He's energetic and peppy in the morning, which makes for a very enjoyable ride to school. The Golden Call-N-Ride is an extention of RTD public transit services. They have a scheduled route, a flex route (runs at certain time intervals), and a call-in service. You must call and reserve a pick-up at least 2 hours in advance. While I have not used the call-in service, I have called to ask them to stop on a flex route stop outside of their flex route hours. The "Golden green bus" is incredibly convenient as it stops at the Colorado School of Mines and the JeffCo Light Rail Station. As a CSM student, I get a discounted bus pass every year which makes for easy commuting. I am very excited that RTD expanded their service out to Golden. I'd like to see light rail service to the airport next (crossing my fingers that it was connect with the W-line with only one transfer!).

I used the service in the past and never had a problem; however, RTD has recently contracted with a…read morenew provider called Via: https://viacolorado.org/. In recent weeks, there have been a number of problems, including a 55 minute wait to be picked up one afternoon, a bus that never showed on another afternoon, drivers who have not been trained (to the extent that they don't know the routes or, at times, even how to use their onboard computer/GPS system), and a missed connection at light rail on one morning. As I say, all of these incidents have taken place within recent weeks, and I never had trouble with the previous contractor. I do not fault the drivers. With one exception, the new drivers have all been pleasant, and I don't mind providing directions as needed. I am absolutely dependent on the service and I really need it to work as it used to work. A complaint has also been submitted to RTD directly: 300-299-6000.

They recently upgraded all the stations along the US-36 corridor with new covered seating and digital schedule displays. This is a huge upgrade from what they had before! There is also a paper map of bus routes with daily schedules available for you to peruse at your leisure. This particular station has plenty of parking no matter when you arrive. There is a pedestrian tunnel under US-36 to an additional parking lot and the westbound gates. Busses generally run on-time, although I have encountered a couple instances when they didn't show up at all. Aside from that, though, this is a great alternative to driving! Pro-Tip: if you have an iPhone (or other smartphone), there are lots of great apps for tracking public transit. My personal favorites are Moovit & Transit. If you frequently use RTD, these are really helpful.

This means you are looking at $10 per person for a round trip. This might make economic sense for 1 person, but if you are a group of 4 or 5 people going out for the evening, you could drive downtown, pay for gas and $10 for parking, and still come out $20 to $30 ahead. Also, you would get downtown faster, not spend as much time cooling your heels at the station (or have to change trains on the weekend), and probably wind up much closer to your intended destination. It is neither convenient nor cost effective for many people.

We had a group of 9 people (friends) and as many people may or may not know, if you aren't walking distance to town, on a shuttle stop or have a car you need to call a taxi or car service to get everywhere. Steve was beyond accommodating, punctual, affordable and informative and gave us great recommendations on restaurants, activities, etc. They drove SUV's which were luxurious, pristine clean and safe. We arranged pick up times with him daily or called as needed and he always did his best to accommodate regardless of the time of night or location. Steve was our "go-to" driver over the busy holiday week and were so impressed we contacted him for his services 3 weeks later in January prior to our family returning. We planned airport pick-up/drop-offs s from both Eagle as well as Denver as well as pick up times needed over the week. I HIGHLY recommend Luxury Mountain Transport for any and all transportation needs in Vail whether short or long distances. We had terrible experiences with other Taxi companies in Vail and the drivers were hard to get ahold of, had horrible attitudes, were rude and expensive. Definitely contact Luxury Mountain Transport if you need a taxi/car service in Vail - they are fantastic and we will always use their services when needed in the future.

Realizing she was likely going to miss her flight, which was the last one of the day, we were both in a panic. I couldn't get in touch with an actual human at the service I had set up for her, so I began calling company after company with this absurd request-- for someone to pick up my daughter immediately. My luck finally changed when Nick answered the phone at Summit Express. Instead of the quick "no" I had heard from the first five companies I called, Nick put me on hold for a couple of minutes. He came back and asked if my daughter was ready now; he said they would pick her up in 14 minutes! I looked at Life360 less than 15 minutes after hanging up with Nick, and my girl was on the move, driving to DEN! Because of Nick and my daughter's driver, Jeffrey, she made her flight and wasn't stranded alone overnight in Denver. This morning, we were able to celebrate my mom's final day of chemotherapy/radiation in person with her, which would have not been possible if I didn't get so lucky as to find Summit Express and Nick. Going forward, we will only use Summit Express!
