After five years of ordering and having no problems, I thought this was a loyal respectable Place the other day I ordered two onion rings and one french fry. I picked up my order got home cause I live right around the corner here and it was messed up and it was two french fries one onion ring I called in and I thought that it was fixed.They said oh we owe you a order of onion rings I was like oh I can't come back just put me on the books. I called today for my rings and apparently there's no memory of that whoever answered the phone tonight at 7:00 PM on Sunday August 4th really needs to go back to customer care training because she was rather freaking rude and nobody in their right mind that works for their cash would ever be dead caught spending their cash and a place like this needless to say I would not waste my cash and a place that's gonna treat a customer five years like a piece of shit.. go to McDonald's instead for that customer care at least it's cheaper. read more

A friend recommended we try them for a good juicy burger. And man did they deliver!!! So so very good! The juice runs down your arms and I promise you won't mind! The ONLY downside I have is the cash only. I never carry cash so it can't be an impulse place to go. We have to plan the visit . But now we order from there about once a month. Yummmmm!!! read more

Small town bar with awesome burgers, cheap beer and quaint atmosphere. They are cash only but there is a ATM inside. We have never had a bad meal and the owners and staff are very pleasant to deal with and mature. If you play pool there is one table where you can play a game for about a buck. We picked up burgers and fries to take home based on other yelp reviews. Did not disappoint. Order was ready when they quoted it would be. The burgers were fantastic! Not super greasy, bacon and cheese in between each patty not just on top. Fresh toppings! The fries were bigger but not quite steak fries. Well cooked though, did not have a mushy fry. So this is easily my wife and I's new favorite place in the Michiana area. We found it when we were house hunting one night and fell in love. They are cash only so keep that in mind but they have an ATM in the establishment. It really is by far the best burger I've ever had anywhere. They cook to order, and have plenty of topping options. For me I always get a double bacon cheeseburger with ketchup mustard pickle mayo and grilled onions. Their appetizers are delicious (and affordable compared to other places.) they have a decent drink selection and a billiards table! We ate here last night. I was jealous when my parents say they have gone without me. I was up from Indianapolis and requested to go. We go to have the bacon cheeseburger and they are always delicious. On past trips I have had the onion rings and mushrooms, which are also delicious. This time I had the sweet potato fries which were just okay. It is very dark inside and they only accept cash. When you drive by it would probably appear to be a hole in the wall place that some wouldn't stop, but I say go for it and give it a try. read more

My coworker picked The Tavern for her anniversary lunch. We walked in at 12:30 and they got us right in. There were ten of us and they had a round table that comfortably seated us all. The waitress was friendly and prompt, never missed a beat. I ordered my cheeseburger "smashed" meaning squished to make it thinner. The cheeseburger was good but I have had better, think Five Guys. I also ordered the seasoned fries and spicy pepper jack cheese balls. The cheese was great! The seasoned fries were fine, nothing to complain about but I will say they reminded me of some I've made at home from the freezer. I think I'll try the traditional fries next time. My coworkers all liked their meals including a BLT, chicken tenders and huge onion rings. They had really interesting and unique bottled beer and sodas. Went there to celebrate a coworkers one years anniversary. Very small with approximately 8 booths on the right side as you come in. There is bar seating as well, however only one large table for groups bigger than 4 for people. The rest of the area is taken up by one pool table. The food is typical bar food somewhat limited in burger, chicken wings and stick, some fish as well. Mediocre food. Terrible service. You have been warned! Tonight we went there the first time (definitely the last). Eight of us got the big table at the corner, ordered drinks and food. For the next hour, the waitress passed by with her forced smile ensuring us that the food is coming. We were on our way to a haunted house, so finally my friend walked up to the bar and asked for the check. After another 15 minutes I did as well, and got the same "your food is ready". The food arrived an hour and 20 minutes after we ordered, and the waitress acted like nothing happened. It took another 15 minutes to get the check. If something is wrong with the kitchen, we customers have the right to know how long we need to wait (that's service 101). Lying to customers and making them wait more than an hour for subpar food is pathetic. Even worse, our waitress and the lady at the bar appeared to be bored and disinterested with us the whole time.
