    Good 'ol Mozz Sticks
    Vivek D.

had a fun time here eating some good 'ol mozz sticks. They're all basically made to order so it takes some time to receive your food. Fortunately, there's quite a few barstools so you can hangout waiting for the food or grab a beer from the Filling Station right behind you. The mozz sticks I got came with 4 large mozz sticks. I thought the mozz sticks tasted damn good and filled me up despite costing $11. No complaints food wise from me.

BEST MOZZARELLA STICKS. I was told to go to the Chelsea Market specifically to go get their famous Mozzarella sticks. Their recommendation was completely right. A serving of Mozzarella sticks included 4 thick sticks and cheesy marinara sauce. Very quick service. These sticks don't look like your ordinary, bright yellow, artificial-looking mozzarella sticks. These were darker and mastered the perfect balance between having a crispy outside, but soft melted cheese on the inside. The cheese wasn't too stringy nor hardened like most others I've had before. Pairing these with their mozzarella sauce created the best cheesy experience I've ever had. The location was a little hard to get to. The Chelsea market is highly trafficked and the aisles to Big Mozz are small, but the trip is well worth it!!

The popular Smorgasburg stand that started out serving just mozzarella sticks has just opened a permanent stand in Chelsea Market. Taking over the former Very Fresh Noodles space and cleverly repurposing the nice neon sign and swapping in "Mozzarella" for the last word, they are now serving much more than just those perfectly made sticks. Today I tried the Brooklyn Cubans ($13), a great sandwich with plenty of the excellent fresh mozzarella. I also had the Chicken Parm Bites ($10), which you can watch them bread fresh on site. Will definitely come back soon for Garlic Fries ($7.35) and the classic mozzarella sticks that never fail to please.

After hearing great reviews about Big Mozz, I knew that I had to stop by their stand at Smorgasburg Prospect Park when I visited-- and I was NOT disappointed! I ordered the regular Mozz Sticks and they came out the truck piping hot with a warm side of marinara sauce. Before tasting them, I already had high expectations because the mozzarella sticks had an amazing cheese pull! (I wish I could post the video but check out my IG: @hungrykayxo for it!!) Flavor-wise, these were sincerely the best mozzarella sticks I've ever had. You sincerely cannot go wrong with a perfectly golden brown crust with melted mozzarella all in the middle but what made it better was the extra Parmesan on top and flavorful Italian seasoning. I would highly recommend Big Mozz if you're ever craving mozzarella sticks and are tired of the frozen ones from the supermarket. Worth every dollar and the friendly + quick service was also a plus!!

Chicken Parm bites are seasoned to perfection and taste amazing after dipping in the marinara sauce & paired with an IPA. We tried food from 5 different locations at Chelsea market and this was by far the best item we ate. I'll come again and try other items because everything they were making looked delicious and at a great value as well.

Wow. Hands down the best mozzarella stick I've ever had in my life. The breading is so good and the cheese inside is melted so perfectly. $12 for 4 pieces...a bit pricey but I think it's worth it since you're in a touristy spot already. It doesn't take a long time to come out and they have bar seating around the counters.

Great food in a great location. I've eaten here twice and it's the best fried mozzarella I've ever eaten. My daughter made me drive her here from jersey for some mozzarella. It's so good that we never get anything else. I promise that next time I'll explore the menu. If you stop in Chelsea Market, make sure you get an appetizer of mozzarella here.

As a huge mozz stick fan, these definitely live up to the hype. They're so well seasoned and crispy on the outside with some really high quality streeetchhhyyy mozzarella on the inside. Super filling so if you do try them at a food market just keep that in mind!

There's standard mozzarella sticks, and then there's Big Daddy Big Mozz. We found our way to Chelsea Market on a Saturday afternoon. The venue was busy, but we found our way to mozzarella heaven soon enough. We were greeted with a smile and soon was granted entry to food delight. Our crew of 5 ordered 1.5 orders of their works famous mozzarella sticks and 2 orders of waffle fries. Obviously, the mozzarella sticks were life changing. Cheese pulls as far as the arms could stretch, crunchy exterior and warm, soothing interior. My god. It was amazing. However, the crisp waffle fries nearly stole the show as well! I was very impressed with their barstool setup, which allowed me to watch them prepare the food in expert fashion (they also are clean food ninjas, multiple glove changes to make this nurse a happy camper)! If we didn't love our of state, I'd be here almost daily. Perfection in every way.

Was really craving some fried cheese and boy did I come to the right place... all a cheesy wonder. The mozz sticks are so tasty! They're so crunchy and not too thick (I hate when my mozz sticks are 95% cheese, it's so difficult to enjoy). The service was a little strange but decent, it was hard to get their attention once you sat down but they were accommodating after you got it. I would give them more stars but my stomach bothered me a little afterwards, maybe from the heavily used oils. And I wasn't a big fan of their sandwich. I had the Cuban and I felt like, for a cheese strong food spot, it was soooo dry. My boyfriend thought it was OK, but I would get something else next time.

Most off putting experience at their Prospect Park location in Smorgasburg their opening weekend of 6/13!!! I understand having technical difficulties when you're newly up and running, but the tact and level of respect you handle your customers with is EVERYTHING. Going in order of savory vendors we first stopped at Big Mozz bc why not, mozzarella sticks, amirite? Not worth the $10 (I think) we paid? Bit into first stick melted outside, frozen inside and marinara sauce was cold. When it's 11a and you're just opening, it's probably wise to try your food before sending out the first ticket. I politely told the gentleman taking orders that they were under done. I could tell the patron next to me was having a similar experience, but we kind of just looked at each other until one of us made a move. He quickly apologized and told me my sticks would be replaced. At this point, the line cook who was preparing them, said loud enough for everyone to hear, "idk what you want me to do, the oil isn't hot enough," now I'm forgiving of situations like this... you're new, maybe it's a new deep fryer, maybe they're a new vendor all together-- and you're overwhelmed, but exhibit a bit of decorum. Now, where this went south for me was when we received our second batch, also still frozen in the center, and I kindly returned it to the gentleman, as he asked me to try one in front of him to make sure they were well fried, and the cook now sticks her head out of the food truck and says, "listen, honey, this is new to us, you've gotta be patient." NEVER and I mean NEVER "listen, honey," a customer, and who wasn't being patient? If your fry oil wasn't ready, why did you start taking orders? I told them I would later return, in an effort to give them a chance to sort out their mess. My husband and I were literally baffled. Someone from their food truck eventually found us throughout the crowd with a third and properly prepared order of mozz sticks. I think I was so turned off by the way I was spoken to, that I didn't even want to eat them. Sadly, I just thought they they were okay, nothing spectacular, imho.

It was my second time in NY and my first time visiting Chelsea Market, and having lunch at Big Mozz was definitely the highlight of the day! Because as a good mediterranean I love mozzarella, and because this place specializes on making these cheesy balls of goodness, I decided to order two different mozza dishes - the sticks and the pesto ball. Started with the mozarella sticks, perfectly made, so crunchy and of course very full of melty cheese. Then I ordered the pesto mozarella ball - they actually inject the pesto inside the cheese ball, in a way that all the green pesto spreads through your toast and plate when you cut the cheese. Delicious, even the side salad was surprisingly good.

Wow -- some serious cheese and burrata going on here -- plus our guy hand rolled it right in front of us. Talk about fresh! Got the "classic" for 16 bucks with a generous portion of cheese, salad and Amy's toasted bread to gild the lily so to speak. Wanted to try the chix parm and Cubano -- but have to save something for next time -- Chelsea Market can do that to you with all the yummy choice.

Alright I have to confess as a former food truck owner/chef Hoboken Foodie is partial to street…read morefood! There's just something about these commercial kitchens on wheels that makes my blood flow. Now Hoboken is in the middle of city council meetings discussing the future of food trucks in the mile square city and I hope they don't make it impossible for these mobile restaurants to operate. In my opinion the gripe that restauranteurs have that these trucks are taking business from them is hogwash! What's the difference if another restaurant opened across the street? Yeah Yeah now comes the B.S. that these food trucks don't have the expenses that "brick and mortar" joints have......more hogwash! Some of these mobile entrepreneurs have more. Most of these trucks cannot be leased as can most restaurants so the owners have to pay up front and some of these trucks are in excess of $100,000.00. That's right "A HUNDRED GRAND"! They are also burdened with a higher insurance nut every year. And another thing is that someone grabbing a taco off a truck wasn't teetering with the idea of sitting down at Augostinos. Sorry I steered off topic........Mamma Marci!!!! YUM freakin' YUM!!!!! This is street food at it's best. The first time I ate off this rig was last year at the Hoboken Arts and Music Festival. The best lasagna I ever had! Last night I come around the corner (Newark and Wash) and who's there? Right Mamma Marci!! How happy was I? Very! Sweet and sour meatballs or as my daughter would describe them, candy meat. Oh so sweet! We also took home a bucket of penne with marinara sauce along with some meatballs. Oh and some of this chicken in a white wine sauce. Wow it was good, some capers, lemon and a cheese atop maybe a pecorino romano. So in closing please support these mobile gourmet gurus! And that's all I have to say about that!
