The night before my visit to Aurora, I did not lose money at the casino and went home early. I woke up at 7 AM the next day and it was raining. This was a perfect setup to go to popular breakfast diners. I walked in, sharply dressed and full of confidence. I truly believe that I got better service because of my outfit. I was looking sharp (dress shirt, chino pants, dress shoes, and my infamous yellow bow tie). I had the Farmer's Combo. I think it was good. The Plaza District were getting ready for a street festival out front the afternoon we were there. They had just dropped a new menu so our table tried some brand new additions: The Tikka Masala Chicken Sandwich and a lemon pasta. The fries were amazing and get a side of their ranch dressing to go with them. The pasta looked amazing (came with a fried egg on top) and I was told it was good. The wine, cocktails, and snacks lean North American in focus. The space itself is a highlight--modern wood finishes paired with dim, moody lighting create a warm, elevated atmosphere. We ordered cocktails and tried all three featured options, which were creative, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. However, the mezcal old-fashioned leaned heavily toward smokiness and could benefit from something to cut through that intensity, such as a touch of sweetness or citrus to balance. The bartender wasn't outgoing but was friendly enough.

The brunch dishes look amazing too. My only small complaint was that initial service was a bit sluggish when we first sat down, taking almost fifteen minutes just to get water and take our drink order, and my side of fries came out pretty limp and inconsistent compared to how crispy the tots were. Once the meal got moving though, the chill vibe and tasty food made it a really solid lunch overall. the standout comfort food and the super laid-back environment are the absolute best parts about this place. That chicken-fried ribeye is tender, perfectly seasoned, and total comfort on a plate, while the loaded tots are an incredible appetizer to share with the table. The overall space feels warm, casual, and unpretentious, making it a awesome spot to kick back with friends.

In addition to a great meal, we got a history lesson of the bank, the story of the building, and they even have historical photos and items from the 1930s when it was built. As far as the meal itself, we had a great server, Alicen who offered entree recommendations, and was efficient and friendly throughout the meal. We were there celebrating my birthday, and Alicen brought a slice of birthday cake for my wife and I to share to end a wonderful evening. The restaurant ambiance is classy without being pretentious, and has both dining tables and a bar area with sofa-type seating (in addition to the traditional bar). Whether you go for a special occasion or just a great Italian meal (I recommend the clam bucatini), Tellers is a place you have to see to believe. Upon entering I notice this was a small place so you probably need to be prepared to wait but we went at an off time & we sat immediately. She opted for the Pepperoni & Mushroom. I selected one of their sandwiches - The Cosmo Kramer. My intent was to get a pizza but the sandwiches were too inviting. The best part of dining with my wife is that we normally get something different so the other can try. She really liked her pizza however, it wasn't appealing to me. She likes the thin crispy crust and I opt more of the hand tossed. However, their sandwiches were the big winner! I selected the Cosmo Kramer and it was totally what I wanted!! My mind keeps racing back to that sandwich. I'm not sure if I want to recreate myself or just head back for a repeat try.
