I booked this wonderful place months ahead of time for our bday weekend and she was prompt and courteous with her correspondence. We conveniently paid her via Paypal (super breeze) and when we arrived at this craftsman bungalow, we were blown away by the details. The flooring, furniture, fixtures, etc. were modern and clean, yet it retained its bungalow charm. I am in love! I am a bitchy JLo super diva when it comes to lodging . . . let me tell you, this place exceeded my lodging expectations and some. White beddings, 4 pillows, 300+ thread count (YES) sheets, plush towels and robes, Judith Jackson toiletries, extra jars of toothpaste and brushes, stocked water bottles, computer, etc. Endless extras of super diva thoughtfulness. I was so relieved and so impressed. It is a half-mile easy walk to downtown Napa which has great dining (try the Bounty Hunter) and other wonderful shops and stores. There is a lemon tree in the backyard! OMG! How cute is that?! Mara plucked some for me and I will make lemon cheesecake this week. DO NOT STAY HERE -- Very Disappointing Experience…read more We were extremely disappointed when we arrived at the Chardonnay Lodge. The online listing was, in our opinion, very misleading and did not accurately represent what we experienced. The property is right on Jefferson Street, and the traffic noise was significant. Not being in Napa before, we had no idea the location would be this bad. Looking back at the listing photos, we noticed that many were tight close-ups that didn't really give you a sense of the overall property or its surroundings. The High School is across the street and over a block, adding to the traffic and foot traffic. The listing also advertises an on-property vineyard. Technically, there is one, but it is tiny and certainly not what we imagined based on the description. Our room was clean, which I will give them credit for, but it was very small, dated, and not particularly comfortable. The air conditioner was right next to the bed, so I was either freezing or had to turn it off. It was also extremely loud--although ironically, the noise helped drown out some of the traffic from Jefferson Street. Another odd note: they had a bathrobe, just one, even though the bed was a double or small queen. The view from our bathroom window was of what appeared to be a work/storage yard behind the lodge, which definitely didn't add to the "Napa wine country" experience we were expecting. We were so disappointed that we decided not to stay our second night. I asked the property to refund us for that unused night, but they refused. I understand that not every hotel is going to be luxurious, but our issue was the difference between how this property was presented online and what we actually found when we arrived. Had the listing and photos given us a more accurate picture of the property, we would have booked somewhere else. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the Chardonnay Lodge and would not stay here again.

We had 2 couples, but the bathroom is spacious and never caused an issue for any of us. The place is very clean; towels and sheets all smelled like a Downey commercial. You can tell it is all very well taken care of; beds were very comfortable too. It is stocked w/ anything/everything you can think of needing during your stay and you're well within walking distance of downtown for excellent wine tasting and restaurants. The English gardens are beautiful and sitting areas around the back of the house are perfect for a cozy hour of reading/relaxing. The only downside to our stay were the 2 cats that decided to get it on our last night at 1AM for about 20 mins. That's the house's fault...we were just unlucky, I guess. The neighborhood is very nice; no worries about crime. Overall, we were very safe, more than pleased with our stay and will definitely stay again. Keep in mind there are no staff members on the site except for breakfast and at check in between 4-6p. Raphael was able to answer my questions via text. Free parking is a plus. I enjoyed the hot tub and the kitchen area that has tea, bottled and sparkling water and coffee. The fireplace in the room and skylight was a special touch. I will stay here again in the future.

Nicely decorated, automatic fireplace, soaking tub, loved the humongous shower, double TVs in living room and bedroom. Our room faced 1st street. The TV has basic channels and allows you to cast. We used the huge soaking tub and the fireplace was automatic. The walk in shower was huge and pressure and hot water were totally fine. The location, service and the hotel was amazing for a romantic getaway.

We got champagne at check in along with fantastic cookies. The room was well appointed with a fireplace and private hot tub in room. The shower too was spacious, clean, and powerful. Overall the place checked all the boxes and then some. The breakfast was over and above our expectations. Fresh fruit and a delicious homemade muffin to start. Cold juices and hot coffee. Yogurt and granola. All before the menu comes out with a custom made hot breakfast. My wife got avocado toast and I got an omelette. Both came with house made potatoes and mine had an option for a variety of toasts to choose from. All delicious and a great way to start the day. Really grateful to have found this place and already thinking about when we could go back. Also, perhaps most important, it's walkable to just about everything downtown, including the oxbow market and all the restaurants and shops in between, of which there are many.

The answering service did not know what to do, but acknowledged this complaint had been made before. Next day, management made it right with a sizable discount, and they were very nice about it. I tried to be as well. We checked out on good terms, and would consider going back; but not to that room. Other than that, breakfast both mornings was delicious, the service was great, and the bed was very comfortable. Just beware the Lavender porch room. Trust me.
