What's with the high Yelp reviews?…read more The Guest House Raleigh is not a "Bed & Breakfast", it's more like a shared AirBnB. There's no host to welcome you into their home. I had to search for the door code in a text after we arrived. I felt the entire check in process was cold and impersonal. Once you're inside, then you'll see the beauty in the details for Guest House Raleigh. The open kitchen is welcoming. You can't cook or use the oven but it sure looks nice. This is from their website: *The kitchen is not available for cooking or food storage. The proprietor must be a tea lover, there are 10 tea choices with assorted honeys. I started driving from Miami, I want coffee and I want it strong. Tea is not on my wish list. I used the Keurig in the kitchen but I hate those things. The coffee tastes weird and its a lot of microplastics. Not a fan. Once we closed the door behind us, the room was like being in a spa. Light woods, comfortable bedding and good shower products made the entire stay feel like more upscale. Someone wrote they had linen sheets, Its October and linen season is over. Overall, it was a nice room and I enjoyed the shower. (Once I figured out how to use the hot water) I texted my brother in law in the morning. Come to the kitchen, they're making Brioche French Toast! He was up like Hong Kong Phooey screaming: Where's the syrup! When he saw me eating a cup of yogurt with the gluten free-vegan-unsweetened granola? His face dropped. Sadness. *Proprietor - If I'm not going to meet or see you, then make me feel the hospitality! Bake a pound cake for breakfast, offer cups of waffles with a waffle maker, something other than yogurt and a banana. I mean, can we agree on Hard Boiled eggs? Raleigh isn't my final stop, I need to drive another few hundred miles. Street Parking is something I must point out. There is no private parking lot for The Guest House Raleigh. *There is free street parking on Bloodworth Street with a 2-hr limit weekdays 8am-5pm, and unlimited after hours and weekends. We left before 8am, just keep in mind if you want to sleep late, you'll need to feed the parking meter. The town is doing road construction on Bloodworth Street, they are making their way up to The Guest House Raleigh. The question is, would I stay here again? I enjoy both the Bed & "Breakfast" when I travel, tough call.

This is a converted motel (which is my go-to stay given the choice), and while some of the rooms are accessible from the outdoors, most are accessible from an indoor hallway. We ended up staying in two different rooms over the course of four nights (we had back-to-back reservations) but moving from one room to the next was smooth and straightforward. Both rooms were clean and comfortable, and well-stocked with snacks and drinks to purchase. The Longleaf branding is also adorable, and they sell some fun trinkets at the front desk. You can even buy the cute tie-dye rooms that they keep in the rooms if you would like! The front desk staff was helpful for check-in and check-out as well. I would definitely stay here again!

Just forty minutes from, my husband, our friends, and I chose the inn for a birthday weekend getaway, and from the moment we arrived, it felt as though we had stepped into a storybook village hidden in the Carolina countryside. Fearrington has the rare quality of feeling like a town within a town: intimate, charming, and thoughtfully preserved. Despite a bustling arrival moment, the warmth of the welcome immediately softened everything. The front desk associate greeted us graciously, answered every question with care, and even personally guided us to our cottage after helping my husband navigate charging options for our car. We stayed in the Grand Suite, and it was nothing short of enchanting. The interiors felt timeless in the way only truly refined spaces do traditional without feeling heavy, luxurious without trying too hard. In the sitting room, a handwritten birthday note and a plate of the inn's beautifully hand-painted chocolates awaited me, a gesture so personal and thoughtful it immediately set the tone for the weekend. The bedroom itself felt regal, anchored by an elevated, bespoke headboard that gave the room a quiet grandeur. But it was the bathroom that completely stole my heart. Black and white, classic and serene, it seemed to whisper relaxation. The heated towel rack enthusiastically recommended by the front desk quickly became one of those small luxuries you suddenly cannot imagine living without. And then there was the bath. Deep, jet-filled, and accompanied by the inn's soothing bath salts, it became the perfect ending to the evening. Every detail at Fearrington seems designed to slow you down in the most intentional way. After settling in, we wandered through the property's shops and gathering spaces, where every interaction felt genuinely warm. The boutiques were beautifully curated, filled with surprisingly well-priced treasures that made it dangerously easy to linger. Everywhere we went, someone gently reminded us to "try the salted butter," advice we happily followed over cocktails and dinner later that evening at the restaurant. The sleep itself was restorative in the truest sense. The bed was impossibly comfortable, the cottage wonderfully quiet, and the entire experience carried that elusive feeling of being deeply cared for. What makes Fearrington so special is that it does not impose a singular aesthetic or experience upon you. Whether your tastes lean classic, modern, romantic, or understated, there is a corner of beauty waiting to meet you there. It is refined without pretension, luxurious without excess, and deeply rooted in hospitality. An unforgettable stay and exactly the sort of place that reminds you how meaningful thoughtful travel can be.

This hotel had pretty much everything we needed for a good stay. 24 hr gym, breakfast, happy hour, and plenty of common area lounge/seating for informal socialization and brainstorming. We enjoyed our last night outside by the firepit with some barbeque and drinks from the bar. I was in a double queen room. Very clean and spacious, had all the amenities except for some body lotion. I probably could have asked for some but luckily I brought my own. I used the gym a couple times and liked how open it was and there was a good variety of equipment (free weights, cardio machines, smith machines, bosu ball, and kettlebells). They had a water machine, towels, and even complimentary headphones. The only place I didn't get to check out was the pool, but with summer essentially over, I didn't really expect to make it out there and our schedule was jam packed anyway. Overall I enjoyed my stay here, it was nice to collapse onto a comfortable bed after consecutive 16+ hour days. Just wish they had EV chargers here! @azfitfoodfun

It's so loud I heard them pick up their spoon and crunch their cereal. The sink drains slowly too and the water splashes on the counter easily. The bed sank in and hurt my back, my husband was ok though. It's a new design but isn't designed well. The shower has a metal drain and the shower head leaks after the water turns off and it sounds like wind chimes for a few minutes. And the water drops every 10 minutes after. We had to put a small towel on the drain to catch the dripping water so we could sleep. There's also a blinking light from the smoke alarm right above our heads when we sleep. The biggest downfall is the noise. I don't think they can fix the neighboring walls since it's already built. We came to visit NC to see the homes here. I hope the homes are built better than this hotel.

As a Hilton Honors Silver member, they do not offer complimentary bottled water. They use a "green initiative" reason about reducing plastic, but still sell bottled water for $4 each. They do have "refreshing stations" with still, alkaline, and sparkling water, which is nice--but you must bring your own bottle. To me, if guests are spending their money with Hilton, a simple bottle of water shouldn't be too much to offer. Another major inconvenience: valet-only parking at $30 per day. Since it's downtown, you really have no choice but to use their valet unless you want to hunt for outside parking. The valet team was cool and friendly, but it's still an extra cost--plus you have to tip every time they retrieve your car or tip at the end of your stay. That adds up quickly. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the rooms are very small. Tiny dorm-style fridge No microwave No iron or ironing board, only a steamer Just not the level of comfort, space, or amenities I'm used to in the Hilton brand One thing I did like is that Tempo is connected to Homewood Suites, and you can choose where to eat breakfast. Homewood Suites offers a complimentary buffet-style breakfast, while the Tempo side has a café and bar where you have to purchase your breakfast. The café staff, bar staff, and most of the front desk team were very nice--no complaints there. But overall, between paying for breakfast, paying for parking, paying for water, and tipping valet every time, this stay was more expensive and less comfortable than it needed to be. This was my first and last stay at Tempo. It's simply not my cup of tea. I'll be sticking with Embassy Suites, where I get more space, better amenities, and the level of comfort I'm used to.
