Tried the truffleist cheesesteak at the Bryant Park shops. We went around 11:15am and there was a short line. They only make 20 per day of this special edition. It was indulgent and stuffed with cheese, peppers, onions and shaved truffle.

Truffle cheesesteak with goat cheese and honey

Came to the truffleist stand at Bryant park after years of wanting to try the truffle cheesesteak. We got the truffle cheesesteak and added goat cheese and honey on top and it was really delicious. The truffle wasn't overwhelming and the goat cheese and honey were a perfect addition and added to the complexity of flavors. We also got the OG truffle fries which were the biggest waste of money. They were $35 and tasted like gasoline from all the truffle they put in it. The chicken on it tasted very processed. Actually hated this and wish I went with something simpler or just curly fries to be honest. Would get the cheesesteak again and avoid the OG truffle fries like the plague.

It's a pop up shop in Bryant Park during the holidays. We bought truffle oil here but they have so many other items as well. You can go to their website and order the items with truffle! my daughter is a real truffle fanatic so I let her pick out the oil she wanted to take home!

Went to the booth at Union Square. I LOVE truffle and saw the long line, so I KNEW this was the spot to try. I opted for the OG which had curly fries, spicy chicken pieces, cheese, and a generous amount of truffle. The market price that day was $30, which is up there, but it was a large portion and two people could easily eat from it.

This is a review for their popup location at Bryant Park (south side near 40th Street, if you are looking for it). The line moves very quick and I did not have to wait very long for my food. I ordered the truffle cheesesteak, and it was served hot and fresh. First thing to note is, this thing is nearly impossible to eat as a sandwich because it was SO stuffed with cheese and meat. I was afraid if I picked it up it would fall apart on me, so I ended up eating it with a fork. Definitely an awkward experience, but it was nice to know that they did not skimp on meat for a $17 sandwich. I feel like the sandwich smelled more of truffle than tasted of truffle, but you can tell it was definitely doused in truffle oil. The sandwich was pretty good but too cheesy for my liking, and the bread definitely gets soggy fast (due to the steam from the heat mostly). I found it to be also really heavy, and I was only able to finish half of it. If I were to get this again, I would probably split it with a friend along with a side of fries.

Must visit in the Bryant Park Winter Village! Their $35 truffle cheesesteak gets a lot of press but for those who don't want to spend that much on a sandwich, they have plenty of other $15-19 cheesesteaks with their truffle oil. My boyfriend and I got the cacio e pepe cheesesteak which was more than enough to split between us. It looked small but was loaded with gooey meaty cheesesteak topped with chunks of shaved Parmesan between perfectly toasty bread. The truffle oil was a bit overpowered by the cacio e pepe and Parmesan but it was still delicious nonetheless. Can't wait to try more of their sandwiches!

Curly fries with truffle injected burrata, truffle buffalo chicken tenders, cheese sauce, parmesan and, of course, truffle on top.

Worth the $30 considering it can feed at least two people. The stall at the Union Square market had the longest line and a very organized team. There is limited seating in the area.

Stopped by to get the cheesesteak fries and they were so good. Definitely food to be shared because they don't skimp on the portions!

Tried this at the Bryant Park Holiday market this weekend. I usually buy from the store and decided to try their food stand. It was an abysmal experience. I went in a Saturday morning to try "The truffleist truffle cheesecake". I waited on line, told them my order and a man who I assume was the manager standing behind the cashier, asked me "Are you sure you don't mean the truffle cheesecake"? I responded that I wanted the truffliest truffle cheesecake and he questioned "you know it's $38 dollars right"? In a very rude and impatient tone as if I looked like I couldn't afford to buy it. I paid and waited for my sandwich. Despite this interaction I was excited to try the sandwich and was very disappointed with the flavors. It was filled to the brim with mayo which did not match the perfume-y taste of the added flowers, which didn't mesh with the pate on top. I struggled to even finish half and ended up just taking the meat and cheese out and scraping off the mayo. It was not a friendly experience and an even worse sandwich. Aesthetically pleasing does not equal pleasant taste.

Anything truffle?? Count me in. It's as delicious as it looks and it had me drooling waiting in line. It's huge and they go crazy on the cheese.

    Truffle bratwurst sans pretzel bun
    Alexa C.

I tried this stand out in the Bryant Park holiday pop up mostly because I cannot resist the seductive siren call of the smell of truffles in the air. I ordered the truffle bratwurst, which seemed to be a special. A classic bratwurst surrounded by a mozzarella crisp, coated in a truffle cheese sauce and nestled in a toasted pretzel bun (they were out of pretzel buns when I visited, so it was subbed for a toasted plain white baguette). The service was fast, and the food was good, but oh boy is it heavy. And rich. And cheesy. I could barely finish my brat simply because it was so *rich.* Regardless, the flavors were delicious, and as a fan of truffle, I was not disappointed. All in all, I enjoyed this stand, and would definitely recommend it.

I visited the Truffleist booth at the Bryant Park winter village, I love truffle anything so I was excited to try their menu and visit their shop. I ordered the Truffle cheesesteak burger & the truffle cheesesteak fries both about $14-15 each. A little pricey for lunch but the portions are huge, definitely shareable! The burger was just ok, the cheesesteak on top was awesome but the burger itself was lacking flavor and quality. The fries were amazing! I tried the truffle hot sauce and even bought a bottle. I look forward to going back and trying other menu options such as the truffle mozzarella sticks.

Cheesesteaks made us sick almost as soon as we ate them. Bad meat and the Truffle is synthetic.

I went to the Papaya place on 72nd and it just didn't do it for me. Maybe because they roll around on a grill and I needed something bobbing in water. The internet told me Billy was an OG, so I knew he'd give me what I needed. They were right, innanets remain undefeated! I made my way down to CPW from The Bronx (yea, that's how you know it's real). When I arrived at his cart, Billy was alone waiting to serve his next customer. I was too shy to mention being in this part of town just for him. I was actually too shy to say anything other than "Hello" and my order. "Two hot dogs, mustard, sauerkraut and onions". But no need, while nimbly preparing my order, Billy started speaking to me. He very briefly told me how he'd been out there for 35 years. That his naysayers said he wouldn't last, meanwhile he's still there and they're long gone. Just as soon as we were about to kick it like old friends, I look up and he has a line! I couldn't occupy his time anymore and took my prize across the street to sit on a bench outside the park. Looking over to his set up, I realized there aren't many push style, hot dog carts around anymore. They were once ubiquitous like checkered cabs... Billys cart also has sausages, sodas and water. I'm honestly not sure of what else, because I was laser focused on 'hotdogonions'. But I did notice a pretty extensive price list/menu. The hot dogs were $3, the sodas 2. Great prices! I absolutely got my fix from Billys cart and would make the trek again
