First of all, I LOVE Cappy's! I've worked in Elkhart for nearly a year now, and was introduced to…read morethis establishment by a work colleague. In general, the staff, the drinks (especially the draft/craft beers) and food are outstanding. So far, so good. But earlier today, I ran into a situation that's happened 3 times now. I'm speaking about the inattentiveness of a particular bartender not only to my needs, but to my very presence at the bar, at all.. Now, there are two bartenders at Cappy's who are outstanding - a middle-aged brunette with glasses and a much younger brunette. Both women are genial and hard-working, and I have nothing but good to say about these two. But a third bartender - a middle-aged blonde with glasses and an obnoxiously loud voice - is another story entirely. When I sat at the right side of the bar today, she failed to even look at me for 12 minutes (yes, I was keeping track). Seemingly, she was too busy at the other end of the bar talking with people she knew. At one point, two friendly "locals" sat down to my right, and we began to talk. Soon, this blonde bartender noted that two other local people had left their spots at the other end of the bar - and without asking my conversational partners ahead of time, she proceeded to move them to the other section, presumably because they might know other locals who were seated there. This left me alone in my seat, and with no one to speak with. Thankfully, the genial middle-aged bartender whom I truly appreciate soon began her shift. She tended to me immediately, and I was pleased. After a couple of beers and a polite bit of time, I gently asked her if the blonde bartender was in the habit of catering to "locals" only. She nodded in agreement, and said she'd heard stories about this. I then had a bacon cheeseburger, and was satisfied with the food and the service. But if I walk into Cappy's in the future, and see the loud blonde woman behind the bar, I will turn around and take my business elsewhere. This woman is inexplicably rude, and there's no place for that in an otherwise wonderful little establishment.

I had to write my first food review because of how disappointing this restaurant was. After over an…read morehour wait, our family could not eat any of our food. The nachos and pizza was inedible. The wings were fine. Both bathrooms were completely trashed, didn't have any toilet paper, and were disgusting. There was no service so it took asking over and over for our food to even come out- when it did we had to carry it to the table ourselves. There was only one other table of customers, so they were not busy - the workers were simply not doing anything besides blaring bad music. This is opposite of other reviews so I'm not sure what happened, but I have never had this bad of a restaurant experience and I would never come here again.

Forget the great prices and generous portions.. the quality is what will leave you craving more. Everytime I stop in Buchanan I'm usually seduced by the mouthwatering aroma coming from this place. If you're lucky to be in town when they are open you are in for a treat! From the great sirloin burgers they have starters like white cheddar cheese curds and so much more. Definitely a must stop!! I have to add.. from now on I'll not only be stopping in for a drink and a bit but I will be buying food to take home with me as well! Why does this place have less than 5's? Probably some douche yelper thinking they're food critics. They should get the South Park Golden Badge of being the "top yelper" so that they get the special treatment they deserve. I read a review from ones of these people and I do not believe they waited two hours for their food. I've been there on a Saturday when they were jam packed and they're was one bartender, one cook and one server and my food came out super quick, hot and fresh.. and I don't recall ever having to ask for a refill. They were hustling to get peoples orders out, that time and all other times I've been their the service has been excellent and the food is just great bar food.. a Half pound sirloin cheeseburger with fries is only $10.99 and all the started I saw were $7.99.

I ordered their MADD's burger with seasoned fries and a coke. My lovely wife order their Bulldog burger that comes with chips and a water. The wait wasn't long just 20 min. Then our meals arrived. The Madds burger is a quarter pound burger topped with supposed to be Prime Rib well it ain't Prime Rib. Just thin cut sandwich meat over cooked till there wasn't any pink left and chewy as hell and the quarter pound of meat was so over cooked it too was hard around the edges I almost lost a molar just chewing on the first bite. The only thing that pulled this meal out of the dumpster were the seasoned fries but not by much. Needless to say my wife's sandwich was exactly the same! So damned overcooked it was like trying to eat a charcoal bricket. Mine also came with Au Jue sauce but it was also terrible. Watered down with absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Same with my Coke. Very lite amount of syrup mainly the water that's it's mixed with. I tried to complain but my complaints were falling on deaf ears. So we paid our bill and got the hell out of there NEVER to return.
