Our large yard in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains had become completely overgrown after…read morethe rains, so we had Jose and his crew do brush abatement work and tree trimming. If you know this area, you know how critical this work is... beyond curb appeal, proper brush clearance could be the difference between survival and destruction of our house and our community. Jose re-established our defensible space by trimming the canopy and hauling out a MASSIVE amount combustible material. The work was exemplary. Every detail we asked for was done with care and attention. We especially appreciated that the tree trimming was handled with an eye to aesthetics as well as safety. Not only that, The Gardener has very fair pricing! After so many disappointing experiences with other gardeners, we are glad to have found THE Gardener - a well-deserved moniker, indeed.

These folks care about my trees and shrubs as much as I do. I've had them out 2 years in a row now and both crews were polite, professional, and thorough. They actually prune the tress and shrubs as discussed ... it's extremely helpful to NOT have to keep checking to see if what was agreed to is actually what's being done! It's also nice to be able to discuss future planning with knowledgeable folks so I can keep all my yard denizens as healthy and happy as possible. Yeah, they cost a few extra dollars, but if you actually care about whether your trees are healthy it's totally worth it!

I would never use this company again! we hired their…read moreservices about three years ago to conduct a study and issue a report. With the delays of the city over the past year, the city would not accept the "aged" report and asked for a new one. When we called James and asked him to revisit the site and update the report, he claimed that it would cost about the same as the original report. Alt nothing has changed at the property, while waiting for permits from the city, James said it would take even longer to issue a report as he would have to explain any changes from the first report (although the city refused the original report and NOTHING HAS CHANGED ON THE PROPERTY) We decided to reach out to other companies for a competitive price and obtained a price for a totally new report nearly 65% of-this company's price. Now remember, there is no issue of quality of the report as both companies just issue a report on the trees on s and there is no "good" or "bad" repor and hardly any justification for the inflated price and same price for updating the report. Anyway, the conversation with James was far from "giving a dam" about a customer; we paid him over $3k for the report and will now have to pay a little over $2k for a brand new one. Either way, I would never use their services again and suggest that you do the same.
