I was in NC for work and wanted to be near the airport the final night. I really liked this hotel. The location is good to walk, and restaurants are nearby. I liked the view, and the property is quiet. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. However, the bathroom was a little odd in direct relation to the bed, with a frosted bathroom window next to it. There wasn't a microwave in the room, that was a little disappointing, I had to go downstairs to warm up my soup. I'm a platinum member, and the staff kept trying to come into our room, even though we had late check out that was identified on our account. Big positive the staff was friendly abd there is an onsite bar where there was live music the afternoon we left. read more

All aloft hotels are the same inside and out. Nothing amazing but nothing awful. They had construction in the lobby which was annoying but they have to do it at some point I guess. Great meeting rooms for our teams to have breakfast in but not a great breakfast provided. I like the consistency of Aloft rooms, but the breakfast and other areas (ex. pool) were not great. Hopefully this is being fixed during their construction. read more

I have been a Marriott member since 2008, and I have never had an issue with a hotel reservation until June 17, 2025. I booked one room at the government rate and redeemed an Award night for the second reservation. I did not see the redemption on my Bonvoy app so I contacted the Aloft in Raleigh to see if they could assist me. The young lady I spoke with on the telephone said to me she could make the reservation for me, I confirmed before ending the call that one room was at the government rate and one room was an award night redemption, and she said, yes. Upon checking in I confirmed again that one room was at the government rate and one room was a redemption, and the young lady at the reservation desk, stated, yes. Upon checking out I was told that both rooms were at the government rate and there was nothing no one could do, that I should call Marriott. I called Marriott and was given a case number but the person on the telephone today, stated the case was closed and there was nothing no one could do for me. I am a Lifetime Platinum Elite member have been a Marriott member for quite a while; I have never been treated like this by Marriott. I love the Marriott properties and have shared my experience with several of my friends and family. I've stayed at this hotel a few times for multiple work trips. It's convent and has a lot of nice restaurants and walking opportunities. Each time there is a weird occurrence though. For example, one time the fire alarm went off at like 2 am. One time there was a big roach in my room (which they did give me a new room). The bathrooms are really dark in like all Alofts. Anyway, the people who work here at the desk and the bar are always very nice. The breakfast was ok but I prefer the amazing coffee shop downstairs. You have to pay to park. read more

Just the perfect location for anyone visiting their student at NCState or doing any type of activity associated with campus. It is on Hillsborough Street so one is within walking distance of the student and off campus restaurants and services. The campus is also within walking distance. We had the greatest view of the bell tower from the 3rd floor. We were upgraded upon arrival to a larger suite they had available. It's a clean modern hotel albeit a little aged. The staff is very helpful and there are snacks on the second floor. The ground floor has an interior private corridor that leads to Jubala Coffee, that serves excellent brunch and lunch foods along with good coffee and tea. There are private parking garages which prove extremely handy when trying to find a spot to park. read more

There is a bar and parking which can be rather helpful. The hotel tries for a trendy feel, but some of the scratches and dents need a refresh. Staff were super friendly. read more

We only stayed here for 1 night and it was good enough for our quick trip. In walking distance of restaurants and shopping which is a good plus. If you're a Wolfpack, this is THE place to stay. I honestly could not believe just how convenient this spot is. You're looking at the Bell Tower from the front door!!!! Staff was nice and helpful. We checked in with ease. Parking is located in a small deck just behind the hotel. Buzz in and you'll get a pass when you check in. There's a cute bar on site, Wxyz. I forgot the bartender's name but she was super cool and took great care of us with her heavy handed pours! There's ample outdoor seating overlooking Hillsborough street and the Bell Tower. The decor is super cool. I would describe it as trendy. Clean and comfy are two other words that come to mind. I seriously think this will be our "spot" when visiting our son for the next four years. read more

We love the Aloft. We visit our college student throughout the year. The beds are always comfortable. We always feel safe. It's conveniently located to food, shopping, the college. But this trip was exceptional. Every detail was covered by Dwight and his staff. He was intentional with our kids. He was always welcoming and offering a very pleasant smile. My wife took a clinic across the street at NC State and her work gave her the choice to choose where she stayed during the clinic. She jumped at the chance to stay at Aloft as we are both huge fans of this brand. We have stayed at several of their locations domestically and internationally. This location stacks up well. Now, I was in town really early and called in to see if I could check in early. It wasn't possible, but the staff was nice and welcoming through out my call. When I did check in it was pretty quick and painless. They have a garage underneath the hotel and at the back of the hotel. I parked underneath. Parking is $8 dollars a night. I could have rolled the dice and parked outside on the street, but my wife's job is picking up the tab, so covered parking it is. The hotel is not too big and my room wasn't too big, but it was modern and chic the way Aloft rooms generally are. Every inch seemed clean and kept up. I really appreciate that since my wife hates stray hairs and dust. The view from the non-side street isn't too good at the moment as there is a lot of construction going on, but it isn't horrible either. The better side probably is the street side which faces NC State. You can see part of their pretty campus. The staff was very nice and accommodating my whole stay. A huge perk that this location offers is the use of bikes. You just go downstairs and ask for a bike and they will get you a helmet and a lock. I used this a couple times during my stay to go visit my wife on campus without driving and to explore the surrounding area. The bikes worked great and they take care of them which is important. The pool looked nice and inviting, but I didn't visit. They also have the WXYZ lounge. It was popping often. There were people playing pool and grabbing drinks at night. You can definitely hang out in the hotel if you choose. There are things to do. I thought the location of this Aloft was pretty darn good. There are tons of things to do around. Checking out took a little bit of time, but my overall impression of the hotel and staff was that it was well run and that this place holds good value. read more

Spent one night here recently and it was my first experience with this particular brand of the Marriott chain of hotels. The brand itself is upscale and hip. The design, furnishings and decor remind me of a modern European nightclub. The best part about this particular aloft hotel is the location. It is basically right in the middle of the NC State University campus and close to restaurants and shops and other activities. There's a parking deck as well as an underground parking garage. Parking will cost you an extra 10 bucks per day but it's worth it because of the limited parking in this busy area of Raleigh. Probably the best part of my experience here was dealing with the staff. Everyone with whom I had contact was positive, friendly and eager to help. The main lobby area is very inviting and opens on to a large deck over looking Hillsborough Street and the campus. It's an extremely pleasant place to have a drink or a meal. Of course in these times of the virus you're going to need to have your food delivered or bring it yourself. The bar is open though. Speaking of food, they do not provide breakfast but there are small breakfast items available for purchase as well as complimentary coffee. There is one electric vehicle charging station in the underground garage. As well they have complimentary bikes for you to check out. The reason I give it three stars versus a higher rating is it was very difficult to get any sleep due to the traffic noise in this very, very busy area. And after all the main point of staying at a hotel is to get a night's rest, correct? We opted for a suite because we wanted to have space for visitors. Our corner suite was large and had a great view of both the campus and downtown. The room itself had some odd design features. For example, there's no bathroom door. So if you want to get up early and turn on a light to use the bathroom, you're going to wake everyone in the room. Conflicted about whether or not I would stay here again. Perhaps if I had a room on the back side of the hotel the noise may have been abated? read more

Alas, you probably cannot find a closer location if you want to visit NC State. I found the Aloft Raleigh to be a spirited hotel. There were a few points that I very much appreciated. First, they only charge $20 dollars for a dog. This is reasonable and accommodating. Second, the hotel charged a reasonable price for parking. Lastly, they recognized my hotel elite status and gave me a nice room without having to request it. The rooms have an open trendy feel which was pleasant. Staff were friendly and make the guest feel welcome even in the Covid era. read more

So, this was our second stay at an Aloft Hotel during our road trip. We wanted a break and to feel civilized for a couple of nights before we went back to camping. This is a great hotel chain, although I didn't like this one *quite* as much as I did the one in Asheville. This one is in a very busy area, and we got the impression that there were a lot of business travelers staying at this one, which was totally fine. It was still pet friendly, although they had a policy that we had to sign that we wouldn't leave our pet alone in the room at any time, which was a little unusual, but fine. The policy in general (as other reviewers have mentioned) is a lot more restrictive than the other Aloft hotels. The views aren't as nice, although you get a decent view of the carillon (which is being restored, so it's mostly a picture of a lot of scaffolding right now) and our particular room had a view of a lot of construction. That's totally fine though, we're not always there for the view. Checking in and out was totally fine, no hassles. They have the same amenities as the other Alofts, however I noticed that instead of a water dispenser in the hall, they had a plastic bottle in the room, and they had fewer towels available. Still and all, if I hadn't stayed at another Aloft so recently, I probably would be more enthusiastic. This is a really great hotel! I'd definitely stay here again. read more

Friendly staff and clean rooms plus nice views of the clock tower. My only complaint is their pet restriction. Only 1 dog allowed less than 40lbs. Most Aloft hotels do not have this restriction. I've stayed in many and this is the only one that I've come across that does. Other than the dog restriction, I do appreciate the complimentary water bottle and Bliss amenities. Plus the XYZ bar is a nice place for a nightcap. read more

Very, very nice hotel located in a great location! So I thought it'll be a great idea to spend a few days in Raleigh before heading down to Myrtle Beach for my birthday week. Raleigh is special because: 1. It's the first city I moved to after leaving home in NY state during bad times years ago. Long story. 2. My husband is a NC State alum. We eventually met in Charlotte. So back to the hotel. So awesome being walking distance to a Target, ton of restaurants and a busy shopping center. Really a great place to stay. Our room was clean and spacious. Two nights at this Aloft which is next to the campus of NCSU. They also share the building and parking with a great coffee shop (try the nutella waffle) and a super taco joint (scallop taco!). My room on the third floor faced the street and so there was some street noise from particularly loud vehciles. A few slamming doors here and there. The beeping from the crosswalk seems to have been resolved. I was here in the winter time, so there wasn't much going on outside. Note that the side parking lot is the same street as a few of the fraternity/sorority houses. The room was comfortable and spacious with a decent work desk, a large flat screen television, coffee service, a sufficient number of power outlets, reasonable wifi (that worked in both restaurants!) and a nice shower (which had no handholds other than the one on the door). Probably not the best layout if you're sharing the room. read more

We stayed here on our honeymoon get away. It was our first time coming to Raleigh and The location was perfect! We were close to everything, a 7-10 min drive from the warehouse district. I couldn't have chosen a better location. The staff was so friendly and are very aware of Covid and keeping everyone safe. The lounge area is beautiful and fun to hang out at and grab a drink. We had a king corner room, which was beautiful. The only negatives were the one ply toilet paper (bring your own!) and my husband wasn't a fan of the comforter (I loved it), but he thought it was too thin. read more

I stayed here just for a night and was pretty impressed. I typically stay at full-service locations but really enjoyed the ambiance and vibe Aloft had. Just walking in it felt upbeat, airy and energizing. The staff was fantastic. Extremely welcoming and friendly, and couldn't do enough to help you out. The rooms also had that fresh airy feel and a calming ambiance. The hotel and room felt extremely clean and well maintained, and the bedding was very comfortable. Overall it was a great experience though I'd consider the price pretty high for this class of hotel --still enjoyed nevertheless. This location was very easy to spot from the street. Just an incredible experience. When we checked in we were early and Dwight was SUPER helpful. Allowed us to grab a room so we could change and leave our bags before going out on the town. At WXYZ (the bar in the hotel) we had a great time with Robin, our bartender. She gave us great recommendations for dinner, which we followed, and had an amazing evening. In case anyone needs a recommendation, we highly recommend Gonza Tacos Y Tequila (which is attached to the hotel). Book this hotel if you can! read more

Unfortunately, all other hotels were booked out, and Aloft seemed to be reasonable. A great plus is it's central location near NCSU. But let's be realistic: in Raleigh, everything is central as there are no distances. The design was artsy and modern but may need some maintenance. Nice bar on 2nd floor. Small fitness and proximity to Jubala Cafe. Negative are the trouble to park the car at night: even though there is a garage, it is far from certain to secure a spot. PS: The unpleasant when coming back late that the room service had "forgotten" to clean the room was remedied by the staff by writing off all incidentals. read more

Each and every single person we met has been amazing here, bartender, night people, host people bar tender the " knitting people " management and on and on. We enjoyed our stay so much I sabotaged my work job so we can spend a few more days ( sad but actually true) We don't stay anywhere without getting annoyed for example could I get a room ekey? And they act like you committed a mortal sin. Not one person here wasn't amazing. I was put up at the Aloft Raleigh for relocation. I was moving to the Raleigh area and outside of work did not know a soul. The staff at the Aloft were so helpful and welcoming, that they made it feel like a home for me for those three weeks I stayed there. They are also super Pet friendly which was important to me. Jolee and Robin were particularly helpful since I would see them most often when I would sit at the WXYZ bar in the evenings. I could not have asked for a better place to stay! Additionally the rooms were nice, facility clean, and location is close to great restaurants and anything you need. I highly recommend it for a stay. read more

Anytime I get an upgrade, no matter where I'm staying it's hard not to feel like a complete baller. Although I don't gamble (I'm risk averse) this is the closest to the equivalent of what I'd imagine it would feel like to unexpectedly win big. So when I checked in after a long day and was given an upgrade I was naturally excited. However, I was even a little more boosted when I walked down the hallway of my floor to realize that the kind folks at the front desk had hooked me up with a corner room, which was actually a huge suite! If you've stayed at an Aloft before you know what to expect. But if you haven't, try to imagine a simplified, slightly less lux version of The W Hotel. While it's still trendy and playful with quirky and modern elements, the more affordable price points definitely make a difference in terms of the grand nature of things. With that being said, my stay here was great (although it was literally only for 8-9 hours, most of which consisted of me sleeping.) However the staff working were so nice and cool, and a glass of champagne from the bar before retiring to our rooms really hit the spot. Although you can't expect any fancy amenities or plush bath products, you'll find a clean and comfortable room that will suit all of your basic needs at a very reasonable price. Plus, the location for this particular Aloft was super convenient and the coffee shop downstairs is quality. This was my second time staying here, and both times were consistently satisfying so I'll definitely return again in the future. read more

First off, I did not stay at the hotel. I was only here to attend an evening group session in one of their meeting rooms. The room itself was fine, nothing out of the ordinary, although it was quite cold, in fact, it was freezing!! Since the hotel is right next to a bar it got very loud from the music playing. My first impression of what I assume to be the lobby off the underground parking and also the street side of Hillsborough is small and unimpressive. The furniture is modern, but that was about all I can think of. The open staircase going upstairs just brought down lots of noise and it sounded like some event was happening. I'd like to see one of the rooms sometime to know if a similar impression extends there as well. read more

One of the best hotels I've ever had the pleasure of staying at. Very modern, extremely accommodating, and some of the best customer service you'll ever find. Covered garage parking. I believe it was $8 per day. I felt very safe and that my vehicle was in good hands. Very close to NC State if you have a student at the college. Very easy to walk to campus. In fact it is easy to walk to several great restaurants and stores. Plus their breakfast is beyond amazing. It is not included and is an extra charge but it is made to order. They also have an awesome terrace that opens up from their full service bar. I plan on staying there every chance I get when I am in Raleigh. It is that awesome. read more

Modern, hip hotel with a great location next to NC State. Unfortunately for me, I found the amenities and service to be somewhat limited at the price point. The room is stylish but also small and lacking in amenities. The towels are scratchy and there's no bathrobe. The bed was less comfortable then I expected. The bathroom is ok but bathroom products are average. I will add the room has a nice, modern decor and the TV is quite large. The hotel staff forgot to clean my room one day (this seems to be a common trend in other reviews), and when I called the front desk, they insinuated I left the 'do not disturb' sign on the front of the room (which I did not). All they offered was to send the cleaners up but this wouldn't be convenient at a late hour. Additionally, they charged me for bottles of water which did not seem necessary - despite being an elite member. There is no full-service hotel restaurant. Instead there is a very stylish and fun (this is a huge plus) WXYZ bar with cocktails and light food options. There is also a breakfast chef in the morning. In the lobby, there is a shop called Jubala Coffee that was excellent - they exceeded my expectations with fresh and delicious coffee. There is a nice, compact gym with cardio and weight machines, and a small outdoor pool. While I liked this hotel overall, I felt there are better options at this price point. read more

First stay at an Aloft and I would definitely return. After paying an outrageous pet fee for one night at another Marriot property, we selected Aloft for it's reasonable pet fee. If I travel with a pet again, Aloft would be a top pick. There was plenty of parking due to COVID reduced occupancy, but it might be insufficient during normal times. This location is right across the street from NC State and there were plenty of restaurants offering take out within walking distance. Aloft has a small dog area, but across the street is a lovely tree-lined grass lawn area. After spending time further south, it was great to stay at a hotel that takes COVID precautions seriously. Staff wore masks at all times and social distancing signs and hand sanitizer in the public areas. Barstools and tables had been removed to allow proper social distancing. The bar area has a nice outdoor seating area and sliding doors were open to allow ventilation to the indoor area. Rooms were clean. Bathroom sink/vanity area lacks a door, and makeup mirror and the lighting is not great. Bliss Spa toiletry items were a nice touch, but there were only two sets of towels and washcloths for a suite with two queen beds. My college age daughter loved her suite, and is looking forward to staying again on the way back to college! read more
