It's a very narrow building with multiple levels with each level feeling like a whole new place. The main floor is an ordinary bar to lounge, order drinks and listen to some music. It's sort of the least busy part of this location. Downstairs is more like a club! There's partying, the room is dimly lit and music is blasting. You're walking shoulder-to-shoulder with everyone. People are walking around carefully with drinks in their hands while grooving to the party music in the basement. It's very warm in here as you'd expect in any club. If you go upstairs, you have two options. There's another bar up here and on one side, it seems they've prepared a dance floor with a DJ. The other side of the upper floor has a pool table if you want a quieter environment. It's a cool experience and something I'd recommend people at least trying out if they're looking for a night life in Gaslamp. read more

I came here while visiting from out of town. I ordered the jalapeño dip and bread. It wasn't too bad and the beer was cold, but at 9:15 a staff member came and asked me for my chair. Apparently at 9:15 they take all the chairs away from the bar to make more room for standing, including people who are still eating and drinking. There isn't a chance of me coming back here because I'm a visitor to the city, but taking away a chair from someone in the middle of eating is really weird. I ordered 7 shots & Tipsy added some interesting numbers. They hid charges in the Toast payment terminal vs showing you an itemized list of charges. $109.88 for 7 little shots. I showed friends my receipt & they all agreed this is BS charging. My other tab for $40 for 2 drinks didn't text to me either. Special Taxes? Why put the credit card surcharge on the tab too? This is on top of service charges. County & State Taxes... Put very clear signs up if you're going to add all these extra fees. this review is specifically during halloween weekend. though we didn't have any trouble getting in and it wasn't as crowded (yet), we absolutely loved the drinks. however, the food service was weird. i only say this because my group ordered food and when it was delivered, our food was combined into one plate so i ended up accidentally eating my friends soup because it was on the same plate as my sandwich and chips.... the server didn't tell us anything or warn us about this. my friend had to reorder something else so that she could get soup this time - the soup was NOT in a bread bowl as advertised. this part was just super disappointing. again, i would only come here for the drinks as the food isn't the same since the last time we came (last year) for beetlejuice themed drinks. really liked walk on the beach AND dreamsicle! read more

This is a multi-level bar in Gaslamp SD. Each level has a different DJ that plays different genres. We loved the main level DJ and even though there wasn't a dance floor on that level, we were able to dance by the bar. The lower level is where majority of the dance floor is but its gets super hot and crowded down there. Drinks were suuuuuuper strong - good or bad depending on what you like! They even have a fun photo booth you should check out! read more

I let the bartender know I'd prefer kettle rocks and I'd pay for the mule, but she was kind enough to not charge me for it. The lobster rolls held their own. We were helped by a lady on the second floor which was a godsend since she managed to keep up with all of the tables while maneuvering around crowded bar areas. The food was not tested as we already ate, but the drinks were as expected and not too too life changing. The decoration and vibe of the place was cool, but I think that I would have liked seeing the lower level but it was closed off. There weren't many games or activities to do and the dance floor was pretty small / less desired than expected. I've been coming to this bar since 2011. Never before in my life have I been so disrespected and humiliated by a security guard than on this night. On 01/03/26 I came up to the front entrance and I was either reciting a song or going over my own lyrics as I am a poet. After a few minutes of this I went to enter and a short hispanic security guard haughtily told me "You look odd. And I saw you over there talking to yourself. I'm not letting you in." I explained that I wasn't "talking to myself" I was reciting music (my own or somebody else's , as I often do karaoke). He said "Ok. I'm still not letting you in." with an attitude. What the hell? Never once have I caused an issue at this bar. All the security guards know me. I've never seen this guy before in my life so I guess he thought he could bully me for no reason. What a shame. To top it all off when I got irritated with him he laughed in my face and loudly yelled "Weirdo!!" at me in front of multiple witnesses. This is disgusting behavior and incredibly unprofessional. I've been to The Tipsy Crow countless times and never been so insulted and mistreated. I don't know the guard's name but is a short dude, I believe hispanic. I will find out his name and report this to the manager. This was beyond unacceptable. He continued to sneer and laugh at me while i was outside in shock at being turned away. What a jerk. read more

We decided to come here after dinner because the pictures made it look unique and we liked that it had a pool table. The first floor had a bar and different seating areas. The second floor also had a bar and had a cool room for the pool table that had bookshelves and big chairs. It had a great window space with a street view of gaslamp. The ceiling just outside that room was painted and had pink and purple lights on it. It was a bit speak easy feeling and had great decor throughout. The tables had big connect 4 on the tables as well. The music was mostly 80s music and the rooms were brighter until 9pm. At 9pm it turned into more club like music and the lights were dimmed. A server came to our table and took our drink orders. The bar was close to our table and it took quite some time to get our 3 drinks. The vodka triple sec drink was watery and not very good. The blackberry mojito had great flavor and chunks of blackberries that were tasty. The Paloma was good as well with fresh grapefruit juice. The service was slow and she didn't do much for us. I came here on a Sunday night around 11 PM, and I love that they stay open late. The bottom floor was pretty packed, but upstairs had a pool table, high tops, another bar, and even a DJ. It's definitely in a busy area so parking can be a pain. They have 3 floors here. Their is a pool table upstairs, which you have to put money in it or a card in order to use it. It's $2.00 a game. Overall entire staff is very polite and helpful. When I asked about HH specials for beer the waitress looked at me like she had never heard of such a thing. 2 people, we ordered an appetizer, and two entrees. Coming inside was cute. I was disappointed because online it says you can explore all 3 floors that are decked out in Grinch. We were only allowed on the first floor so that was disappointing. My main complaint is that there was only one bartender and it took forever to get one drink which is why we decided to leave the bar after we were done with our first round. There was a lot of wait time, first for the bartender to get our order and then the order of drinks to be given. The drinks were very aesthetic and really good.
