Complete professionals from site and job assessment, presenting a quote, to scheduling the service, to performing the service. Not the lowest quote, but far from being the highest. The online interaction is superb and very professionally done. It makes all aspects very easy and smooth. No one was ever too busy to take my call and answered all questions completely and in a timely manner. My job was removal to two very overgrown Bradford Pear trees that were endangering my house as well as the houses of two neighbors. The skill and professionalism were impressive. The vehicles were professionally marked and identified and all crew wore professional clothing identifying themselves and their employer. Had both stumps ground and was surprised when the crew cleaned up so well you couldn't tell where the stumps were - then proceeded to spread top soil, grass seed, and hay. Highly recommended. I ordered a cord of wood. We have ordered from this company in the past had no problems. We got the wood dumped in the driveway when I started to stack it and I noticed it was all junk wood. Scraps, rotten wood, short pieces 4 or 6 inches. Had to throw a lot away could not even use it looked like the company cleaned out their yard and put the wood in ours. read more

I contacted the Tree People for a quote to remove a root growing into my driveway. They came right away (I didn't even need to be home) and sent me a quote. Unfortunately they recommended removing the tree and I'd rather have a bumpy driveway than be without that tree... but $2000 for that big tree is a fair price. read more

If I could give The Tree People a 5+ star, I would. From the first initial contact with Cindy to get a quote, to the email follow up from Michael they were very professional. Within a few days I had a written quote emailed to me and the price was better than all 6 others I received. Their response for an estimate was pretty fast. I had one of their tree experts come out the next day to give me an estimate. The price was around what other service providers quoted. We have several large trees in our backyard and a large one in the front. On the day of the service the crew quickly removed all of the old branches and cleaned up the yard. They also did some minor work in the backyard with the poison ivy plant we were having issues with. read more

We chose The Tree People (TTP) because they were the most cost efficient and had a great reputation to go with that quote. We had 5 very large pine trees and one spruce tree that needed to be removed and the stumps ground. The team of six showed up at 9ish and I was completely impressed - it was like a six-headed machine, one guy was climbing and cutting limbs then others were putting them into the chipper, while others were prepping for guiding the top portion of the tree to fall in the appropriate place when it was cut. They finished the entire job by the end of the day - seemingly an impossible task. The spruce tree needed to be dropped in an 8 foot wide area so as not to hit our house or crush any shrubs...the dropped it dead center in that space. It was the most interesting thing I have seen recently - skill, crazy hard work and safely dropping these enormous trees. I was like a 12 year old just watching in awe. Great work TTP!!! read more

Sadly, you couldn't pay me enough to use the tree people. I contacted them about removing a dead tree and trimming a few others. I scheduled an appointment to have them stop by my house for an estimate. The time came and went without anyone showing up, calling, or emailing. A few days before the appointment we noticed ribbons STAPLED to several of our trees. No indication of who did it and not something I would have allowed. About 2 weeks later I received an emailed estimate referencing the ribbon colors from the Tree People. To rehash: 1. They didn't show up on the day and time they said they would. 2. They randomly showed up and stapled my trees! 3. They never made an effort to contact me about what I thought needed to be done, only what they thought needed to be done. As if things weren't bad enough, the estimate was by far the highest of the ones I collected. Next time I need tree work done, I'll be sure not to contact The Tree People. And in case you're wondering, I went with Final Cut Tree Care out of White Marsh. read more

My tenant had passed onto me an estimate from the tree people for removing a dead tree in the yard. I contacted them with the estimate and indicated that I have another rental a few blocks away that also needs some tree trimming. I described what needed to be done and the estimator went to the site, marked the trees and sent me an estimate. I noticed that they missed the 2nd tree with deadwood and the estimator indicated he would be out the following week. I asked if we could get the first job scheduled but he said he wants to get the other estimate squared away and do both jobs the same day. Once the estimate was squared away and I agreed with the price, the office emailed me and said I was on the schedule but the date they gave me was 5 weeks away. I followed up with the office by email 10 days before the scheduled day to make sure we were still on schedule for both jobs and provided the estimate tracking numbers in the email. The office said yes I am still on schedule but had Tuesdays date opposed to Mondays date. On Monday I got a call from the field crew saying they were not going to make it that afternoon but they will be there first thing in the morning. The following morning I called the office to see which site they were going to first. They said there was confussion since the first site estimate was under the tenants name they didn't have it scheduled even though a week earlier I specifically asked in my email if both jobs were scheduled. I asked so what time will you be at the job that was on the schedule. They said they won't be because they want to reschedule both jobs on the same day. I said Okay what day, they told me they will get back to me the following day by noon. Once again they gave me a date 4 weeks out, having me wait essentially another month. The following day I called another company who met on Thursday to do the estimate and was there on Friday to do the tree work. I can't speak for the quality of work or professionalism of the field crew because the owner, his office staff and estimator could not get their act together and had put me off for over 2 months. read more

Not impressed with their pricing. The estimator was a NO show and then came back another day but was but late... We decided to use someone else outside Pasadena which we got better prices without discount -- saving us $ 400 and the second estimator found a few more dead branches that was omit in the first estimate. Look elsewhere. ... Accepted an estimate on March 26th. I was not followed-up with/notified until April 4th that the work would not be completed until April 24th. No call and no show for that appointment. I had to call 48 hours later to inform them that they had failed to keep the appointment. This happened THREE! more times. They set the appointment and then they failed to show or notify me of the need to re-schedule. (Oh!, but they did manage to bill me for one of the appointments that they did not show up for). Work was finally completed 45 DAYS after the estimate. This was to have one stump that measured 24" x 24" ground down. A fence post was damaged in the course of the work, too. Their response, "We'll note that in the file." What!?!?! The one time they did care to take the time to contact me was 5 days after the work was done, but NOT to see if I was satisfied. Instead, they only wanted to know where the payment was. Again, look elsewhere. read more
