I booked this wonderful place months ahead of time for our bday weekend and she was prompt and courteous with her correspondence. We conveniently paid her via Paypal (super breeze) and when we arrived at this craftsman bungalow, we were blown away by the details. The flooring, furniture, fixtures, etc. were modern and clean, yet it retained its bungalow charm. I am in love! I am a bitchy JLo super diva when it comes to lodging . . . let me tell you, this place exceeded my lodging expectations and some. White beddings, 4 pillows, 300+ thread count (YES) sheets, plush towels and robes, Judith Jackson toiletries, extra jars of toothpaste and brushes, stocked water bottles, computer, etc. Endless extras of super diva thoughtfulness. I was so relieved and so impressed. It is a half-mile easy walk to downtown Napa which has great dining (try the Bounty Hunter) and other wonderful shops and stores. There is a lemon tree in the backyard! OMG! How cute is that?! Mara plucked some for me and I will make lemon cheesecake this week. Thanks! ;) We felt safe and restful at this place and we cannot wait to return. Thanks Jackie. You made our bday weekend super duper fly.

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. The lady who assisted us was incredibly kind and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. Her warm hospitality truly made our stay even more special. The cottage was cozy, romantic, and just what we were hoping for. We especially loved the jetted tub, it was so relaxing and exactly what we needed. The scenery around the property was beautiful and peaceful, creating the perfect atmosphere for a birthday getaway. The thoughtful touches meant so much to us, the wine bottle and the birthday wishes were such a nice surprise. We also really enjoyed the breakfast; it was delicious and a great way to start the morning. Overall, we had an amazing night. It was much needed, and we're so glad we chose to celebrate there. We will definitely be coming back soon. P.s my man was skeptical at first cause the price but in the end he loved it I knew he would. Can't forget the mimosas too. We loved everything. It was a new experience for us an incredible memory added to our list. Thank youuuu

My only complaint is the dust behind the bed, on the back bed curtain & on the bottom bed lays under the top mattress. Additionally the mattress needs to be replaced asap. It's not good for people with even slightly bad backs. I have a back issue & my husband has an even worse back. He ended up sleeping on the small couch instead. But, I still find this room and hotel to be worth it regardless of that. It's precious. & hopefully they just dust & replace the bed soon :)

It's a great time to share what we all did that day and what the evening dinner plans are. Without fail, the next morning we all check in on our dinner experiences and share recommendations! This year we arrived to a generous bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries as a special gift and felt pampered every minute until we had to leave. Of course we love Victorian homes, so this checked all our boxes. A beautiful mansion. We were kindly upgraded to a king room when we arrived and it was very nice and comfortable. Quite spacious. Alexandra's Plaza Suite is a delightful place stay in the Wine Country…read more It's located just a block from the plaza at the center of town so very convenient to shops, restaurants, wine tasting rooms and some interesting historical sites dating back to the 1800s. Despite being so close to the Plaza, the property is slightly off the road at the end of a long driveway, so it's very quiet and private. The property contains two living spaces on either side of a large garage. In the larger house live the friendly and gracious owners and hosts, Cathie and Gene. They give the guests complete privacy but are fully available should any needs arise. And if you visit the Mission San Francisco Solano on the Plaza, you might be lucky enough to have Gene as your docent tour leader! The suite is a small but well appointed one bedroom apartment, complete with an open area with a living/TV area, dining area, and kitchen. At the end of the hall past the bath is a bedroom with a big closet and a door. I mention the door since many places that call themselves "suites" have bedrooms without a close-able door! Outside is a covered patio with a roomy table and comfortable chairs, along with places to sit in the sun. The property is filled with fruit trees, flowers and vegetables. Cathie and Gene have put a lot of thought into comfort and aesthetics, with attractive and comfortable furniture as well as lots of thoughtful extras like a large supply of bed pillows with styles to suit every taste. The bedroom in particular is extremely quiet and comfortable; great for sleeping in if you're so inclined. You'll find books and games, snacks and drinks, toiletries and wine country information, all in a wide variety and in plentiful supply. The overall feel is that of a private home designed for the comfort of guests. With lots of windows and several fans, it's easy to be comfortable with purely natural air (which is my personal preference). For the occasional very hot day, there is a recently installed air conditioner that is both silent and efficient; this can be very nice after a day out and about in the blazing summer sun. I strongly recommend Alexandra's for a stay in Sonoma!
