I'd say the food here at The Toasted Yolk Cafe was pretty decent overall. The service was good as well and the staff were attentive. One thing to keep in mind though, if you're not a fan of cheese, this might not be your spot because it seems like cheese is a big part of many of their dishes. My favorite item was actually one of the sides: the hashbrown casserole. It was really good. Honestly, I wish they offered it as a full dish instead of just a side because I'd absolutely order a big portion of it. I'd definitely come back just for the casserole. read more

If it's just food, then yes yes come!! Servings are HUGE, flavors are wonderful and on point. Prices are fair for the popularity of the place. Our server was kind and fast, but forgot a lot of things unfortunately (just busy). We cleaned up our own table that we were seated at, and our wait list time went from 20 minutes to almost an hour and no real update from the front. Stopped in on a Wednesday morning. Hubby and I sat at the bar and Ella the bartender took great care of us. She was so friendly and attentive. She chatted with my while my husband took a work call. Honestly the best server we have had in a long while. Her morning margarita was delicious. Food is typical breakfast food. I had the original Bennie and my husband has the southern fried Bennie. The food is really, really good. The chicken and waffles are to absolutely die for, as well as these lemon ricotta pancakes as they were called? The place is also well decorated, I wouldn't say it's anything to write home about but far from BAD. I've looked at a couple other reviews and apparently the wait times are long? This was my first visit to the Spring location, and I was really impressed with how inviting the place is. I stopped by on a Sunday morning, and it was quite busy! I opted to sit outside, which may have contributed to the server being less attentive than I would have liked. Despite that, the food was exceptional. I ordered the brisket tacos and the West Coast Arnold, and both were delicious! My only suggestion would be to ensure the West Coast Arnold includes more avocado, as it was barely noticeable, despite being listed as an ingredient. Food was fine bc my expectations of Toasted Yolk are "I want something satisfying, fairly priced, and I don't have to cook...just don't get my order wrong & give good service", and Toasted Yolk usually hits all the marks; this location does anyway. And it may sound petty, but I found it extremely rude for my Hubby and I to be brought our check 5 minutes after receiving our food. Mind you I was already irritated bc the grapefruit juice mimosa I ordered was, LATE, lukewarm, AND I had to ask for water...although Mychal brought a glass of water for my Hubby. Usually when I order a drink our server automatically offers a glass of water. Anyway, I literally had 2 bites of my toast when Mychal placed the check on the table WITHOUT saying "No rush...take your time...whenever you're ready"...NOTHING! I looked at my Hubby then looked at Mychal's other table receiving their checks, THEY WERE ALL COMPLETELY FINISHED EATING! Then the kicker AFTER Mychal placed the check on the table, he finally realized my Mimosa was finished and offered me another. TBH my immediate thought was "you brought the check BEFORE we've eaten 1/4 of our meal while your other tables receiving checks are completely finished with their meals, now you wanna offer another drink, but it's time to go, right???...are we being rushed or is there another reason"? As often as we eat at Toasted Yolk I have NEVER felt this way! I decided to pay the check right then. It was about 11:00 Sunday AM when my wife and I visited Toasted Yolk. We waited for a table and after 10 minutes (which was expected) the manager offered seats at the bar which we accepted. We waiting another 10 minutes to be waited on. The party to our left were seated after us and was asked for their order. If that wasn't bad enough, the two people behind the bar were both feeding their face with oatmeal while ignoring my wife and I. Horrible customer service. Toasted Yolk was overall a decent brunch spot in terms of food. I may go to a different location next time due to the ambiance and service though. There are just a few vegetarian options on the menu. If you are looking for vegan only (no eggs) I only saw a basic salad available. I got the vegetarian scramble with hashbrowns and biscuit. The portion size was huge!! This made up for the high price tag. The biscuit was very heavy on the butter, but tasty. Hashbrowns are mixed in with cheese so they are not crispy like most other restaurants. The egg scramble was tasty overall. I also tried the apple french toast which was tasty and not too sweet. Service was ok. It was a Sunday so they were busy inside. Our server forgot to give my friend her cappuccino until she brought it up. However, had to give -1 star because the location itself was dirty and there was a fly flying around our food. Went here two months ago for brunch with my family. It was busy but our server was amazing. I had the chicken and waffles and my son had pancakes and my husband had the breakfast burrito. Husband and son loved their food. My son sometimes doesn't eat all of his food but this pancake was eaten halfway and its a pretty big size pancake. My chicken and waffles were great as it had a spicy kick with the jalapeños. I love how it gives the spicy and sweet taste at the same time when you add syrup. Wow... where to start... Aug 11 2024. We arrived and were seated as nomral. While we waited we noticed there was no air conditioner running. I asked the hostess and she said it had been broke for 24hrs. They failed to let anyone know when walking in the door that they had no AC when it was in the upper 90s outside. Miserable inside... we decided to sit outside since there atleast would be a breeze. Then I proceeded to order a grilled greeek salad which had "grilled chicken" on it in the menu. I got my salad and it had "shaved deli chicken" on it not grilled chicken. Processed chicken isn't grilled chicken. Utterly dissatisfied with the lunch today. Beware.... My family, friends and I have been visiting this location since its opening. We recently moved and didn't like the closer location so when nearby we stop at this 99/Spring location. However the last two visits have been disappointing. Greated nicely only to wait up to 10mins just for a drink order. Both last two visits, we were told that they didn't know either where our waitress/waiter was or who was suppose to service our table. Which delayed our food order. Food quality is even go downhill. Both visits food arrived cold to include most recently undercooked pancakes making my son sick from a mouthful of batter. Don't know if it's under new management or ownership but this is saddening how well it was and where it's headed. read more

Food and service were exceptionally bad today, especially the service. The food was heavy (classic eggs Benedict) with a hard and tough piece of ham, a thick hollandaise lacking flavors of lemon and butter. Sides of cheesy grits and hash brown casserole were ok. After my adult son and I were seated, the host asked if we'd like anything to drink while waiting on the server. My son answered that he'd like an orange juice, while I had to think about it due to an upset stomach. The host was very impatient, and said, "I'll just get you a water while you decide." I stopped him, and ordered a Coke Zero. I wasn't able to eat much food, and the server came back and reached for my plate ... with most of the food still on it! I stopped him, and he said "Are you still picking on it?" I said yes and that I would like a to-go box, which he came back with quickly. I was loading up the box when a new man showed up and reached for my plate saying "let me clear this off the table for you.". I had to assertively tell him to wait while I loaded, but he clearly wasn't interested in what I was doing. I managed to dump it in quickly, and he glanced back at me while walking away with a squinty glare. I was there around 11 am, and they close at 3.
