I have fallen head over heels for The Table! After a visit to a nearby apple orchard, we stopped in for lunch at The Table. A sophisticated farmhouse style eatery that gives gourmet Main Street USA energy. The Table serves brunch and lunch on Saturdays, so we had lots to choose from. The menu is hearty and has a strong southern influence, but sophisticated with a touch of French bakery. It's everything you want! We were immediately intrigued by the coffee special, which was a banana latte. I'm immediately sold! It was delicious, and you could really taste the banana. We placed our order at the counter, which also features a multitude of irresistible freshly baked desserts. There is seating at smaller tables scattered around the inside, stools around the perimeter at the window, a long community table in the middle, and a wrap around outdoor patio. We chose one of the indoor tables and our lattes arrived shortly after we were seated. We started off with the Mezze platter and I knew I was going to be in for a TREAT. Fresh hummus and veggies, warm pita breads, and the star of the show - the baked feta. I cannot even explain how delicious this was. Melty cheese with flavorful oil, fresh herbs, and a roasted bruschetta. One of the best appetizers of my life. I also really enjoyed the Table fries which were complemented with herby oil, cheese, and citrus aioli. Fresh cut delicious fries, perfect execution. Entrees - I'll admit. We went wild. We had already annihilated the delicious appetizers at this point, but this meal just kept getting better. When they brought the Cuban cornbread waffle to the table I actually gasped. We all know taste is first and foremost but this dish was stunning. Plentiful roasted pork piled atop the waffle with melty white cheddar. The bright and zippy mango cilantro lime relish contrasted the savory flavors perfectly, and gave a beautiful pop of color. The hot honey Dijon drizzle brought it all together. Every bite was full of flavor! Such a unique and tasty dish. I also had to try the quiche, which on our visit was comprised of ham, spinach, squash, onion and cheddar. Again, beautiful plating and this was a super hearty serving. Flaky crust, lots of veggies and cheese. Delightful! The woman who had been bringing our food was ever so kind, and we later realized she is the owner, Dustie. We love a female owned business, and she is just down to earth and so kind. She seemed genuinely appreciative we were enjoying the restaurant so much and taking photos. She actually brought us a piece of their signature chocolate pie to try, and it was out of this world. Dark chocolate flavors, rich and decadent, but velvety smooth. Just flawless. This is the definition of a hidden gem, and without a doubt somewhere I'd happily make the hour trek to eat at again and again. This is the epitome of 5 stars right here! read more

Wow! We loved it so much we went back the next day. A lovely breakfast/lunch (brunch/lunch on weekends) restaurant. Very light, airy, and clean. The grits were the best we've ever had. I can see why this local spot has such great ratings. I wish it was located in Raleigh! I met my mom here at 11 am on a Friday and the line was to the door. The owners have definitely embraced the local community feel (which is awesome) as there are gifts you can look at and buy while waiting...purses, art, candles, different types of nut butter, and so forth. They have a set menu for the bakery, breakfast, and lunch, plus what looked like some seasonal specials. I went with a sandwich (too good to remember specifics) that has turkey, cranberry, cheese, arugula, an egg and other yummy stuff that I devoured. I had a side of their orzo salad which was good. My mom enjoyed her pimento sandwich and we split a delicious piece of carrot cake. I also got an iced vanilla latte. It was made just right. There is lots of outdoor seating (more than indoors, I think) as the "porch" wraps around. Asheboro has evolved so much over the last few years! The table is such a local, delicious spot. We had a latte (shoutout to them using culture coffee which is an Asheville staple). To eat we had the grit bowl which had andouille sausage, goat cheese, blistered tomatoes, and fresh chives. The bowl had a great balance of spice, creaminess and salty! I was recommended to go to this place on my vacation. Drove a half hour to come here and boy was it worth it! When you see people lined up outside to come eat, you know it's worth the wait! Very clean , and modern eating area inside. A large variety of fresh products in their menu. While in line I got to see a huge variety coming out of the kitchen, everything looked delicious, to the point where I changed my mind 3 times while contemplating what to get. The Table is always on point. I got the fall grain bowl and then the soup of the day, which was Mediterranean chicken, delicious! Last time I got from here I ordered That Chicken Sandwich, which was also yummy. The inside of the place is spacious and has community seating as well as some private tables. I usually see people here enjoying lunch and working. They have an outdoor seating section as well that I would love to enjoy someday. I have heard so many wonderful things about The Table, so we decided to eat here when passing through Asheboro. Parking is easy at the lot across the street. We arrived at 12:30, and there was a long line. It was moving quickly. You order at the counter and can sit inside or outside. My son had the kid's turkey sandwich with soup. I ordered the That Chicken Sandwich with soup. I think it is nice they do not upcharge you for soup. The kind we got was Thai beef and vegetables. The soup was flavorful, and I had never had a soup like that before. The sandwich was delicious. The frico made the sandwich taste unique. It was balanced and flavorful. The kid's sandwich was really good. My son loved the turkey. For dessert, we shared the chocolate pie. It was amazing. It was the right amount of richness and the fresh whipped cream made it a 5-star dessert. I tried my husband's gluten-free whoopie pie. It was also delicious. This was the cutest lunch spot after a very busy day at the zoo. The Table Farmhouse Bakery is right downtown in Asheboro (across from where they have their farmers market). It is small inside, however they do have a lot of outside seating. When you arrive, you first place your order. As we were waiting in line, a gentlemen stopped at each party and made sure they understood the process of ordering and reassured us that the longest wait is in the line to order because they try to be as personable with each guest as possible. They do have plenty of goods to look at as you wait and honestly the time it took to order was not too bad. Once you get to the front they have so many bakery items and desserts. Just about every guest bought one so we followed suit. We got the lemon bar and carrot cake and both were amazing. During a busy period I stopped in to get something to drink. While waiting in a long line one of the staff made her way towards the end of the line and started to address the couples in front and behind me about the ordering process and handed them menu's. While speaking very courtesy to both couples she completely ignored me standing in the middle. I got the avocado toast on a sourdough bread (although the menu says multigrain bread, they will substitute it) for $8 plus tax. The avocado toast interestingly has a cut boiled egg on top and I love it! It was so delicious and it comes with your choice of a side, which I chose herb fries. I've been going to The Table for several years now and this place is definitely capable of 5 stars...EXCEPT they can't get their stuff together. First, their food is excellent. I've been for breakfast and lunch, both equally delicious with fresh ingredients and nice flavors. The prices are average/reasonable with a concise menu, and yet plenty of options. They have coffee, bread, and pastries, all of which are yummy. The interior is simple and well decorated. They recently closed in their outdoor space with a fireplace for extra seating, which is nice because it can be crowded at times. Here's where the problem lies. The last several times we have gone, my girlfriend and I ordered breakfast and cappuccinos. The food came out quickly, but the cappuccinos took forever to come out. At one meal, they didn't come to the table until we had been long finished with our meals. I'm sure it's not just me who would like to enjoy my coffee WITH, if not before my meal. Not only that, but the cappuccinos the last several times have not been hot, but luke warm at best. Today was a mixed experience as always. This time I ordered two cappuccinos and decided to wait to order the food. I'm glad I did because the gentleman in front of me ordered a coffee and breakfast and his breakfast (as usual) came out long before his coffee did. At one point in time I noticed two coffee cups sitting on the counter waiting for a server. Except they just sat there and sat there. I finally got up, checked the order, and brought them to the table myself. Again, just barely hot enough to be good for about a min before it was Luke warm. Had I waited any longer to get them, they wouldn't have been any good. But it's disappointing that the server never even noticed them sitting there. After we sipped on our coffee for a while, I went back to place our breakfast order. I ordered the avocado toast on sourdough with an over easy egg and a side of potatoes and the morning greens for my girlfriend. They asked if I wanted bread with the morning greens, to which I asked, "Isn't it included?" I'm not sure why they would ask if I wanted something that comes with the meal anyway. As usual, the food came out rather quickly and was delicious. However, they left off a key component on the morning greens-the bacon-and I had to ask for some on the side. Both dishes were delicious, and their potatoes are scrumptious. However, we watched as the lady beside us got her food and remind the server she hadn't received her coffee yet. Again, a cup sat on the counter for some time, and I even made a comment I believed it to be her drink. It was several minutes before a server brought it to her, which by then I absolutely knew she had received a cold cappuccino. To sum it up? The setting is lovely and homey. The food is delicious. The people are friendly. But the staff can't seem to get the timing right when it comes to the coffee and food. All I want is a hot coffee (drink) before or even with my meal, and I don't think that's too much to ask. read more

I love how they utilize every corner of this brownstone. Outdoor seating wrapped around the front to the left side of building where you are greeted with a welcoming dining area i front of a fireplace. The inside was like walking into a country friend farm house in one of those home magazines. I found it quite charming. We opened the front door to a long line of patrons which was a good sign. Side note if you order ahead use the side door one the right where online orders are picked up. Otherwise you'll be greeted by a line where social distancing is impossible. I saw some people with menus but I'm guessing they walked up to the cash wrap and grab one. There was a menu at the entrance as well as on a side wall where the line was formed. Their menus was pretty and listed ingredients. Which I like. The wait in line didn't feel too long maybe because there was so much look at and products to see like candles and bags made by local vendors. I like to people watch lol and there was a lot of people to look at inside and out. I ordered the salmon bagel and fries. I also order dessert because it looked soo good. I even got the pumpkin chocolate chip cake to go!! I also order the blended coffee with was served in a mason jar. All was yummy and light.
