I've now used The Super Movers 3 times (the first when they were still A+M Moving Service), with each move being more complicated then the previous one, and The Super Movers continue to deliver and handle the challenges in the best possible manner. Moving in NYC is extremely stressful and challenging, but these guys certainly make it easier by having a great attitude and working efficiently and carefully. Booking the move with Anabell was quick and seamless, the movers showed up on time and used strong teamwork and a well-executed plan to get our belongings out quickly and into their truck. The biggest challenge was that both my old building and new building required moves to be completed between 9 am and 4 pm and my new building also required that move-ins commence by 1 pm. There simply was not enough time to move everything out of my old apartment between 9 am and 12:15 pm to ensure they would get to my new building by 1 pm, but the crew made me aware of this and ensured that the furniture and other large items were moved out during that time. Ultimately they completed the move-out in time, got our belongings to the new building by 1 pm and had us moved in by the 4 pm cut-off. Furniture was properly assembled and nearly everything was as it had been before the move. My only gripes are as follows: 1 - I was not made aware of any additional charges for a flat-screen TV box or for garment boxes when I had obtained my quote and then when the movers asked if I wanted them to use such boxes they told me there would be a charge. I had not been charged for these boxes during my previous moves with The Super Movers and I should have been made aware of this before the move. However they gave me the opportunity to speak with Omer and he agreed to waive the charge for half of the boxes, given the miscommunication. 2 - I was not permitted to pay with a personal check. Apparently they have changed their policies since my previous moves (both of which I had paid for with a personal check). Once again would have appreciated being notified of this in advance or being granted an exception given the history. 3 - One of the rolling wheels on my desk chair was lost during the move. I e-mailed Anabell about this when I noticed it the day after the move and did not receive a response. Given the small expense (about $15) it was not worth my time to pursue this further, but I would have appreciated some sort of credit or compensation if they were not able to locate and return the wheel. Overall I was very pleased with the services I received from The Super Movers and would highly recommend them to others. However, as with any moving service, I suggest reading their policies carefully to avoid any unforeseen charges or changes in their policies. Look no more, these are your movers! I researched moving companies from Illinois for a recent move my daughter made in New York! As a worried mom with no real info on the New York area, it was quite a task! From my first contact with A & M, I was impressed! They are so knowledgeable about the area, how things work, they were even familiar with the very building my daughter was moving into. Trust me when I say, I talked to many New York moving companies over several weeks on the phone. I met quite a few characters, hustlers, and, sadly, losers! A & M didn't harass me by phone, they didn't try to pressure me, they were just honest upfront about what the move would cost, and how Manhattan works! Ariana and Larissa are the phone contacts, sorry girls, I don't know your titles, and no matter which one answers the phone, you are treated with honesty, friendliness, and respect! The day of the move finally arrived, and I was a nervous wreck! Even though Ariana and Larissa had handled my numerous phone calls with questions always coming through with direct, honest answers, I was still apprehensive! The team showed up on time, and immediately put my fears to rest! Cody, Marcello, and Jimmy were just as nice and courteous, and professional as they could be! They were so careful with everything, wrapped anything that needed to be wrapped, and I never had to say "Hmmm, do you think" even once! They worked so hard and within the time frame we had discussed, and completed the move in exactly 3 hours! NOTHING was damaged, they placed boxes wherever I asked them to, helped unpack two wardrobes, and they even moved a bed not involved in the move out of one bedroom into another! I can't say enough good things about this company! Being from out of state, it would have been very easy to take advantage, but they didn't! They handled everything, certificates of insurance from both locations, I mean everything! All I needed to do was let them in and the rest was, dare I say, enjoyable!!! So, don't waste your time anywhere else, if this company can handle a nervous, "OCD to a fault", worried mom, they can certainly handle whatever moving challenge you face! I had info on about 15 New York moving companies, and I had a feeling about A & M from my first contact with them, and boy was I right! These guys are amazing. From the get-go, we knew we were in good hands. One guy came over, took a quick inventory of the place, asked about the logistics of the move, and gave us a quote, all the while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor. It was clear he was an intelligent and conscientious person, and we assumed that the rest of the employees would display the same qualities. And we were right. The four guys who showed up shared the exact same attitude. Extremely personable and efficient, they did their thing and wouldn't let us lift a finger. Furthermore, they showed sincere interest in the events of our life that precipitated our move. I want to be friends with these guys. Really. The service was impeccable. They took apart our beds and put them back together. They put our hanging clothes in some portable wardrobes and hung them up in the closets at the new place. They wrapped up the big appliances and hanging pictures for us. They didn't seem to mind that half of our stuff was bagged up instead of in boxes. They insisted on putting every box and bag in its right place in the new apartment. They even helped us pack up the various lost odds and ends that magically reappear when you move the furniture. All this without any hint of displeasure. I can only assume they genuinely didn't mind any of this. They estimated the move would take 5-6 hours, and it would have taken under 6 if it weren't for some road construction. We'd heard stories of shady movers who suddenly raise the bill on the day of the move. Not so with Super Movers: we paid exactly what they quoted us. Moving, for me, is an entirely horrifying experience--so I was very fortunate to work with The Super Movers, who made my recent move a dream. Alon came to do an on-site assessment, and didn't even bat an eye when he saw all the books! When I called the office the week before the move, Ariane totally talked me off the ledge :), and answered all my questions. They both seemed like they had plenty of time for me, never made me feel bad for calling with questions, and were kind and knowledgeable throughout. I was also impressed with the company's commitment to the neighborhood by their involvement with the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative. Their price--flat fees for both the packing and the move, was inclusive of materials and labor--and that price didn't change, no "surprise fees," nothing like that. They packed us the day before the move, then moved us within the neighborhood. The same team came for both days (as I was assured it would be), and all the guys were polite, professional, even cheerful! and FAST! I had trouble picturing how they were going to pack first, THEN move. Other companies I spoke to pack and move the same day, which sounded more efficient to me--especially in an apartment with lots of books, furniture, kitchen stuff... But these guys came right in, arranged everything so perfectly, that I was put at ease almost immediately. (It's possible that our large amount of stuff necessitated the 2-day process; either way, it's clear that they know what they are doing.) I would highly recommend these guys. I've lived in New York City for more than 20 years and have moved at least a dozen times. I found A+M Moving Service through citimove.com and am now a loyal and devoted fan. They're extremely reliable, courteous, hard working, easy to reach, friendly, resourceful and careful. Their attention to detail has spared my walls, as well as my furniture. They managed to get a couch into my apartment that the store delivery service insisted wouldn't fit. They moved me from Tribeca to Brooklyn, provided a certificate of insurance and proof of workers comp on very short notice, and their office staff was outstanding. I recommend them without hesitation, and wish them great success as their business grows. (11/13/09) I just wanted to update this because I called them last week to coordinate a delivery for me, and they've been super accommodating for such a small job. I got a new bed and sold the old one on craig's list. Ugh! How to get it from here to there when neither I nor the buyer has a car? And I work all day and the buyer of my bed goes to work at 4 PM. I gave Ariella my availability; she called the person who bought my bed and scheduled it for a mutually convenient time without a huge amount of back and forth. Ok, moving sucks! ... and let me tell you I was beyond stressed ( can you say B***H?) I had finally found THE place, and then had to find a way to get all our crap from the old to the new. I have heard so many horror stories and was so worried about this move. I had called a couple places ( and had not gotten a warm fuzzy from either and then called A+M...a lovely girl named Airiene (sp?) answered the phone and she was so helpful and put me at ease almost as soon as she started talking. She even told me to go to homedepot to get boxes because they are so much cheaper ( 67cents for a small and 97 for a med!!! instead of 2-4.50 each at the moving places!) So I got my warm fuzzy and with a little anxiety made a date for my move. A couple days later Micheal, Cody and Efrain showed up to move me out of my 4th floor walkup to my 3rd floor walkup. She quoted my a special rate of 103.50 per hour for three guys and a 17ft truck. The move itself took 3 1/2 hours and then added a 1/2 for travel time. The guys were great...running up lots of stairs and getting the job done with a great attitude. I highly recommend this service, everyone connected to the place was warm and great to work with . We were so pleased with our A + M move! The crew arrived early and was methodical, efficient, careful, courteous and friendly. The guys wrapped all of our furniture expertly and didn't complain when a couch wouldn't fit into the elevator and had to be taken down the stairs instead. They even accommodated our request to move a couple of pieces of furniture around once everything was in the new apartment. They did get a parking ticket on the move-out leg, and as it was stated in the contract that this was our responsibility, we paid it. Parking tickets are really just a part of doing business in nyc, and we were fully aware that cars and trucks on our old block were ticketed religiously. We were just very happy that everything went as smoothly as it did. The behind-the-scenes staff was very helpful, polite and easy to contact by email and phone. It was reassuring to call and speak with Ariane every time, since she knew all of the details of our move. (Some of the other, larger companies farm out their calls, so that it would be unheard of to speak with the same person twice.) We also liked that A + M works with a flat fee because it meant that we weren't counting the minutes and because it gave us the assurance that there weren't going to be any surprises. A & M Moving moved me last weekend, and I was so impressed by them that I'm writing my first ever review on a website. Every person I dealt with from the time I emailed them to the end of my move was professional, and put me at ease. They sent a guy over to have a look at my apartment to give me a flat quote. They made recommendations about where I could buy cheaper boxes than the ones they sell. They scheduled the elevator with my new building. On the day I moved there was a parade by my old apartment, and they had to navigate road blocks to get off the block once they were loaded. They were very good humored about it and did not raise the price as a result of the hassle and waiting. They were neither the cheapest nor the most expensive, but I chose them because I felt very comfortable with the woman who called me after my initial email, I felt like their estimator was a knowledgeable professional, and they weren't shady in any way. I found these guys because a guy I work with used them and passed their card along to me. I emailed them after the job was done to thank the crew, and they suggested that writing a review here was a good way to show my appreciation. I'm happy to see I'm another happy customer. read more

These guys were like knights in shining armor showing up in their shiny white moving van. 2 days earlier I had been scammed by the "telephone pole" mover guys and they left me stranded and feeling hopeless and overwhelmed. I called SUPER MOVERS and spoke with Jay, he took the time to go over the move, send me an estimate and pull a moving appointment out of his hat only 2 days later(at the end of the month in a holiday weekend no less!) he assured me I would be well taken care of and happy. The other guys had showed up late with a little rickety truck and told me it was going to take 4 guys 14 hrs, 2 trips and MUCH more $ than their estimate to do my move, when I didn't have the $ they just got in their truck and left. SUPER MOVERS showed up early in a big beautiful truck, took a look around and started working right away. They were so kind and accommodating. FINALLY....someone who works like I do. They were meticulous and careful and worked lightening fast. NOT ONE OF MY BELONGINGS WAS DAMAGED. They finished the move and were out the door in 6 hrs and $500 UNDER budget!!!!! We used Super Movers last week to move from Park Slope to Prospect heights. Not only did I research and review 4 other companies, I am also 7 months pregnant and was very nervous about getting everything done at a fair price. There were so many companies that had "minimum hourly" rates, and a few who claimed that estimates were impossible. Not only did Super Movers provide us with a binding estimate, they also suggested how we can keep our costs down by buying instead of ordering boxes through them, AND they disassembled and reassembled our bed as part of the estimate ( most companies would not do this). They also spent 5 HOURS getting a very troubled couch out of our old apartment into our new one. Ariel, the foreman, was incredibly patient and understanding the entire time and the owner even came on the site to help with the couch never once complaining or charging us more. These guys were amazing, they were on time, reasonably priced, and extremely courteous and professional. Moving is never fun, moving pregnant is a bigger nightmare, but these guys made it a good experience and I cannot say enough great things about them. USE THEM! read more

Neither my husband nor I had hired movers before so we weren't sure what to expect. I did my research and found The Super Movers s to be the most professional, without being the most expensive. On moving day, they showed up an hour early, which was completely fine with us as we were eager to get going. There were three or four guys who were very friendly and efficient. The longest part of the move was the actual loading of the truck at the apartment we were moving from. They loaded the truck very carefully and took the time to wrap every piece of furniture in a blanket and then pack it in cardboard. Once we got to the new place, they unloaded like champs. I think the entire unloading and set up into our new apartment took about 1.5 hours. They assembled our wall unit, couch, bed, and coffee table for us and made sure to place each box in whatever room it was labeled to be in. Although we spent a little more than we wanted to, it was completely worth it. Nothing was broken, damaged, or lost. I'd recommend these guys to anyone in New York, and not just for the hilarious name. read more

We had a great experience with the Super Movers. I hired them on behalf of my 85 year old mother who moved out of her Staten Island residence, into a small community in New Jersey. Needless to say, I was very protective of my mom. This was a big move and a big decision for her. I wanted polite workers who would give her all their attention and have patience for her hearing issues. Omer previewed the amount of furniture and boxes she planned to move, and assured her of each step in the process. My siblings and my mother all felt confident. Everything went very smoothly. They showed up a fe minutes early, did a walk through with her, and went to work. The guys were very nice and seemed to know all the ins and outs - even as far as the placement of her furniture.   No complaints, no cursing, no slackers. They worked hard going up and down the flight of stairs, box after box.   Nothing was damaged or broken - no walls were scratched, etc. My mom and sisters were all impressed and happy. having had some of my assistance for my already upsetting break-up move evaporate and facing the prospect of moving some heavy furniture out of my apartment with me and two friends, one with a recently broken elbow, i broke down and called movers the day before the move. the first place was over the rainbow with their "required by NY state transit fees," so i called A+M, who quoted me a very reasonable hourly and assured me that would be it unless i needed boxes or supplies. when they arrived with germanic promptness the following afternoon, they were short one person, so the dispatcher, ariane, showed up to help with the move. promptly and efficiently, the three movers had me out of one place and into the next, just exceeding the expected three-hour minimum. when ariane presented me with the bill, it was exactly what she said it would be, not a penny more. friendly, well-priced, and careful, these people deserve your business. also, check to see if they have discounted days - i got a swell deal because of this! read more

So the day came when we were moving from Fort Greene to Boerum Hill, and we decided that we wouldn't take advantage of friends and relatives and use a moving service instead. Since we' d never used a moving service before, a not inconiderable amount of shopping around was done, and we settled for A+M, which suited our schedule and our wallet. We were not disappointed: the arrangements before the move went very smoothly, and the movers showed up on time on the day of the move. The packaging and wrapping would have made Christo envious, and although I levitated over the movers when they took care of some of our paintings and other fragile stuff, I was quite happy to see our things being handled with such care. The move itself was quite uneventful, and took no more than the time scheduled. Hopefully we won't have to move again any time soon, but if that would be the case, we would gladly use A+M again. read more

This was my first move within New York, in this case it was a move from Manhattan to Brooklyn (My previous move from Cincinnati to Manhattan is entirely different story). I did shop around a bit, and I also did ask some friends with first-hand experiences of moving companies. After talking at some length with the the two very nice ladies who run the office, I did decide to go with the Supermovers. Moving day came along far too early, and I may not have been as prepared as I should have been, but everything worked out really, really well. I may not have an extensive collection of priceless Ming vases, but all my fragiles were handled with utmost care, and the movers were FAST! We started out just after 9AM, and me and my belongings were safely and soundly in Brooklyn by 1:30PM. I will gladly recommend the Supermovers to anyone who needs to move, and I will in all likelihood use them again. read more

I priced out 3 different movers. I knew The Super Movers was an independent company and preferred giving them my business. I needed someone I could trust with a complicated move. They are #One in my book! Easy to work with, punctual, professional, and strong. They worked well together as a team & with their supervisor who knows how to move furniture and other heavy objects in any allotted space. They took great care moving on and off premises. I live in a 4th flr walk up and there were no complaints. Other movers I have worked with whine when they hear no elevator. These guys have a job to do and they do it REALLY well. Have your list detailed with all your items and where you want things to be placed. They will do exactly that and have suggestions too. Never having used professional movers before, We did speak to two other movers before We made the decision to go with "the super movers". From the time we met with Amer, who gave us a binding cost of the move and until the end of the move we had all of our concerns answered and everything promised was done and than some. It was a difficult move for Lorenzo and his guys but they did it with good nature and took special care of things that were special to me. In fact, it rained the day we moved but everything was wrapped and blanketed and nothing got wet or ruined. 'The super movers were just that "super", they did not disappoint. This was the best moving experience I've ever had. Lorenzo, William and Louis both packed me up and delivered my stuff, and they did it all with the utmost professionalism, care and good humor. Everything was meticulously handled, from the initial pack to the delivery of every box to the right room in my new home to the set up of furniture requiring reconstruction (such as desks and tables). Nothing was damaged, not even a scratch to my walls. I've moved multiple times and something always goes missing -- not this time. And they're nicest guys! They stuck around to make sure everything was set up right, even though they were obviously exhausted (they had to carry a lot of really heavy furniture up a nasty flight of stairs). After living in a large home for more than 15 years, our move involved moving things to the homes of our 3 daughters (2 of whom live out of State), putting items in storage, removing alot of garbage including a large refrigerator and moving what was left for our home upstate. A+M did it all for us over several days. They were extremely careful with our valuables, very organized in executing this complicated move and very accomodating and pleasant to work with. The crew works like a well-oiled machine and their professionalism is evident in everything that they do. It was a pleasure to work with them.
