We stumbled upon The Tiny Turtle when looking for a place to grab a late lunch after going to the Brevard Zoo and are so happy we did. It's 5 stars all around! Our server Grace and the other staff were great. The front patio is a great place to chillax with some apps and cool refreshing beverages. There's a nice buffer of trees so you don't feel like you're sitting right on the sidewalk. The Sofrito bowl with Mahi Mahi was amazing. The black bean rice with the guacamole and beach slaw worked so well together. Topping it with perfectly cooked Mahi completely put it over the top. I loved the way all the flavors complimented each other. The chicken and cheese empanadas were freshly cooked and tasted great. We can't wait to go back!

Small carribean inspired spot. I stopped in on a Monday during lunch hours in the off season. It was slow so the food arrived to my table quickly. I ordered a small sofrito nacho plate with mahi mahi. It had a hint of spice but was mostly covered in wet sauces. I love condiments & I love a saucy dish but it was a bit much with salsa, guacamole, sour cream & some type of house sauce. It all kind of overpowered the meal. It didn't really hit the spot for me. Menu is intentionally small and somewhat the same dish served in different ways; burrito, salad, bowl, nachos, etc. Service was great! Very friendly and welcoming.

I love the chill , island vibes here! They even played music from one of my favorite bands- Stick Figure. The CB punch drink was so tasty and delicious , it's a blend of the perfect amounts of rum and juices. Sofrito bowl was the best! Again, perfectly balanced flavors and fresh! A little slice of home in Cocoa Beach. Bravo Chef Moises! Hadn't had a tripleta like that since the food trucks outside University of Puerto Rico (UPR). Cafe con leche on point. Chill vibes.

Pros: Ambiance is very cool. Very beachy, semi-tiki, mellow and chill. There's a nice outdoor patio dining room that we sat in, covered to keep the sun out. Service was pretty good. Our server was nice enough, and the food came out in no time. No concerns there. As for the food, it was simple, but delicious. Who knew that adding some Island seasoning to some basic dishes can really make them pop? Cons: The server, who struck me as a manager, didn't have a good working knowledge of the drink menu at all, but we made due. Tips: Get the nachos, and get the catch of the day on them. If you've never had fish nachos before, you will love them. Also, get the burrito if you like burritos. Some breakfast burritos fall kind of flat and are disappointing, but these were gooood.

We came here one day while we were exploring the Space Coast a little bit. We have a buddy who lives out there, so we parked by his condo and walked over here to the Tiny Turtle. We chose the Turtle because it landed on the best places to eat in the US in 2024, which is a pretty prestigious list, so we were pretty excited. Ambiance was sooo chill. It's right next door to the best ice cream on the coast, the Fat Donkey. Thatched roof, tiki stuff, lots of outdoor seating. Nice vibes. Service was prompt and mostly the same: chill, beachy, islandy. Very nice lady. She struck me as the owner, or at least management. As for the food, we opened up with an appetizer. We got the nachos and for the protein, we chose the catch of the day, I think it was mahi that day. No one I was with had had fish nachos before, but they quickly became fans. The fish flaked well, and there were plentiful toppings that were layered well. It was also not a very large dish, so you didn't have to ration your protein too much. You could just eat and enjoy. I moved on to my main entrée, the Triple T Toastie (Scrambled eggs, white American cheese, shredded cheese, potato sticks, and Creme Caribe pressed in Sobao bread. Choice of veggies, bacon, sausage or ham. - Upgrade to all 3 meats). Of course I upgraded to all three meats. Very good sandwich. Excellent, quality fillings, bread that was pressed hard and delicious, and it was large enough to contain all the fillings and not be leaking out and falling out everywhere. A well crafted sandwich, paired well with the potato sticks that added a very satisfying crunch. I also got to eat half of a Wake up Burrito Scrambled eggs, potato hash, Queso Caribe, guacamole, sour cream, roasted tomatillo sauce, and Creme Caribe. Choice of bacon, sausage, chorizo, ham, Roasted Island Pork). Very good burrito, stuffed to the brim, and able to be picked up by hand, which was good, I don't like knife and fork breakfast burritos. Overall, this was a super chill, super cozy little place that can offer you a delicious breakfast before you head out to get your beach on. Or where you can send a runner to get some takeout and bring it to you while you're On the beach. Really nice. I hope to come back one day.

We ate here on our last day for lunch. We loved it. So disappointed that we didn't try it sooner. The Tripleta sandwich is delicious and so is their freshly squeezed orange juice. Our son and his friend enjoy the island tacos.

Holy crap this place has such big portions, but I am loving it! My husband and I ordered the sofrito bowl and cuban to split, and it was honestly so much food. We left feeling STUFFED - but it's hard to complain when the food was delicious. No regrets! The Cuban had a lot of meat and soft bread, which I appreciated because I don't like my sandwich bread to be too hard and painful to eat. For the sofrito bowl, I recommend getting the plantain and coleslaw as the added sides! I will definitely be returning!

We love it here! Even with all the bar options nearby, this is our go-to. It's never overly crowded and the employees are friendly and attentive. We have loved the empanadas and I had a DELICIOUS wrap today. The plantains seemed well cooked and were super good. Yum!

A Hidden Gem with Caribbean Flavor! We've been to Cocoa Beach many times and somehow never heard of Tiny Turtle--but now we'll never forget it. A few locals recommended it to us on separate occasions, so we finally checked it out--and we're so glad we did! The food was excellent--we had the Tripleta sandwich and the cheesesteak, both absolutely mouthwatering. The bread was soft and fresh, and the flavors were spot on. The menu has a Latin-Caribbean flair, thanks to the Puerto Rican chef, and it really shows in the seasoning and creativity. Service was great--Murphy took care of us and made the experience even better. The beers were ice cold, and we were excited to see Medalla, a local Puerto Rican beer, on the menu. It was quiet when we arrived--so quiet we almost left--but we came between lunch and dinner, so we get it. Still, this place deserves to be packed. We've learned they've been around for about 12 years, and now we'll be recommending them just like the locals did with us. Don't miss this spot. It's a true gem with delicious food and warm, friendly vibes.

This is my second review one year later and the food is just as good. We've never eaten inside the restaurant as we always get it to go but the inside is a cool vibe with the bar room separate from the dining area. They have local art for sale as well as some merch and souvenirs. We called for pickup right at the transition from breakfast to lunch so our order took about 30 minutes from call to out the door. We will be back again to try the breakfast burrito, but this time got a pork and a chicken Sofrito burrito. They're so good every time. I really hope this place stays in business!

I love the atmosphere felt very Florida like and once you're inside, it really doesn't seem that tiny. Of my aunt and I had tacos and they were all delicious. We finished the meal with Keylime pie . It was a bit nontraditional and seemed a little bit more like a cheesecake, but I really enjoyed it. My aunt had really expected more of a traditional key line so she wasn't quite as happy with her although she enjoyed the taste . Overall, I had a great experience

I had such a wonderful experience at The Tiny Turtle! To start off, i order their puerto rican coffee which was delicious and given in such a cute and comfortable mug. I ordered their wake up burrito and it was so delicious and filling. My friends let me try their plates, and it was all so yummy! The music was really good too as it was calming and fit their island vibe that the restaurant has. Their employees are really nice too. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to get some delicious breakfast! read more

This was a great find after a day at the beach. The casual atmosphere, family friendly service and amazing food was just what we were looking for. Everything on the menu looked good but we chose the fish tacos, trifletta and ocean wrap. Added some pina coladas. Very fresh! I sat outside, very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyed the braised island chicken sofrita bowl. It was a true taste explosion, the freshest ingredients all blending perfectly together. The beef empanadas were amazing. The tripletta looks like a panini in the picture, it's not. It's a huge sandwich. If you like a big hoagie roll, this is the sandwich for you. Wife had the sofrito bowl. She said it was good, and healthier than other options but not our favorite. read more

We went for breakfast which was amazing. Lots of different Caribbean style choices that make a great change of pace from other breakfast spots. Very cool decor and reggae music playing. The service was perfect and very accommodating of a special request. Bacon Mac Daddy Cakes were very inventive and delicious. The food was so fresh and tasty that it was almost gone before I got a picture. The mahi mahi taco was incredible and the chicken sofrito wet burrito was exceptional. It seemed to have a slight curry(?) taste to it which made it even more tasty. The service was very personable and our order was quick and hot. If your looking for a change from the typical seafood restaurant in the area, this is the place for you. The Tripeletta sandwich was incredible and the black beans and rice are exactly what you would expect from a traditional Puerto Rican restaurant. The portions are massive and easily shareable. I hesitate to give this place a good review because I like the laid back chill vibe without the tourists. But everything here is so awesome I can not help myself. All you need to know is one word, Sofrito! Bowl or burrito, doesn't matter. In my opinion Pork is the best. But every meat is amazing. They also have great beer options. Chillin on the patio is the best way to enjoy your meal. But the inside is very cool too. This is a MUST stop for lunch before a day at the beach. Enjoy! read more

This place is so adorable! The exterior and interior are very beachy and the ambiance is relaxing. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well. My waitress was very helpful and helped me out with options on how to make my dish vegan. As an appetizer my party had chips with guacamole and salsa - the portion was very large and we were all very happy! For my main entree I got the Quinoa Wrap with a side of maduros and black bean rice. Everything was so delicious and the portions were great for the price. I am giving 3 stars for food taste but quality and service was lacking. We looking for brunch on Sunday morning and Puerto Rican flare sounded interesting. We had a breakfast burrito, soft breakfast taco and a piece of French toast. I will say that the food was good as far as taste but the service and attention to detail is severely lacking. The burrito had bacon instead of chorizo and the soft taco didn't have any meat on it. The French toast was dry and cold. Service was slow and she refills were only about halfway on my coffee. The waitresses here were almost to high to function. The waitress got me a cup of queso, and she told me "be careful it's hot." It must of been because she dropped it on the table right in front of me. She seemed surprised, said sorry, and walked away to get me another thing of queso. I thought she might get something to help clean up the mess.......but I guess not. Also, there was a huge pork bone in my burrito. Good thing I cut it open before eating, or else, I would have had bitten right into it. Other than that, food was okay. I mean, you might just expect the waiters to be high. I really enjoy the food from this restaurant! It's very good! The Sofrito bowls are to die for!! Highly recommend! However, the restaurant is very laid back and the wait staff can take a while to get to you, especially if you sit out front. Everyone is very kind, I'm just from a busy city so I'm not used to the slow wait. I also think I should mention that the last time I went there, my friend found plastic bits in his meal. Awesome little spot near the beach! The shrimp tacos were amazing and their desserts were also great! The key lime pie and dulce leche cake were flavorful! Stopped by for breakfast today and thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and vibe. We opted for an outdoor counter seat in the covered patio. Can I give this place 6 stars? If I could I would. I've been coming to Cocoa Beach for years and I can't believe that I've waited this long to have tried TT. I'm from the Caribbean (Puerto Rican/Cuban) so I'm biased (which could be good or bad in this instance). So when I finally took my FIL advice, I was a bit reluctant. Well I was blown away. I got the tripelta. Wow! Amazing flavors. The bread was "criollo". The maduros were perfect. As someone who doesn't care for coleslaw, BEST COLESLAW EVER!!! Seriously. I then went back and got their shrimp and pork tacos. As someone who fancies themselves as a taco snob, see my post history, I was over the moon with how good they were. Again, the the flavors are robust and have you wanting more. Their in-house sauces are amazing. I then went back and got their house specialty, the soffrito bowl. By this point I had expected it would be delicious. And it absolutely was. It has everything you want. In a two week span I went there 5 times. I'll definitely be coming back next summer. Great staff, great vibe, and even better food. Thanks for everything. read more

I had visited this little jewel back in January with my oldest daughter and loved it. This time I took my youngest and she loved it. It has all the flavors from the island, you can close your eyes and feel like your in Puerto Rico! Outdoor patio seating, dog friendly, Caribbean vibe. Servers both times were friendly and helpful. Like many restaurants they are under staffed so be patient with servers. It was an unassuming place. Service was friendly. Food was great. Drinks were large and boozy. The only draw back was the guacamole. It was bland. But everything else was awesome. I had the Mahi-mahi bowl and my hubby had the shrimp bowl. Both cooked to perfection. We had the trio dips and chicken empanadas. Yummy. read more

History

Established in 2013.

Inspired by his Grandmother's and Mother's cooking, the flavorful Sofrito base of Puerto Rico, and his own restaurant experiences, Chef Moises has created a menu and environment that will transport you to an island experience full of flavor and a laid back feeling. Opening during the famed Art Show that happens every year in Downtown Cocoa Beach as what was called Food Truck Style, being just a kitchen on the back of a building with a patio and picnic tables for seating, it has now evolved into a full service restaurant but still giving that feeling of a small local "Hidden Gem".

Meet the Business Owner: Moises y Kelly C.

Born in Puerto Rico Moises' family moved to Florida in the 80's spending the first couple years in South Florida and then relocating to Central Florida. Always having the dream of owning his own restaurant he was given the opportunity after meeting a good friend a couple years after moving to Cocoa Beach. He had spent 2 years prior to the start of The Tiny Turtle gaining knowledge and experience in the restaurant field. Each opportunity he grew into lead cook, managing the kitchen and creating new menu items. He has been surrounded by many, including his wife Kelly, that have all had a part at helping him fulfill his dream and is forever grateful for the love and support.

I made a reservation for 6 at 1:30 pm on Mother's Day. When we arrived, we waited 10 -15 minutes in the host line before we were greeted. This, coupled with the fact there were lots of empty tables that had not been bussed, let me know that the restaurant was not equipped to handle the volume of customers and was in the weeds. When we told the host we were a party of 6 with a reservation, he seemed surprised and distraught - immediately leaving to bus one of the tables. A quality restaurant would have expected us and had our table prepared prior to our arrival. Multiple people in our party mentioned the host's frantic demeanor. I don't blame him - it was clear the restaurant was overwhelmed, despite so many empty tables. Was the kitchen backed up? We were sat at the table and the server was very pleasant - a very nice woman. She brought out the water - tap water which smelled and tasted a little funny. I would have expected filtered or bottled water, especially when the tap water quality was poor. At this point, given the above, we decided to leave. If the experience up to this point was not up to par, we didn't want to take our chances. We've seen too many Kitchen Nightmares episodes to take the risk. Chaos in the front of house is normally correlated to chaos in the back. Hopefully the restaurant takes our constructive criticisms to heart and tries to make some improvements. Beach bar .. nice view, lousy drinks. Overall a costly and enormously disappointing weekend.

AMAZING! After a long day at the pier we wanted something healthy and filling. We were looking for Jamaican and came across The Tiny Turtle... what a brilliant find. We split the Islander Wrap and Tripleta and were in heaven!!! Whether you're a tourist or a local this is a MUST try. My family and I have been coming here since they first opened. We absolutely love their food, service, staff and atmosphere. The Owners are one of the nicest and most generous people I know in Cocoa Beach. Their pork and mahi sofrito bowls are to die for. So delish! Taco Tuesdays are still our fave time to come!
