One vintage piece that I had just brought him earlier this year that I wanted to keep close to a well worn used and not a complete refubishment turned out nicely. I was especially excited for this piece because it was rather difficult for me to explain what I wanted but Jean Claude came through again. One visit he was kind enough to show me some watches that he was working on which only further proved how many people trusted him. He will be missed. If you've ever needed to repair your Movado you know it will cost you a minimum of $60 just to have someone give you an estimate. Then they send it away to Movado, typically $300-$400 and months later your watch is fixed. My Movado needed a pin, a battery and a new clasp. Jean Claude was very friendly and professional. The work was done in house, in about a week, with excellent craftsmanship and at an extremely reasonable price. I have a 1968 Omega Constellation officially certified chronometer that needed cleaning/lube. Also had a cracked crystal (actually it's plastic). Jean Claude quoted a reasonable price for the work and completed on time as promised. I was a little (actually a lot) nervous because I have had trouble with other watch repairmen in the past with other Omegas and this one I had always sent of to Norman Morris for repairs, until they went away. Needless to say I had no cause for concern. Jean Claude did a great job on the watch. I did notice a minor anomaly after I drove away, but I turned around and Jean Claude fixed the small problem on the spot in a couple minutes. So nice to be local and not have to deal with postage and transport. The watch was presented to me with a 1 year guarantee, and I have no doubt that should I need to use it, Jean Claude will stand behind his work. I brought my vinatge Rolex to him after it had dropped off the kitchen table and started running fast. He fixed the problem and I had him do a servicing on it, since it had been several years since it had been done. After I received the watch back, it looked absolutely brand new and ran with amazing accuracy. Exceptional service! I needed to replace the battery in my Movado, and was about to pay to send it off to Movado, where you have to wait weeks just to get an estimate. I called The Swiss Watchmaker to see if he could get my 40 year old Bulova Accutron running. He told me that parts were no longer available, but if I brought it by, he would look at it. If he could repair it,he would give me an estimate. If he could not, there would be no charge. I had the battery replaced by a large chain jeweler a couple of years ago. When I went to The Swiss Watchmaker, he opened the case, only to find that the battery had been installed upside down. 15 minutes and a new battery later, I was on my way.
