AC hotels are one of my fav, and I appreciate how consistent they are in the different cities and states I've visited. They always seem to located in or near a shopping center, and I love that, especially when I tend to book these hotels when I need rest more than anything. The other shops and retail stores in the area looked great, and I love the options. We went to get donuts, and there's space to walk your dog if you have one. Breakfast on the morning was just alright, I seem to remember a better breakfast. This just reminded me of the free continental breakfasts at cheaper hotels, not something I paid $16 for. The parking area has a fee per night, the spots are kind of tight, but it was nice to have a place to park my car safely. I wish I had more time to explore the area, but it was very nice. This was a great place to stop on my road trip, I felt safe in the hotel. Staff was friendly, and check in/out was a breeze.

Large windows and lots of natural lighting.

Only decaf coffee provided in the rooms. Breakfast is an additional charge on top of what is already paid - the kitchen manager will watch you like a hawk. The food isn't anything special either. The TV worked and the big windows were nice. I told the front desk about the decaf coffee the next morning upon checkout and they were very dismissive of my concerns. Oh yeah, I also couldn't find the ice machine anywhere. There was a mention of a hydration station but it was not user friendly to find at all.

Beautiful hotel with amazing amenities and staff! Stayed here after ctaching a great deal on hotels.com and wanting to check out Durham. I arrived a little late on my check in date and it was no problem at all. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They told me that my breakfast would be included in my rate and to let the attendant know in the morning. The attendant was super friendly and understood that my breakfast was included. They had a nice spread of fresh meats, cheeses, fruit, Greek yogurt, multiple coffees, and breakfast sandwiches. The lobby was beautiful, so I took advantage of that and worked away while eating breakfast for a couple of hours and it was no problem at all. After breakfast I checked out their workout area that was super spacious and had a peloton! So, I took my first ride and it was amazing! The rooms are super open, comfortable, and the tvs have tons of channels. The bed does not make you want to move, so definitely build in some rest time! Overall the hotel was so amazing and easily accessible to Duke and downtown. Definitely a must go to while visiting Durham!!!

Super chic European Modern style with cool vibes. Somehow they've managed the modern simplistic design but still managed to make the hotel feel comfortable and inviting The rooms are huge and well outfitted with a great bench along one wall under the tv that makes a great space for your stuff. A built in desk with in room Keurig is greatly appreciated The bathroom is huge and incredibly well-lit with a LARGE shower enclosure and ample counter space. Hanging space is a little tight but if you remove the robes and ironing board, it's sufficient Shampoo, Conditioner & body wash are in the shower. Other nice amenities are on a rolling cart under the sink. Overall a really nice room, comfy bed and friendly staff Breakfast buffet is yummy and we'll supplied by the attendants. Lots of healthy (and good less healthy) choices and a Nespresso machine plus drip coffee. If you get the rate that includes breakfast, it's well worth it Would definitely stay here again without hesitation

Our experience at Ac hotels was phenomenal. We spent one night here and would stay here again in a heartbeat. This hotel is super trendy but still gives a chic boutique feel. My fiancé and I loved the ambiance and the modern look with the fire place between the hotel lobby and restaurant. The hotel snack bar was packed with everything you could ever think of including wine, candy, food, local treats and travel essentials. The conference rooms were spacious and the gym had a brand new peloton and weights! We loved hanging out in the bar area. We ordered off their small plates menu and got Caesar salad, meatballs, a meat and cheese platter, and the most delicious macarons you could find in the area. The drink menu had some great options as well. We had some tasty cocktails in addition to one of the best old fashions you could imagine. Breakfast was awesome as it was a European style buffet. You had everything here including sweet & savory quiche, fresh breads, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, yogurt, croissants, coffee, and more! We wish we could have this breakfast everyday. We stayed in a king room and truly felt like royalty. We loved how spacious the room was and how we could actually hang out & relax in our living space. The bathroom was probably one of my favorite parts as it was absolutely beautiful. Most importantly, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. One of the best parts of our experience was coming to learn that the head staff took almost exclusive part in the design and decoration of the hotel. Knowing that you have staff that treat this as their own baby is very refreshing and not something you frequently find in the industry- especially with a large chain brand like a Marriott. We highly recommend that anyone visiting the RTP area make this their stay of choice time and time again.

Seems like a good bar that closes early, and that's all there is to it. It's very expensive.

The Durham Convention Center is attached and the Carolina Theare is next to it. DPAC was about a 10-minute walk if that and included waiting for the traffic signals. Valet parking is $30 a night, so I decided to find a place on the street again. So I got street parking right near the hotel for free as it was the weekend. I am not a fan of valet or of paying $30 for parking. There are parking garages nearby if you prefer that. The staff was very friendly and I felt treated very well here as a Titanium member with an early check-in, lounge access and free breakfast. I didn't see any snacks in the lounge this visit. For breakfast, you need to use your key to enter the lounge. Beverages are in the lounge, but you go to the restaurant buffet for the food. It is quieter in the lounge than where the restaurant is located. My room was on the other side of the building this time and I didn't hear the train once. Usually, when I use a free night certificate, I tend to be put in the worst room available. But thankfully, that wasn't the case here, my room had a large window with a lot of natural light. The room had the vinyl plank flooring to look like hardwood and the decor and furniture were up to date. My stay was very comfortable here. This is one of the nicer hotels I've stayed and look forward to my next visit. I can see coming here for a staycation.

The lobby is large with a bar that offers up a (very limited and price-gouging) Starbucks menu, with plenty of places to sit even if you're not ordering anything. Speaking of, I recommend you leave the hotel in search of coffee because my very basic iced espresso that's normally around 6 dollars at a Starbucks was 10 dollars here plus tip. My room was pretty basic, don't expect much in terms of a view even though the windows are large. Decent-sized, comfy beds/linens. No bathrobe in the room (not sure if you can ask for one). I was informed that I'd get access to breakfast/evening refreshments in the lounge but I didn't have time to partake so I can't report on that (nor the gym). While slightly dated in appearance and a little basic overall, I feel the location makes up for all of that. I also got it at a decent rate which helps.

Very friendly crowds, i got to experience the southern hospitality. I got a room with king bed and city view. It was nice to watch the sunset on the skyline each evening. It is next to the pool, so we can hear people at the pool. But it's very nice if you want to enjoy the pool. In terms of security, the place is locked at night. There's a security guard. It makes it ironic that pool view rooms are made to seem special because they are the motel rooms. They are also super loud because they overlook the Patio venue and have very thin walls. The furniture is quite dated, but they call it boutique. The rooms are not super clean. The bed was relatively comfortable for the quality of the property which is low. The lobby however is renovated and pretty nice looking. Walking into the lobby is a stark contrast from walking out to and into your room! They did not have breakfast available for our entire stay. They charge $1 for drip coffee "if you bring your own mug"! That had me laughing out loud. They didn't take the destination charges off our bill since we are globalists. The best feature of this property is the location. It's right in downtown Durham which is super cute! Go across the street to M Sushi or Queeny's for very different but both equally awesome food and experiences. Bottom line: If you need somewhere in downtown Durham to sleep and that's all, this spot will work.

The room was very nice, clean, and cozy. The breakfast was quite impressive, pool was so clean, and all areas were well kept and maintained. The staff always looked busy, very determined to ensure a great stay for everyone. Only complaint was there were no souvenirs, my son really wanted a Hampton Inn t-shirt or hat. I realize that this isn't a common thing in a hotel, but he would've loved it. We really liked the shop area in the lobby and think a few souvenirs could've been placed there. But that sure doesn't limit how awesome our stay was. They have no idea how happy they made a little boy; they made his birthday dream come true. It was literally like 30 minutes from our house, but for that boy it may have well had been another world. Thank you to the incredible staff and team for giving him this amazing gift. This Residence Inn in Durham fell short in ways that are difficult to overlook. The positives: * Convenient location, especially for Duke and medical visits * Spacious room with modern décor * Extra-large bathroom and generous vanity -- easily the best feature * Breakfast area was spacious and pleasant (food was standard Residence Inn fare) The problems: Sleep quality is a basic hotel expectation, and this property did not deliver. The HVAC unit was extremely loud and cycled on and off all night. There was no clear way to turn it off completely, and it repeatedly woke us up. The refrigerator was older and made a constant ticking/compressor noise. Between the two, restful sleep was nearly impossible. Parking added another layer of frustration. There are very few surface spaces, a very small garage, and guests are charged for parking on top of that. Charging for parking when availability is this limited feels unreasonable. Additionally, the shower was missing body wash upon arrival -- a small detail, but one that speaks to oversight. We reported the HVAC noise and missing body wash to Tiffany and a woman who appeared to be a manager (Scott). While both were polite, no Bonvoy points or other acknowledgment of the inconvenience were offered. The room layout and location are strong, but between the noise issues and parking situation, we would choose another hotel in Durham in the future.

Located just off the Duke east campus, it's along Main Street, a couple minutes from Ninth street in one direction, downtown the other, and little jaunt to the Durham Bulls park and very close to the main freeways in the area. The building is very long - we were at the far end and it helped us get our steps in! The room we were in was at the end in a corner and was an odd shape - literally no other way to put it. The bedroom was good size, the couch room was just a little small. We have three little dudes sleeping in there and they did just fine. I just required a little feng shui! The bathroom had a random fifth wall that the toilet sat on. Not a big deal, just different than we've seen elsewhere. Our room was right over the parking garage, which was also very awkwardly shaped. There's a spot at the far end that you need to back into as we found it impossible to three point into it. Again, not a show stopper, but good to know ahead of time. The overflow lot across the street was much more straightforward. There's nice sitting space, a lively bar and a good medium sized workout area. The breakfast was solid, the market delightful, the staff lovely and the grounds overall very nice. It's a great property with some quirks and lot of really nice character. We'll be back!
