There are several restaurants and bars in the immediate area (Seaboard Station) and it's a short and safe walk in one direction to Stanbury, Standard Food and Beer, Oakwood Pizza, etc....and another short walk to Glenwood South if you like the lively, bar action. About at 10 minute walk either way. Seaboard itself is up-and-coming with a few options, but still growing. We did have a fire alarm pull at 1:15am but I won't ding the hotel for this. Hotel is new and clean, rooms are what you would expect for a Hyatt House, bed was comfortable, rooftop bar is a nice option and wasn't packed on a Friday night. I would stay again. Pros: Clean, rooftop bar, decent and safe "downtown-ish" location. Cons: Parking is a little confusing ($25/self or $35/valet), free breakfast sucked (egg seemed like from a powder, extremely salty sausage, no bananas) Tips: Don't stay in 615-631 (under the rooftop bar) as you'll hear chairs constantly scraping/moving until 12:30am or so and starting again at 8am or so). If you want to self park, just go straight to the garage off halifax just north of seaboard, under the new apartment complex. $25/night, very short (1 block) walk.

This hotel had pretty much everything we needed for a good stay. 24 hr gym, breakfast, happy hour, and plenty of common area lounge/seating for informal socialization and brainstorming. We enjoyed our last night outside by the firepit with some barbeque and drinks from the bar. I was in a double queen room. Very clean and spacious, had all the amenities except for some body lotion. I probably could have asked for some but luckily I brought my own. I used the gym a couple times and liked how open it was and there was a good variety of equipment (free weights, cardio machines, smith machines, bosu ball, and kettlebells). They had a water machine, towels, and even complimentary headphones. The only place I didn't get to check out was the pool, but with summer essentially over, I didn't really expect to make it out there and our schedule was jam packed anyway. Overall I enjoyed my stay here, it was nice to collapse onto a comfortable bed after consecutive 16+ hour days. Just wish they had EV chargers here! @azfitfoodfun

This is a converted motel (which is my go-to stay given the choice), and while some of the rooms are accessible from the outdoors, most are accessible from an indoor hallway. We ended up staying in two different rooms over the course of four nights (we had back-to-back reservations) but moving from one room to the next was smooth and straightforward. Both rooms were clean and comfortable, and well-stocked with snacks and drinks to purchase. The Longleaf branding is also adorable, and they sell some fun trinkets at the front desk. You can even buy the cute tie-dye rooms that they keep in the rooms if you would like! The front desk staff was helpful for check-in and check-out as well. I would definitely stay here again!

I would stay here again. Amazing natural light and the blinds really make the room dark which is awesome. Only annoying thing was someone had a dog and they kept barking at night. They charge you $75 cover fee if you want any snacks, drinks, or damage the place - but they provide a refund at the end of your stay.

The hotel is only about a year old, so everything feels fresh, modern, and spotless. Our room was perfect -- comfortable and well laid out. Honestly, I almost want to plan another trip to North Carolina just to stay here again.

It's a living gallery, a meditation on design and serenity. We spent hours in the communal space, talking, laughing, and letting music fill the air (their sound system is state of the art). It was so comfortable and inspiring that we chose to stay in rather than venture out. John is not merely a host; he is a curator of experiences -- part concierge, part architect, part storyteller. His presence elevates the stay without ever intruding upon it. We usually seek a new stay with every visit to Raleigh. But The Store has changed that. It's more than accommodation; it's an experience we'll keep coming back to.

I am so glad I chose this property to experience the benefit. As you can see from the photos, the king room is absolutely gorgeous and so plush. There are so many little details about the way that the rooms are crafted as well as the square footage that are obvious indications that they intentionally designed every room for comfort and luxury. I received a Lakeview room that was absolutely gorgeous. I really do enjoy how they style the bathrooms to have the private toilet with both the tub and shower bathing options. I also love all of the integrated technology conveniences throughout. There is a separate seating area and desk area, which sometimes other hotels compromise on and blend both together instead of having them intentionally be separate zones. What was also a fabulous touch was the complementary Pinot Noir wine, the complementary chocolate, and spring water and filtered water sprinkled throughout the room. The mini bar was well stocked, but I will say I was a bit disappointed in the beverage choices. It seemed a little bit overdone and underwhelming. What I appreciate the most is the soft touch lighting panels in each area of the room that allows you to control ambient and fluorescent lighting. For business travelers like myself who arrive late in the evening, it is such a comfort to be able to control the level of lighting in a room. Overall, excellent stay and Ms Tuesdi at the front desk is an absolute delight. I really hope that they promote her because she is the quintessential hospitality Employee.

After my spa visit I headed to the pool and was seated in a spot with an umbrella, as requested. Unfortunately, the umbrella was broken and I had to move myself to a spot with a functioning umbrella. Next, we ordered drinks, which we both were enjoying until the staff walked by and swiped up my unfinished drink. He didn't ask if I wanted anything, just silently took it and kept moving. My husband decided to keep his drink in hand for the rest of his, and when he was done the guy drove by and snatched his up. He didn't stop to ask if we needed anything else. I was planning to have drinks and lunch by the pool, but after that moment I decided I was done with the Umstead pool and left.

This hotel lobby was a beacon of light! They even had a woman at the door welcoming everyone in and directing the crowd to the bar. I'm sure this was incredibly overwhelming for the one bartender they had on staff at the time but she was absolutely doing her best. My husband and I grabbed drinks from their grab and go cooler in an effort to not overwhelm the bartender further. A lady at the front desk rang us up and she was kind and welcoming. We sat on a couch in their absolutely beautiful lobby and waited out the storm. I'm so impressed with the beautiful space and the welcoming and gracious hotel staff. I saw a group of hotel guests playing a board game at a table. They even invited us to join in but the concert venue had just announced we could go back to the concert. I would definitely like to stay there as a hotel guest if ever attending another show at RedHat. If I lived close by I would be a regular at their bar and regularly enjoy their beautiful lobby.

The centerpiece of the house's interior is a rotunda supported by four Corinthian columns and lit by a stained glass window located on the roof. Walking into the foyer you cant help but embrace the timeless grace, where every corner whispers of history and a bygone era. There is a quiet serenity to the space, as if time slows just a little bit inside. The modern touch added to the old renovated mansion does come with a bit of a sharp, sterile elegance of a modern mansion. The Parlor is a great place to enjoy a delicious craft cocktail and even better, ADULTS ONLY! There are also many other lovely seating arrangements throughout the property, including outdoors, and a few even come with fire pits. Everything is lovely and though it is all modern and sleek, it still feels fitting for the original era of the house. The cocktail area takes up most of the main floor, with a stand-up bar just off the entryway with a few tables and then a larger lounging area with sofas and chairs just beyond. The drinks are exceptionally good, and the spirits menu is creative. They also offer a few small plates. There is plenty of paved parking immediately next to the hotel for guests only, so that is not a hassle as it can be at some B&B/inn-type establishments. At check-in, you are offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to set the tone. The rooms are comfortable, but I will say that the entry-level ones are quite small (which is apparent on the website), but for the rates charged there isn't even a place to sit and read a book other than the bed. There's one small, delicate wicker chair that would be for tying shoes or whatever, but not lounging. The bed is luxuriously dressed, and there is drawer space and a minifridge, but no closet -- hanging items can go on hooks by the door out in the open. The bathroom is spacious enough, with a broad sink and elegant tilework. The lighting fixtures throughout are nifty. I found the breakfast sort of average for this type of place. I came later on, so perhaps there is more earlier, but there were a few pastries, some hard-boiled eggs, and fruit when I arrived. There's also a fancy coffee-drink contraption, but those aren't my thing so I left that alone. It's a very easy walk across the Boylan Bridge and down a couple of blocks to the area of the Dillon with several restaurants, and the performing arts center is not far beyond that. Location-wise, there's plenty that's walkable but also more an easy drive away.
