The store has a personality, its pretty quirky and I'd say (after working there for several years) that a sitcom based on this place just might work. (Oh the stories). They are genuine and honest folks who enjoy what they do and treasure the relationships that have been built over time and generations. I think the store is worth a look, as the Cullen's various interests and travels have brought some interesting pieces into the store. And there is definitely a mesmerizing collection of estate and antique jewelry (always my favorites). Oh and important to mention --- the store does not jack up prices like the chains do. The markup is minimum which means the customers are getting the most for their money. Any questions - feel free to ask! P.S. They do custom work, repairs, special orders, bridesmaid and groomsman gifts, great selection of charms, giftware, sterling and plate frames, clocks, and on and on. Check it out if your ever in the area! (Accessible by Pace and the UP North Metra!) P.P.S. And yes, as stated in the first paragraph - I did work here for some time.

She fixed the busted clasp and charged me $75 for which I was fine with. I picked the bracelet up and the next day the bracelet broke falling off me and I could not find it. I came back to the store and she told me that it was not her fault since the bracelet could had broken in another place. I send fine could you just at least refund the $75 I was not asking her to even replace the bracelet and she said no and got very nasty with me. I will NEVER go back there. I also live in the city and since she would not return my calls I had to drive out there to talk to her. She is a horrible business person and I will never but anything from her again.

Unfortunately, there's not much time for shopping in my life, although I did happen to make a stop at my beloved dollar store* to gather some goodies before hopping on a flight to Florida. And that's where I noticed Jacquelie's of Northbrook. Hooray- a jewelry store! My first instinct was to check the Yelp reviews...duh. When I noticed they didn't have any I was a bit worried about leaving my nicest watch there, but figured it was worth stopping in. As soon as I walked in I received lots of attention even when they realized I was there JUST for a watch battery. I was still a bit worried about leaving my watch there, but decided it was probably OK since a) they mentioned they'd been in business 35 years b) had a lovely selection of jewelry & c) the rent next to sunset foods has to be somewhat high so they must do A-OK selling jewelry They gave me a receipt (complete with a pic of my watch) and told me they'd be in touch in about a week. They did mention there could be a slight delay due to the holidays. When I didn't hear from them for a week I called them myself and got VM. Jacqueline herself returned my call and let me know they were taking vacation for the holidays. As soon as they opened their doors after the holidays I got a call that my watch was ready. I picked it up the very next day and it was ticking away! Hopefully the next time I stop in here is for a bit of jewelry shopping. They have a nice selection at different price points. And I also recommend if you need a new watch battery! * http://www.yelp.com/biz/dollar-tree-northbrook?hrid=mqNRZf8v4YDMXyqw3Kvr6w

We paid $50 extra to have the watch cleaned, so assumed they were cleaning the entire watch. When I called to ask if they could take a look at and fix the watch, they told me to bring it in and they would quote me for the fix. I pushed back and they said this happens sometimes - a watch will be cleaned and coincidentally will develop an unrelated problem. That's when I asked if something could have happened when they cleaned the watch. I was told they only cleaned the band and not the watch itself. This was not what was explained when I agreed to the cleaning. Simply stated, they asked if I wanted the watched cleaned for another $50. I think they probably meant the band but that wasn't how it was proposed to me. The quote was $275 to fix it, I find it is very odd that you drop off a perfectly working watch for appraisal and the timing mechanism develops a problem while just sitting there. I don't understanding but will give Daniel's the benefit of the doubt and agree it must have just been bad timing. I'm still happy with Daniel's Jewelry overall but have to knock off one star for the confusion around the appraisal followed by the repair.

We have been long time customers when we relocated from Southern California to Glenview for work downtown. We have purchased earrings, some different pieces from the estate jewelry cabinet & watchbands. All of the staff is quite pleasant & personable. Valerie really knows her field & Arthur crafts, cleans & repairs everything that we have brought in. Valerie helped us pick out a simple band honoring our 40th wedding anniversary. When one of the stones fell out, she replaced the ring promptly. It is really comforting to have a relationship with a trusted jeweler. Thanks, Daniel's Jewelry for all of your years of trusted service & offering of "just right" pieces to purchase.
