I've made orders from The Tile Shop 3 times now for different projects. The store is always clean and well organized, the sales staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about their products. All three of my orders have arrived on location before their expected delivery date and the staff does help you load. My last order I was lucky enough to purchase on a clearance sale for a great discount! Also, they have a well designed website for browsing product or putting in orders. My wife and I recently redid our small entryway. We had looked at lowes and home depot, but they only had tile that looked like the stuff house flippers would use. We decided to give this store a try and were beyond happy that we did. We went to the DIY tiling class that they have on saturdays at 9:30am. In about 30 minutes, we felt fairly comfortable with what we needed to do and how to do it. All of the employees were very helpful and you could tell that they all liked their jobs. Someone helped us pick out the tile we wanted and then helped us to design an even nicer tiling design by suggesting that we frame the white marble hexagonal tiles with some dark grey quartz rectangular tiles. They made sure we had everything we would need to get the job done- the tiles, tile saw, grout, sealant, trowels, etc and that we knew how to use it all. We were so happy with the service we received here that I even sent an email to the manager complimenting the store. Go here; you will be happy you did. read more

Great service from a very helpful staff. The manager was responsive and helpful. I would give them 5 stars , but the delivery driver was terrible. I understand they contract out for delivery , so the following comment is in no way a poor reflection on the store. Ladies, be sure to have a man present when your order arrives. The driver was rude , dropped my palettes causing damage, threatened to leave the tile on the street in front of my house and cursed like a sailor because he didn't approve of my homes driveway. BTW , all of this took place in outside the rain . After much drama and my threat to return the entire order he carelessly unloaded the truck. I had to call friends to buy tarps and bungee cords to protect the grout and mud cement until help arrived. In the pouring rain, with the assistance of two friends , we carried the entire order weighing 1800 pounds, to a safer place. read more

After several lackluster tile-shopping experiences at the usual home improvement stores, my husband and I decided to try the Tile Shop. We figured the extra cost of a specialty store might be worth the investment, since we didn't like anything we'd seen to date. On entering the Tile Shop, I was greeted with a smile by Keenan, who listened attentively to my list of design must-haves and showed me relevant options. He helped me with the basics of tile and stone selection. I later returned to the store with my husband and showed him the fantastic ideas Keenan had helped me to assemble. Store Manager Chad was there to guide us through the next round of decision-making. Chad further explored our design sensibility, and helped us select an ensemble that met both my affinity for creative panache and my husband's demand for a classic appeal. I braced for the budget-cracking news on our newly-selected and beautiful stone design. Boom! The cost was reasonable, as Chad offered us a generous discount. I had a very good experience today at the tile shop. The person who waited on me was a gentleman who was a relatively new employee. He was incredibly helpful explaining all the various options, possibilities, even troubleshooting some ideas for a small bathroom. He wrote out an estimate and was as gracious and helpful as any sales person I've met previously.I believe his name is Jeremiah. Terrible service! Nobody will talk to you or offer help. Their showroom is gorgeous and merchandise is very high end but it looks like you need to bring your decorator with to help. My husband and I are going to tile the bathroom ourselves. We went on a weekday, there were 2 other customers in the store being waited on. Showroom was very nice and they appeared to be moving some stock around. Terrible service. We went back to the help desk area where a man on the computer finished what he was doing and walked away. An "I'll be back in a minute to help you" would have been nice. Perhaps we were invisible? We continued walking around the store. One person finally asked us if we need help and I said yes and, wait for it, she walked away completely ignoring us. What? We finished looking around the store but received no help. Sale lost. We will be shopping elsewhere and won't be returning here again. read more

My husband and I had been shopping months for tile for our bathroom and couldn't find anyone to pull a design together we both liked. We decided to try the Tile Shop. The man helping us created a wonderful design we both finally could agree on. Since we had been shopping around for the last several months we figured the design he put together would be way out of our budget. Needless to say it was extremely less than what we expected to pay!! We have received so many compliments on our bathroom! The professionalism and creative design work of the staff was the best we have encountered from all of the places we shopped. The quality and pricing is the best around. I am a contractor and installed tile the customer picked out for there bathroom walls and floor. The tiles they bought where not meant to be used for the floor but the "tile shop" told them they could be used for a floor and also it says on there own website the application is for walls. So in turn the floor tiles cracked, I replaced them, they cracked again. Tile shop will not accept reponsibility for there mis-information to the customer so the customer has to pay for a whole new floor with new tiles that can be used for floor applications, the tile shop will not offer and help to the situation they caused. I stopped by the store with the customers order form and asked one of the salesman there if they can be used for a floor application and he said no. I in turn told the customer so they went to speak with the manager, the manager said its fine for floors even with all the contradicting information. The second time I spoke to the manager she said I was harassing her. When I told her the store's website said its for walls, the site was taken down all of a sudden, but it seems to be back up now. Horrible Customer service! After spending $5,000+ on tile we had about $500 to return ( the salesperson, who no longer is there, totally miscalculated order ). Because it had been longer that 6 months ( project delayed because of $$) they would not return it, even though the tile was never touched and in original boxes! read more

Well, if you are doing something simple that will not require much more than square tiles slapped up on green board and some bullnose it is probably OK. More complex designs and orders seem to be fraught with errors. I am in the midst of a job and there have been multiple mishaps related to quality assurance at multiple levels. Here is a sampling: The first was understandable - we are using travertine and the stone of course has variation - but there was so great a demarcation (half was mottled gray as expected but the other half was stark white, nearly like cararra) that I had to go back several times and reorder to gets things that matched reasonably. One would have thought that when they put the order together it would be obvious. The second issue was that I ordered two skirting out corners, but the profile of the out corners (not the color) does not match the profile of the skirting itself - everything was mismatched by about a half inch so it was basically unusable. When I took it in and showed them, they "investigated" and stated that that was how it was and they could not help me because it was clearly a supplier (rush river stone) mis-match or error. So basically I am stuck with having to miter corners on the skirting instead of using out corners - it is manageable but certainly not what was planned. Further, I emailed the tileshop company about this two weeks ago, thinking they would like to know that there is a generic mismatch in products that are supposed to match, and have gotten no reply whatsoever. The third was that when we got into the job, it became evident that the original order was shorted about ten pieces of a travertine "durand". They have tried to get more, but have not succeeded as yet, so the job is now stuck at that point and waiting. All of these issues have had the effect of setting the job back several days each time. So I would beware using them for anything except the simplest of installations. Anything more than that seems beyond their level of competence and quality assurance. read more

I was in yesterday and not one person approached me to help. I understand most people don't want to be bombarded by sales associates as soon as they enter an establishment, but I received no greeting, no "can I help you?", no "I'll be with you in a moment." NOTHING!! I walked around by myself, took some photos and was in clear shot of at least 5 employees yacking about their weekend plans. The day prior, I had been in Devon, PA at the Devon Tile & Design Studio. Absolutely fabulous! Do yourself a favor and go there first. Glass, tile, porcelain, stone, mixed media, and a lot more! First of all, the show room is gorgeous. I want to live in all the sample rooms they have created. Talk about an idea gallery. I bought tiles from them numerous times. I recommend going once just to look and then once to land on the perfect tile. My first project was for a house I inherited and needed to re-do 2 baths completely and the kitchen floor. The stock is nothing like the boring things they have at home depot and lowes. The person helping me, made suggestions and explained differences in the various marbles which impacted pricing. I realized marble is not marble--they are not all the same and buying the cheapest will be a disaster. (My sister had bought the cheapest marble for her bathroom at another store and within 2 years all the shine is gone---mine has lasted 4 years already). The bathrooms and kitchen at the house I inherited sold the first day it was on the market for $75K higher than the asking price in a bidding war. I then re-did my parents kitchen, sunroom, and bathrooms with tile from The Tile store. They got to enjoy it for 3 years and the second day the house was on the market it sold for the asking price. This week, i decided it was time to re-do my kitchen and of course went back to the Tile Store. So many gorgeous choices. read more
