Disclaimer: this was in my drafts from 2015 but a very serious issue that deserved to still be shared for potential customers to be aware. There are so many negatives from our experience renting a private roundtrip shuttle for ten from Denver to Breck... I don't know where to begin! 1. The shuttles were nasty (both to and from). Run down, smelly, just not taken care of. 2. The ride to Breck, the heat was insane... even turned all the way down for some reason in the back of the van 3. On the way back we were supposed to be picked up at 12:00pm, and the driver misread the schedule and didn't get there until after 2. We all missed our flights because traffic was nuts and we lost our cushion of time. 4. The driver was messing around on her phone the entire drive. Glad we lived to tell the story. I just received a reply saying I was leaving a review from another company, are you kidding me?? Our friend reserved the shuttle when we rented I just saw my review was still a draft and hadn't been posted from when we visited. read more

I used Powderhound to get from Hyatt Regency to Breckenridge this week. I had two of my kids with me. I chose Powderhound because they could pick us up from our hotel so we didn't have to schlep our way back to the airport for an 8am shuttle. All of the other shuttle services only left from the airport. It cost about $100 more than those services from the airport but we saved the Uber ride cost from the hotel to the airport and we didn't have to wake up so early to be at the airport by 8am I recommend asking for Terry. He was really fun to talk to and very patient when we were a tiny bit late meeting him at pick up and when one of my kids took extra time at a shopping detour. Lastly, I really appreciated the email confirmations and the call from Terry in the morning letting us know he was on his way. Well done Powderhound and Terry! read more

It was our first trip to Keystone and I found this company on a google search. I'm so glad I did. They were very attentive to our requests via email which is important since I'm not able to make phone calls all day. They sent driver contact information prior to arriving at DIA which made it effortless in finding the driver when we finally got our luggage. Trip from DIA to Keystone was great, the driver pointed out "local" marks and made all of us feel safe. Our return trip from keystone to DIA was just as pleasurable with another driver who arrived prior to pick up time and delivered us to the airport with plenty of time. On my next trip to Colorado I will definitely be using powderhound again. read more

I have used Powderhound twice now to get from Denver International Airport to Breckenridge. The first time (2013), the pick up went smooth and we even ended up taking an additional passenger and wasn't charged anymore for it. A friend was supposed to rent a car, but the deal fell through, so he rode with us. The driver was friendly and extremely talkative, unfortunately it was to the point of being a little annoying. He did explain a lot of the site to see, though, so that was cool. He stopped at the grocery store and liquor store for us and then took us to the condo. Everything went smoothly. The return trip was great as well. Driver showed up on time, helped us load the gear, and got us to the airport with plenty of time to spare even though we were in a blizzard. The second time (2014), went even better. The driver, who's name I can't quite remember (big guy, 6'3"+, short hair..Rich? Rick?), was awesome. When I landed in Denver, I had a text from him saying he was waiting and not to rush. We found him easily and he loaded all the gear up. On the drive there, he was friendly (but not over talkative!) and even recommended a good bud shop and liquor store about half way to the mountain. Both proved to be substantially cheaper than the shops in Breckenridge. He got us to the condo on time, even with a bud stop, liquor stop, grocery stop, and lunch stop. 5 stars for him for sure. The return trip was just as smooth, though the driver didn't really leave an impression (which may or may not be a good thing haha). My only gripes are the cost vs the service. You can get a shared ride service with other companies in much nicer vans (fully loaded with wifi and refreshments) for the same price (if you include the tip). I haven't had a bad trip with PH though, so I will continue to use them. I also HATE shared rides. I am giving 4 stars. 1 star got taken off due the high costs vs service. read more

The service was good although the first driver showed up with a flat tire and wasted 20 minutes of our time. Also without any knowledge prior the company charged our credit cards an additional $30 on top of the $20 tip we gave the driver (the ride cost $350) I have several problems with this. 1: you shouldn't have a minimum gratuity for a driver. They're not waiters or waitresses who can make or break your experience. Just charge us more at the beginning if you aren't paying your drivers enough (which is exactly what the company said: "our drivers earn their wages off tips" - I find that hard to believe for a $350 two hour trip. To make matters worse on the way back our driver said "last one off is stuck paying me the $80 tip". That's unacceptably rude and that's over a 20% tip for driving us from A to B and nothing else. read more

Everything was fine except the tipping policy is absurd. They have a mandatory $50 tip per ride. After our first ride, we were charged $30 on our card without prior notice to cover the minimum. Tips should be earned, not mandatory. The driver also tried to get us to move up our pickup time so that he could get the larger tip. Furthermore he was rude in the car saying, "last man standing gets stuck with the $80 tip". This was all very unprofessional and I won't be using it again... Nor will I let my friends use it who travel to Colorado. read more

I booked Powderhound to transport our group of 8 to/from Breckenridge for a ski trip. Our driver, Adam, was courteous, informative, and safe. Easy and good communication between Adam and I before both pick-ups. Smooth ride in both directions. Right sized van for all of our gear and bodies. Right price. Not too much else I could ask for. I agree that charging a mandatory, minimum gratuity is a bit backwards. I don't generally agree with the US gratuity practice of relying on gratuity to earn a wage, but that is a conversation not suitable for Yelp. With gratuity included, Powderhound still had the best price around. read more

TL;DR: Got us where we were going! Would recommend using them. PRIVATE SHUTTLES. We used their services in January of 2019. The information that they had on their website was very informative and outlined exactly what to expect. I was happy with the decision going in to our trip. When we got off our plane and we were getting our bags in Denver, we were called by our driver and was informed that they were ready to pick us up! This was almost an hour before the scheduled pick up time, but made no difference to us! The interaction from being called by the driver to finding them and getting on the shuttle was odd, since there were no markings on the vehicle that pulled up to indicate that it was affiliated with Powerhound. From here, we informed our driver that we wished to stop at a grocery store to get things for our stay, though bear in mind that we stopped in Denver and we had our things that we bought for the entire drive to our final destination in Keystone. This went smoothly, as we left our bags in the car and went in to buy our things. We asked our driver if we had 30 minutes, from the response, it seemed as if it didn't much matter how much time it would have taken, which was helpful! We still only took less than 30 minutes to get things for 6 people. From then on, everything was smooth sailing to our destination! After our time spent in Keystone we had a scheduled departure time of 8:00 AM to be picked up by our driver, but we ended up getting picked up at ~10:00 AM. This was no fault of the driver, but there was a lot of traffic that morning since there were a lot of people driving up for the fresh powder that had dropped the day before. I'd recommend building in a good amount of time for transportation issues that could arise, as it did for us. Once we did get picked up, our driver was very friendly and dropped us off at the airport no problem! Though, I will note again, that there were no markings on the shuttle that we were picked up in. I would recommend using them, still! The private shuttle is definitely nice for a bigger group of people! Though, there is always room for improvement! read more

First trip to Denver/Breckenridge area. We had a group of 7 that stayed our first two days in LoDo and then headed to Breck. There are a lot of shared options directly from DIY to the mountains but not many that will pick you up from anywhere else at a reasonable price. Thankfully there is Powderhound. Our driver, Adam, picked up up (he arrived 10 minutes early) and was patient, friendly and extremely helpful on the drive up to Breck. We even did a quick stop to pick up some beers. I would ABSOLUTELY use their services again in the future and recommend that you do the same. read more

Larry our driver was nice and helpful and called the previous night to reconfirm our ride. Minus 2 stars for the condition of the van because the heating was not working!! Servicing skiing resorts in such a vehicle is unacceptable. I was traveling with a 5 and a 6 year old. I had to take skiing clothes out of my suitcase to cover them. When we missed our Delta Flight to Steamboat Springs ( Delta moved the flight up by 30 minutes and sent an E-mail to the wrong address), we had no choice but to fly into Denver and find ground transportation to Steamboat. Powderhound saved our vacation. For this Floridian the thought of renting a car and driving through mountain roads with snow and ice and with little kids would have been stressful. A one way car rental to Steamboat was going to be over $300.00. Our plane did not land at the right time for to get a shuttle that would have had a 10 to 20 other riders and a half dozen extra stops before you reach your destination. Powderhound to the rescue. We had an amazing driver, Richard B, who was a blast to be in the van with for three hours. He knew the area well and shared his knowledge with us. We got to choose a Denver restaurant, Pizza Locale ( the Chipolte Pizza Concept) to stop at for lunch. ( I had longing to check this place out). It was not on the way, but our driver was not rushed. Our driver just rocked, he was great with kids, drove at a reasonable but not excessive speed, offered great suggestions, and was just a really cool, non-corporate, guy. With Powderhound your group or family is the only group in the van which is so much better than a shared shuttle. If you want corporate limo guy with a career driver, where you never say a word to the driver, call a limo guy. If you want a ski or outdoor enthusiast who happens to drive a shuttle, when he or she is not skiing, snow-boarding or doing something else really cool, than call Powderhound. They rock, they do not nickel and dime you, and they were a complete pleasure to work with. I recommend them without reservation and suggest asking for Richard B as a driver. Our group used Powderhound for roundtrip transportation between DIA and Vail. It was our buddy's bachelor party and we wanted all 8 guys to be in one vehicle. Powderhound is both cost effective and flexible. They are good with communication prior to pickup and are very open to making stops for groceries/beer/etc. Adam was super chill and gave us the low down on different areas during the drive. A great person to share the 2 hour drive with! He was a safe driver and awesomely accomodating in our bachelor party needs, since a majority of us were from out of state.
