Ahh this place was SO COOL! I mean, I truly felt like the coolest person staying here. It was so hip. The vintage vibe of the renovated roadside motel with the modern touch of the classy bar area was amazing. My bed was so comfy and I loved the black out blinds. The room temp was perfect and the room was very clean. The staff were kind and I enjoyed speaking to the bartender who gave me an excellent restaurant recommendation as well (review to come on that restaurant!) I enjoyed a delicious drink at the bar, The Flower Power Spritzer and enjoyed hot coffee there the next morning. I highly recommend staying here. The location is close to all the things, parking is a breeze, and best of all, it's totally the coolest hotel ever.

Either blood or some other dark red substance on the shower curtain. Gross!

This place looks really cute from the pictures and has great reviews so I gave it a try when I was in Raleigh for work. It is renovated but is still very much a budget motel. The whole place smells musty and like stale old cigarettes. There appeared to be blood on the edge of the shower curtain which was gross. The hotel is also loud and it's not the guests. The refrigerator knocks in the night, there's lots of traffic noise, and there's a train that goes by often in the night which has a very loud horn. I barely slept and am exhausted. I will not stay here again.

Absolutely wonderful place , staff friendly and helpful. You get a walking guide to all restaurants and bars downtown Raleigh and the time it's takes to walk there. They have a full bar and an amazing courtyard. Just an amazing place to stay for a weekend getaway.

A thoughtful and quality renovation of a travelodge motel from the 1960s, I found Longleaf when searching for an affordable but highly rated hotel in downtown Raleigh. Longleaf was able to accommodate us on short notice, and Lauren was so welcoming at check-in, providing personalized recommendations in the neighborhood. I was so impressed with the vibe of the lobby bar/lounge, and this attention to detail is maintained throughout the grounds. The room is basic but very clean, and I loved the water station available in the hallway (so nice to encourage folks to refill their water bottles). Our only complaint was the noise at night (our second floor room was right above the outdoor patio space). We only stayed one evening, or we would have asked to move. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

We stayed here for a night and loved it! 1. They had free bingo on the patio which was super fun and I won a robe! 2. Walking distance to a bunch of cool stuff. 3. Free parking 4.super friendly staff!! Only drawback was not really having any breakfast options but I knew that going in. Really... does anyone need anything more than coffee anyway?!

We did an overnight here for our 11 year wedding anniversary. It is in such a perfect spot for a walk or quick uber to most of the local spots. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. We did the King Suite and loved the options to have some snacks that get charged to the room and the bed was super comfy!! We had a nice cocktail at the bar and the bartenders were all really nice and made excellent drinks. I love that they juice their citrus fruits for drinks in-house! Overall we enjoyed our stay and would happily come back if we had the chance!

Many issues were faced with the parking, tag not working properly, being charged by the garage on top of the $30/day charge from the hotel. Breakfast offers hot food and there is coffee and tea available 24/7 in the lobby. There are two elevators on opposite sides of the building so you can never be too far away. However, they both operate extremely slow. Upon checking in the room was facing the bar street, unknowingly booked the hotel where all the college students go out. While they do offer ear plugs and sound machines in each room it doesn't help much when it's 1am and so loud you can't sleep. The other options for rooms face the train or the street - no ideal placement. One bad interaction occurred with a staff member, after being charged to exit the garage I approached the front desk which had no one there. Turned to see a woman straddling the couch behind me who yelled across the lobby asking if I was checking in. When I said no and told her there was an issue with the parking she looked at me to continue when I realized she had no plan on getting up to assist us. She did not help sort out the problem but told us to call the parking garage to get a refund... Upon checkout there was a different worker present who graciously and with attitude I may add, removed one day of parking to make up for the garage charging. Next time I visit this town I will be avoiding this hotel to say the least. However, the rooms were clean and spacious.

The centerpiece of the house's interior is a rotunda supported by four Corinthian columns and lit by a stained glass window located on the roof. Walking into the foyer you cant help but embrace the timeless grace, where every corner whispers of history and a bygone era. There is a quiet serenity to the space, as if time slows just a little bit inside. The modern touch added to the old renovated mansion does come with a bit of a sharp, sterile elegance of a modern mansion. The Parlor is a great place to enjoy a delicious craft cocktail and even better, ADULTS ONLY! There are also many other lovely seating arrangements throughout the property, including outdoors, and a few even come with fire pits. Regardless of your intentions for visiting the Heights House, I am quite confident there will be no disappointments, unless they have a private event. Cheers!

Everything is lovely and though it is all modern and sleek, it still feels fitting for the original era of the house. The cocktail area takes up most of the main floor, with a stand-up bar just off the entryway with a few tables and then a larger lounging area with sofas and chairs just beyond. The drinks are exceptionally good, and the spirits menu is creative. They also offer a few small plates. There is plenty of paved parking immediately next to the hotel for guests only, so that is not a hassle as it can be at some B&B/inn-type establishments. At check-in, you are offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to set the tone. The rooms are comfortable, but I will say that the entry-level ones are quite small (which is apparent on the website), but for the rates charged there isn't even a place to sit and read a book other than the bed. There's one small, delicate wicker chair that would be for tying shoes or whatever, but not lounging. The bed is luxuriously dressed, and there is drawer space and a minifridge, but no closet -- hanging items can go on hooks by the door out in the open. The bathroom is spacious enough, with a broad sink and elegant tilework. The lighting fixtures throughout are nifty. I found the breakfast sort of average for this type of place. I came later on, so perhaps there is more earlier, but there were a few pastries, some hard-boiled eggs, and fruit when I arrived. There's also a fancy coffee-drink contraption, but those aren't my thing so I left that alone. It's a very easy walk across the Boylan Bridge and down a couple of blocks to the area of the Dillon with several restaurants, and the performing arts center is not far beyond that. Location-wise, there's plenty that's walkable but also more an easy drive away.

While there have been outstanding hotels, this one, The Residence Inn by Marriott Downtown Raleigh, NC, tops them! From the first moment we walked in the lobby and were greeted warmly, to check out when they acted like they were so happy we'd stayed there..everyone was friendly, kind, and so helpful! The lobby is decorated so nicely! The chandeliers are cool! Each one throughout the hotel is different. We found them in hallways, the restaurant, the lobby, near the elevators..everywhere! Just a cool, chic place! We had breakfast in the Overlook restaurant in the hotel each morning of our stay. Each morning was an all you can eat, buffet style, amazing spread! There were scrambled eggs each morning (we were there for three mornings), but different meats, different types of potatoes, grits, oatmeal, cold cereals, fruits, yogurts, an array of breads, juices, a coffee bar with tea and hot chocolate as well, and soooooo many toppings and spreads to go on anything you want. Our room was very nice, very clean, and the shower is huge! The staff was attentive, both in the restaurant and the hotel as a whole. Our tv went out twice, and both times when we called the front desk, they apologized and sent a tech up to help us. The housekeepers checked in to make sure we had whatever ever we needed; and everywhere we turned there was friendliness. Our hotel was directly across the street from the Martin Marietta theater where we had tickets for a show. So, after a yummy dinner in the Overlook restaurant, we strolled across the street and enjoy an evening with Henry Cho! We walked around downtown, enjoyed a weekend away from home, and felt very safe and secure. We will definitely be back, Residence Inn!
