not worth the money, the frustration, or the disappointment.

The lady at the front desk also said it was possible to check in early we got there early she said she would text us when the room was ready we got there about 9:00 in the morning about 2:00 I called her back to see you when it was going to be good to check in she said the room wasn't ready yet? We decided just to go sit at the hotel and wait in the lobby about 30 minutes after we checked in she checked us in I think she didn't want us to check in before 4:00 she said the room wasn't done being cleaned yet? That was really odd to me because we were told once we did check in we were to clean our own room before leaving we had to throw our own trash and clean up which we did I did not want to get a fine and get charged the extra cleaning fee my daughter stayed at a different place they let her check in at 10:00 in the morning when she got there which was really nice so they got to go enjoy the whole day. I would just keep in mind there is no air conditioning so when you go in the middle of July you have to rely on the Windows being open and fans

Positives: --Beautiful lake to walk around or do water activities (skating in the winter); --Yoga studio with free class included (from the resort fee); --Friendly staff; --Rooms were clean and comfy; I especially loved all the pillows; --Great pool area; --Easy to access great hikes & restaurants. Negatives: --The building looks like it has not been renovated in at least 30 years. The inside just feels dark, dingy and dated. --Pretty noisy all the time. The pool area can especially get loud with lots of intoxicated guests enjoying the amenities. --The elevators are creepy AF and felt like they could break at any minute. --Restaurants on site are super pricey and limited menus. But the place is within a 10-15 minute drive of other good restaurant options. --Lots of upcharges that brought our bill higher, such as resort fee, parking fee, pet fee, etc.
