Had the Birria pizza with my family on a busy day during the red bull ford racing event. It was only 33$, very filling, and the birria passes. Not exceptional, but it tastes like birria and was yummy. They got the order out pretty quick all things considered. It was really busy, but there was enough seating for 30-40 people inside.

We walked in and the kid behind the counter saw that we were standing around and did not say anything until we figured the kiosk where you can order by yourself. They had things on the menu that they did not even have. I ordered a melon water and ended up with an horchata that was just not it. Won't be going here again for lunch.

The carne asada on the street tacos was dry and the tortilla was odd. I don't know how to explain it except it was weird. The birria taco was a little better. So, if you go get that over the carne asada street tacos. Just my opinion.

I went to taco spot at 8:50 pm to get a burrito and the employee was locking the door even though they close at 9 pm. I asked if I could get a burrito and he asked if I had an online order, I said no but I wanted to order even asked please can I just get a burrito and he kept saying no and continued to lock the door. I've been to taco spot plenty of times and never had a door closed in my face. It's the most unprofessional experience I've experienced at a taco spot location. If your hours are until 9 pm and I didn't do anything wrong.. I should've been served

I love the Surf and Turf fries. I had them add onions and cilantro. There's an sweet orange ish color sauce that's comes with it and it's awesome. I highly recommend it!!!

The food is just not good. The surf n turf taco was on a stale tortilla, frozen shrimp and the carne was oddly sweet. The chicken burrito and the fries were dry and lacked flavour! The ramen birria lacked flavour as well. Overall, the food needs a refresh and salt! I do not recommend.

Birria tacos had no real flavor, the birria ramen also lacked flavor - more watery than stock/consume and the guac was terrible, tasted very sour like they added double the lime it should have had.

Tried the taco spot downtown Phoenix and overall, it was a letdown. Service was fine, but the drink situation was frustrating--fountain drinks were marked as "sold out," so you're pretty much forced to buy an overpriced can or bottled drink unless you want to eat with nothing to drink. As for the food, it was seriously overpriced for what you get. I ordered the Surf & Turf burrito, and my girlfriend got the Birria burrito. Both lacked flavor--she said all she could really taste was the cilantro, not the birria itself. Honestly, we would've been better off going to Chipotle and spending half the money. Only positive? The orange salsa was decent. Other than that, not worth the hype or the price.

The worst taco ever. After waiting for an hour for 3 horrible tacos, this what I get. Paying $4 a taco. Is this even considered a taco? The manager was nice to offer 50% off on my next visit, not knowing what my food looked like because I got them to go, I said thanks and left. Safe to say I won't be going back and they should definitely think of a different name. I wouldn't call this the taco spot because they can't even do that.

I was visiting Phoenix for a work trip and was looking for something to eat and found the taco spot online nearby via DoorDash. The food and the reviews look very good so I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. I decided to order some dinner for tonight and lunch for tomorrow as I'll be working on DoorDash. They had a few promotions so I got three different tacos, (chicken birria and carne asada) and a carne quesadilla for the next day. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Phoenix read more

Ordering was quick and the food came out fast -- though that speed comes at a cost. It's clear the meat is prepped well ahead of time, leaving everything overcooked and dry. We're talking drier than the Arizona desert. The street tacos -- chicken, birria, and steak -- all suffered the same fate. Not a drop of moisture to be found. The refried beans were decent, nothing to write home about. The real highlight, however, was the Melon Agua Fresca, which was absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself was clean and well-kept. A few bright spots, but unfortunately not enough to bring me back. 2/5 stars read more

DRY CHICKEN & STALE TACOS! I was really rooting for this place, the location was cute, the restaurant was clean, and the girl at the counter was so sweet. However, the food is subpar. My tacos had NO flavor and the chicken was cold. I hate when I take a bit of food and the meat is deathly dry, it was not a fun experience. I also ordered a side of beans, wow they were bland! The worst part is that my Mom noticed The Taco Spot uses prepackaged 99 cent ramen for their birria ramen. The staff had the packages oddly placed in the dining area on display. Suddenly, the reason for why the food was bad was upon us, weak ingredients lead to poor quality food. The Taco Spot is located in DT Phoenix, this is a big pass from me. Food was mid I'd say needs more flavor, device is really bad, took at least 30 minutes to have my tacos, they did not provide salsa with it, they don't have a salsa bar so I guess salsa is upon request. Really bad experience. The only good thing was the Hibiscus agua fresca. read more

Arrived into Phoenix this afternoon, and after checking into our hotel, went to this taco joint. Everything was awesome (and we know our tacos). The three of us shared a "Birria Fiesta Tacos" family deal. The tacos were full of meat, and generous toppings of onion, cilantro, and limes on the side. Just as good, if not better than the food, was their employee Lauren. Great customer service on her part, she was very sweet, ensuring that we were well taken care of and happy the whole time. As they say, if we owned a business right now, we would want to hire Lauren to work for us. We will look forward to returning again when we have the chance. read more

This place gave me the WORST food poisoning I've had in my life. I ordered a carne asada burrito and was puking within hours; have had a severe fever for 3 days now aswell as constant bathroom trips. What an absolute letdown. Do NOT eat here if you value your health. No; nothing can change my mind on this either. Close down and have a health inspection. Thanks. read more

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat & even though the shop is a bit small the food packs a big punch! I got the surf n turf burrito & my bf got the quesadilla & fries. All of it was delicious & wasn't too greasy the tortillas holds up from being fully loaded. We ate the food too fast to take a photo but one thing I regret was not getting the fries IN my burrito read more

Small shop, saw it and wandered in for some tacos. I was surprised there wasn't a veggies option but I have been lax on that the past little while. So I am eating the meats and went with the carne asada tacos. They're tiny, if you're thinking 3 will be good, go with 5 or 6. We happened to be in the area again mid morning. The Kid wanted tacos again, my immediate response was it's 9 am they're not gonna.... and much to my surprise, we had tacos shortly after 9 am. The lady behind the counter was absolutely wonderful! To me, the tacos were.... perfect for what they were. The first day I had 2 and the second visit I definitely went for 4. Place was empty with the exception of a few who came in to pick up orders... if my memory serves me correct, it was a bit on the "loud" side, maybe a radio playing overhead? All in all, I imagine if or when we are back in the area, we'll be having tacos, again. read more

Coming from WA state I've been trying to find a good Burrito spot that serves it with more ingredients than just guacamole and beans. This place adds Rice, cheese, lettuce and tomato. Huge difference in taste and flavor. This is the spot to go to and if you get lucky to have Abril take your order consider yourself lucky. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and quality service. read more

Disappointed is what I can say - I was hungry walking with a friend in downtown Phoenix n ran across this place - I thought to myself "it's busy they must be good " so we stop order 2 bean n cheese burritos n 2 chicken tacos - the chicken was dry had no real flavor the bean burrito had no cheese in it n they had no real flavor to it so it was bland - I was very disappointed n we paid 13 bucks for 1 bean n cheese burrito n 4 bucks for a shitty dry chicken taco - I never leave reviews but I feel like anyone who reads this should know to save ur money n pass this place up n eat somewhere else - not worth my money or worth the 20 min I spent waiting very unsatisfied - just saying read more

Quite literally the worst taco spot I have ever been to. The food tasted awful the tacos were nothing like the other taco spots. Why do we have chopped lettuce and tomatoes? What happened to the cilantro and onions? And then the rice was so mushy and had absolutely no flavor what so ever and the customer service was awful. Guy did not want to be there. Take notes from the taco spot in Mesa. I will never go here again. read more

OMG I traveled all the way from Louisiana to Phoenix and found this hidden gem. The Taco spot Downtown location with Glendy was nothing short of amazing. The service was top notch, the restaurant was extremely clean and the food was superb..... I would most definitely recommend to all my family and friends visiting!!! read more

Pricey, for what you get. Carne Asada burrito. Cold rubbery tortilla. Street taco. Stale corn tortilla, Meat was dry. Service was okay. Don't be fooled by the Street taco price. The rest is Pricey, and not great...don't bother. The rice and beans were okay, the beans were a cross of Taco Bell/ and frito bean dip. One more thing.... NOT wheelchair accessible. I thought it was only the carne asada, but when I tried a bite of the el pastor vampiro, I realized that was just as salty. I didn't even make it halfway through before I had to stop eating altogether. The saltiness was so intense it started making me feel sick. My husband tried my food and completely agreed--it was overly salty. I usually like to give places a second chance, but I don't think I will with this one. Maybe someday, but not anytime soon.

Whoever prepped those sweet potatoes deserves a raise because they were cut into the perfect sized pieces. Every bite had a little sweetness, a little crunch, a little saltiness... it just worked. My dining partner ordered the barbacoa tacos, and I didn't even have to ask if they were good. The involuntary "Mmm..." after the first bite answered that question. Four tacos disappeared in record time, followed by, "I could've eaten two more." That's about as glowing of a review as you're going to get. Now let's talk about these tortillas. Handmade. Corn. Tortillas. Are you kidding me? They're the kind of tortillas that had me question every tortilla I've ever eaten. Soft, fresh, and somehow they manage to steal the spotlight even with everything else on the plate being so good. The chips and guacamole were excellent, too. The chips have to be made in-house and they disappeared at an alarming rate. The salsa that came with them had this smoky, fire-roasted, chipotle flavor that kept me reaching for another chip... and then another... and then suddenly I realized I'd eaten way more chips than I intended. We didn't need a reservation since we had a small party, but I would recommend if if you're coming with a party of four or more. We sat at the bar and ordered four dishes from different categories, which was a great way to sample the menu; though honestly I think we probably could have gotten away with just 3 dishes for a party of 2. We tried Yam Mamuang Boran (old-style green mango salad), Boo Pad Pong Garee (crab curry with ginger), Tom Yum Haeng Sen Yai (dry tom yum with wide noodles), and Naem Khao Tot (crispy rice salad with fermented pork sausage).
