Walking distance from restaurants and shops. This B&B is at the intersection of First and Jefferson streets, with quick access from Hwy 29. It sits directly across from the Wine Spectator. We revisited 1801 First for the 9th time to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Once again, Blair and Carrie and Laura and Chef did not disappoint! We first visited for our 10th anniversary and fell in love with Suite 1 which we now consider our home away from home. The breakfasts are fantastic and unique and never disappoint. Wine hour is not to be missed. We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many people from all over the world while sipping wine and snacking on amazing charcuterie over the last 15 years and when Carrie isn't there, Laura is a wonderful hostess who has been working at the inn for years! It's a great time to share what we all did that day and what the evening dinner plans are. Without fail, the next morning we all check in on our dinner experiences and share recommendations! This year we arrived to a generous bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries as a special gift and felt pampered every minute until we had to leave. We stayed in the Jr Suite, Room 5. This is not a luxury inn; it is a poorly maintained historic inn, with a good location. The mattress was hard as a rock and you could hear the metal springs with every move. The sheets were scratchy and rough, and the comforter was dirty. The stopper for the tub had mold in it and everything was generally stained, worn out and terribly maintained. The toiletries were a variety of brands and felt like leftovers from someone's travels. It looks like others had better experiences, but we will definitely not be returning or recommending this place to anyone. There is nothing "luxury" about this inn. read more

On a recent Mother/Daughter trip to Napa, we chose to stay at the 1801 Luxury Inn. A perfect name, for a perfect spot. The house is in a choice location, absolutely authentic and beautifully decorated to fit the period. Blaire and Carrie were remarkable host and hostess. When we were there, their chef was on vacation, so Blaire stood in for him. We had "the best" scrambled eggs ever and Blaire can knock out the tastiest croissant this side of the Atlantic. We visited right after Thanksgiving and the house was aglow with Christmas touches, which added to the already lovely ambiance. My family and I have stayed at B&B's all our lives, mostly in the New England states, good and not so good. I would rate our stay at 1801 with the best of the best. My wife and I booked one of Cottages on 9/19/25. This was for a romantic one night stay for our 10th Wedding Anniversary and for my wife's birthday. Unfortunately, the jet tub turned out to be a standard single-person bathtub, which was very disappointing. My wife was crushed. The staff member who checked us was empathetic and tried to help, but the other rooms were dirty and unavailable. We had no choice but to stay in the cottage, and the evening was far from romantic experience we had hoped for. The next morning, we spoke to the owner, who showed little empathy and blamed the situation on our third party booking. She mentioned they hadn't cleaned rooms since the prior weekend, despite it being Tuesday. Overall, the customer service was very poor, and the experience felt like a waste of $350. read more

My husband and I stayed at 1801 First Inn for a weekend getaway to come celebrate a friend's birthday. Our room was located at the back of the property, separate from the main building. This was nice as it offered a little bit more privacy and allowed us to come in later without disturbing other guests. The room itself was clean and very cozy and inviting. The weather while we were in Napa was a little unpredictable so I was grateful to have the option to turn on the fireplace. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine happy hour that was provided as well as the delicious breakfast in the morning. What can I not say about 1801. This place took me back to a time that felt so real. A time to when you wake up as a kid and smell granny or mom cooking bacon and biscuits . You wash your face and brush your teeth. Slip on your slippers and head downstairs to where those of whom you love all say good morning. Everyone has a cup of coffee . We're called to the table, and pops begin to say grace. Amen! Now dig in. Yes, that was my experience that 1801 provided me. Everyone provided excellent customer service. The owners were lovely, so passionate and made us feel at home. It's such an amazing inn with so many unique offerings and amenities that you don't get staying at your average hotel. This was my first visit to Napa and this B&B did not disappoint. The home, which was built in 1903, is beautiful with lots of special architectural details. We stayed in an upstairs suite with a lovely fireplace and large soaking tub. Three handmade truffles were waiting for us upon our arrival, which were delicious! Coffee, tea and fresh baked cookies are available in the dining room throughout the day. The breakfast was very tasty and there were three options to choose from each morning. The owners were extremely kind and very personable. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. The location is in walking distance to Downtown Napa and many wonderful restaurants. A great gem, with a passionate owner that's super personable. We decided to take a road trip to Napa so we can get away from our busy business and prep for next year by knocking out our budget for the upcoming year. We originally booked a different bed and breakfast, but they called with the broken soaking tub news, good thing for us the 1801 1st Inn had a room available with the accommodations we were seeking. We met the owner at check in, discovered she had a whirl wind of positive energy, and she was happy to share the history of the house while showing us our room. She shared her thoughts on local eateries and was very easy to talk with. We arrived to the sight of fresh baked cookies, hot water for tea and some fresh brewed coffee. The house has had a long history but is standing firm. 5 rooms to choose from in the main house with multiple cottages on the property. The parking was great, the location was in walking distance to shops and restaurants near by. As bed and breakfasts are known for, the breakfast theory didn't disappoint in the least bit. Having 3 different meals to choose from was a plus. Fresh juice, fruit, hot coffee and delicious meals kicked out day off right. We sat in the front dining area in a bright, very clean section of the house, with a beautiful view of the street and the historic houses in sight, we enjoyed a pleasant morning breakfast, chatting about the great night sleep we had, looking forward to powering through our business dealings. Our room was on the second floor, we didn't really hear our neighbors much, well except for someone having a bit of a cough, but it wasn't too bad. Our bed was a cozy king size bed, we had a nice fireplace at the foot of the bed that heated the room well, we love fresh air, and a cool breeze at night, between the ceiling fan, hvac unit and unique skylight windows that open wide, we easily created the climate that suits us to sleep in. The space in the room was nice, roomy and relaxing. The tub fit both of us for a nice hot morning soak, to get our old body's moving. A decent size shower was a plus as well. They provided clean flushable wipes at the toilet, this is always a plus. The housekeepers were pleasant, worked hard, but we only requested a couple of fresh hand towels. All and all, this was a great choice, I'd strongly suggest anyone trying this place out. They do have some specific requests, no one under 12, but that does make things great for adults wanting some quiet time. Absolutely amazing bed & breakfast and experience. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and the rooms were really cute and up-to-date. They all had fireplaces which I loved. Blair is the owner and he was a perfect host. So nice and conversational and he really cares about the little things that make your experience superb. For example, he has a happy hour every evening at 5 with wine and a cheese/olive spread. It was so much fun and such a surprise when we found out our first night there. I don't frequently leave reviews, but 1801 first exceeded all of our expectations. A couple friends and I traveled to Napa for a weekend get away and upon arriving on our first night were greeted with the wine and cheese happy hour. At the happy hour we mentioned we were unable to find a dinner reservation for that evening, and the owner immediately ran inside and was somehow able to snag us one! Everyone here was friendly, the breakfast provided (3 options to choose from daily,) was amazing and the location is perfect for walking to downtown restaurants/Oxbow market. To top it off, I left an item behind in the room and was promptly contacted by the owner who had the item shipped to me immediately. We spent a fantastic weekend with our friends at the 1801 First Inn. What a great place to stay! It is located only a few blocks from downtown and restaurants - a very easy walk. Lori greeted us on our first night, and showed us our rooms. She was very outgoing and made us feel right at home. Later that afternoon, Lori served us a glass of wine as she told us the history of the house and suggested things to do in Napa. The next morning, Laura greeted us for breakfast, and it was very good! Laura is funny and really made the dining experience inviting. That evening, we were lucky enough to meet the owner, Carrie, during the inn's happy hour. We all enjoyed talking to her as she is very personable. The next morning, we had another delicious breakfast made by Carrie's husband, Blair, who not only cooks well, but is also very friendly and enjoyable to talk with. I'll start off by saying this is the first place I've stayed that I felt worthy of a review. I'm extremely picky and travel very frequently, but I've never stayed anywhere that I felt was worth my post trip time to write a review. With that said, we checked in rather late and were greeted by Blair, the owner. He was so friendly and immediately offered us a glass of wine. He briefed us about the area and informed us about a wine and cheese hour on the patio. We dropped off our bags and went outside to check it out. The arrangement of food and wine were very impressive, with several cheese options...and complementary to boot! It gave us an opportunity to chat with others visiting the area and get recommendations for wineries to visit. Castello Di Amerso and Mumm were my favorites! Ok, so about 1801! Our room was very clean and seemed like someone spent a lot of time on Pinterest! There were complementary homemade truffles to snack on while looking through the tons of books and magazines about the area. Our room had a really big tub with bath salts provided and comfy bathrobes too! Both mornings we ate breakfast there, and I'm so glad we did! The chef was so talented. He was able to modify the dishes to my vegetarian needs and they give you options to choose from the night before. The owners are both simply amazing people that put their heart and soul into this place. They really take the time to make sure you're well looked after and are truly invested in making sure you have an amazing experience! I can't say enough nice things about them. I know there are a lot of options of places to stay in Napa, and the pictures and reviews can be overwhelming and confusing. The first night we met the owners at their complimentary wine and cheese hour (they poured some awesome wines). The morning breakfast which is also included was tasty! Waffles, Eggs with smoked salmon were some of them. They also have some port if you care for it in their living room area which was delicious! Our room was the Junior Suite which was very cute and charming. It's located on the 2nd floor and has a nice big soaking tub. The room was very clean but a little small. I'll start by saying that in a world where turnover is key to running a successful business, this place is super personal and absolutely amazing. Wine hour is great! So much so that we found out where they got their wine and got a case to take back home. The owners are extremely personable and cater the experience to you. Now let's talk about the chef. Whoever this man is, he made the trip for us. Never met or saw him, but I'd shake his hand if I could. Breakfast and dinner come included with the rate and let me tell you, this is five star cuisine! And the fresh baked goods are amazing. We went here in February and the only reason I'm leaving this review now is because we were just raving about it to our friends. We love this place. It's our home away from home whenever we come to Napa. From the time you arrive until the time you check out, you feel pampered and we'll-taken care of. Blair, Carrie, Felice, and company do everything within their power to make your stay as comfortable as they can with plenty of tips about the Valley to help you make decisions. Breakfast is a sumptuous affair that's gourmet every morning. I've had smoked salmon frittata, blueberry compote French toast, huevos Rancheros, and just a traditional American breakfast with bacon and eggs. There's fresh bread service...and you totally luck out if you're there for croissant day because you get to choose between butter and chocolate...or be fat like me and have both. There's always an evening reception with wine and snacks. It's nice conversation with the other guests as you share the day's activities. We've actually gotten ideas and inspiration on what to do for future trips. It's walking distance to downtown, so dinner is not too far away. We even stroll through town after dinner for fun. When you come back for the evening, there's fruit, cookies, coffee, tea, and Port available for a night cap. A great selection of DVDs is available for you to take back to your suite, too. The rooms here have been upgraded and modernized. Each suite is spacious and cozy all at the same time. Some rooms have jacuzzi tubs. We love this place, and can't imagine staying anywhere else if we don't have to. read more

By far one of the best B&B stays I've ever experienced. Starting with the location, within walking distance from all the bars and restaurants in downtown Napa. Upon arrival, we were instantly greeted warmly by Carrie the owner with a beautiful smile and 2 glasses of wine for my husband and I. We sat and chatted and instantly felt right at home. She took the time to understand our preferences and made great restaurant and winery suggestions accordingly. Even offered to make some reservations for us herself. One of the restaurants we dined in that night upon her recommendation, ZuZu, was spectacular! Probably the best dining experience on that trip. The room was gorgeous, homey and quaint. I couldn't be happier. We arrived on a Friday and were treated that evening to our own complimentary tasting and appetizers prepared by their wonderful chef. (Available every Friday) This was a great sneak preview of the superb quality of food that comes out of their kitchen. The setting was beautiful as well. Couldn't have planned for a better beginning to our trip. We were provided with a brochure to mark the options for breakfast which is included. What a delight. Gourmet meals with herbs from their garden, fresh fruit, homemade pastries, fresh juice and coffee. Everyday at 5:30 Carrie hosts a lovely happy hour with music, unlimited wine and charcuterie/cheeses at the courtyard spot where we had the tasting. A great way to socialize with the other guests and the owners. On our last day we had to get a really early start and sadly had to skip out on their awesome breakfast. I was sitting in the car waiting for my husband to drop off the keys and starving.. Only to find him coming out of their kitchen with our own individually packed breakfasts they prepared just for us! Organic yoghurt, cookies, eggs and all the goodies. I couldn't believe how sweet they are. They really go over and beyond for their guests to make their trips absolutely perfect. Stayed here for a weekend in Napa with my girlfriend and her parents, and had a WONDERFUL time! We stayed in two seperate suites upstairs and both of them were wonderful! Both suites were very clean, and every detail was covered. All of the suites have a gas fireplace and a jacuzzi. The beds were incredible, and I am not sure if it was the wine or the genuine comfort, but I slept like a baby every night. They even resupplied us with bottled water, diet coke, and coke, along with clean wine glasses every day, which can be a necessity when in Napa! We went wine tasting and came back and everything was nice, clean, and restocked. When outside of the rooms there is a great seating area by the fire place downstairs that had great reading about the surrounding area, as well as current newspapers. Of course there is also some port wine to sip on at your leasure, and a tray of homemade cookies. Perfect. If you choose to go outside, there is a wonderful covered outdoor seating area with a fountain, where you can relax and put your feet up after a long day of....well, relaxing. The location was perfect. We were able to easily walk to dinner both nights that we were there. Everything is a very short walk down the beautiful main street of Napa. A safeway is even close by for any regular needs, although everything else is covered by 1801 First. Kaylie was AMAZING!!!! What a host!!! She even helps to get reservations at wineries, make dinner suggestions and reservations, and make sure that everything is truly perfect! Her attention to detail really makes this a little piece of heaven! The food was incredible! Eventhough we were wine tasting, and traveling around to beautiful places, the breakfast was still a highlight of every day. Three great options to fit any taste, and they were deliciou!! I wish that I could come back for breakfast every day! Overall, if I could give it more than 5 stars I would. I will suggest 1801 First to EVERYONE that I can, and I wil definitely be back! We stayed here because of a deal on Jetsetter, and on the basis of the positive reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor. We stayed in Casa Dolce. Here is what we thought: The Good: - We were greeted by a friendly, personable and helpful member of staff who showed us around the communal areas including a beautiful seating area in the bay window, with a dvd cabinet which she invited us to borrow from. She showed us to our room (outside the main building) and came back with champagne. We were impressed by her friendliness and eagerness to ensure we were comfortable. She had kindly helped us with recommending and making dinner reservations prior to our visit; we chose Celadon which was excellent. - The room was very cozy with a fireplace and antique furniture. - The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the linens of very high quality. - Wine and cheese hour is a nice touch. - Location was handy for downtown Napa. The Bad: - Really have to disagree with the reviewer who said the decor was not outdated: unless your preference is for dusky pink/dark orange, with floral frieze around the ceiling, this room is not elegantly stylish as the website says. Casa Dolce would be more "dolce" if brought in line with the rest of the hotel, which was beautifully decorated in cool white, sage and pale yellow. - The breakfast is great, but why have two very similar dishes (omelette/frittata) two days running? I was hoping to try the lemon ricotta pancakes... maybe if there is a next time we'll be lucky! The Ugly: - With its central location, you would expect a little traffic noise - and we did hear the cars and trucks go by during rush hour - no biggie. However, on both mornings we were woken well before breakfast by 1. the inhabitant of the room next door marked "private" moving about - running water, walking around with shoes on... this began at 5.30am so we were not very pleased and 2. the couple next door, um, enjoying themselves vocally! Should have worn earplugs! Maybe because we were enjoying a promotion we were given the least stylish room 1801 had to offer. She offered lots of recommendations on great restaurants, tasting passes to wineries, and local tips. Suite 3: Upstairs and overlooking the street, this is a gorgeous room with oversized tub, sitting area, fireplace, big-screen TV, and more. The decor is befitting the style of the inn - cozy, classic, tasteful. First-class amenities in the bathroom plus two luxurous robes top it off. Evening wine/cheese reception: On the first night we were hosted by the owner who was an absolutely joy to talk with. The food and wine served were carefully selected by the staff and all extremely tasty. This is the perfect way to start the evening before heading out for dinner. Breakfast: 5-star dining by a private chef. Trust me on this, this is better than you'll find at many luxury resorts around the world (I've been to several). No detail is left out and the service is warm, friendly, and seamless. Our wait for breakfast on our first day was...0 minutes! It was ready upon arrival! Timing for day 2 as about 2-3 minutes. Llike I said - perfection! Staff: We met with Felice and Blair. Both were amazingly helpful at every point. My mother and I stayed at the First Luxury Inn for three nights in March. I live in Napa and always drive passed by this inn. We got a discounted rate posted online. We booked the garden room but when we got there, the owner, Blaire, showed us all the rooms available and let us choose. All the rooms were amazingly nice and clean. The smell was wonderful too :) The beds were very comfortable. They gave you free unlimited soft drinks in the refrigerator. They let us choose our own breakfast that was wonderfully prepared by a private chef every morning (better than some of the restaurants in Napa). We love the wine and cheese session everyday at 5.30 pm. Got to chat with the other guests in the hotel, and the host was so nice and genuine. The location of this inn is very good... a short walk to all the restaurants downtown. You can hear very slight road noise at night if you stay at the garden suite, but its not bad at all. If you tell the host, they will make suggestions and reservations for the restaurants for you. The most surprising thing for staying here was that when we left we got a call from the owner's wife that we may have left a jacket there. When we went back to the hotel, we found out that the jacket was not ours. It was not a big deal to us. They sincerely apologized, and the next day I got a voice message saying that they decided to refund the money back to us for $150. I thought that was incredible thoughtful of them. Rooms were beautiful, and I loved the chocolate truffles in the room upon arrival. Wine and cheese happy hour in the garden was great. Great local wines, yummy snacks and laid back atmosphere. Beautiful way to spend an afternoon. Easy walk into town and great customer service. One day our bike tour was unexpectedly cancelled, and the staff did their best to make sure we had alternatives- even gave us some coupons for another wine tasting! Breakfast in the morning- eh. My pancakes and french toast were good, and the coffee was great. However, the eggs were so boring. Other than the bland breakfast, I'd definitely recommend this lovely B&B. read more

We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend and it couldn't have been more perfect. The owners are lovely, the food was just enough to get our day going, and we were perfect walking distance to downtown Napa. Highly recommend and will be back again! Booker beware - read the fine print on cancellation fee before booking! Back in August 2019, we booked two rooms at the Inn for February 2020 through Expedia. But due to scheduling conflict, we have to cancel the trip down to Napa. Well, to our surprise there is a cancellation fee of $94 per room, even though the cancellation is made 2 months before the planned stay. It appears this B&B's policy is to charge to you 10% fee (of the entire stay) for any cancellation or change made after the initial booking. If the cancellation or change is made within 2 weeks of the reservation date, the B&B will charge you for one night. If you're into small boutique B&B and don't plan to have any changes/cancellation, this B&B is a good place to stay in Napa. Though, just right down the block, Archer Hotel Napa would be a better choice in term of location, price and Napa experience. And Archer has a much more reasonable cancellation and change term! Conflict and unplanned stuff happen, we do understand that the establishment must charge a fee to recoup the loss of revenue if it's made within a week or two. But a change made two (2) months in advance requires 10% change fee just seems WRONG. Ultimately, Booker beware. Only book here if you absolutely know you have no future changes. read more

We had such an amazing stay. We were in the Casa Dulce from 4/09-4/13. When we arrived on Friday night, the inn was doing a tasting with Jessup's (which I HIGHLY recommend visiting in Yountville). We got there about 15 min late for the tasting so instead of having us check in, the inn keeper told us to take a seat and we could do it after. What a nice treat after driving from San Francisco. Our room was wonderful. I know some of the trip advisor posts say they are outdated and specifically the Casa Dulce was, but they are dead wrong. When we arrived the champagne I ordered with strawberries were waiting along with amazing truffles. Each evening you get a door tag asking what you want to eat for breakfast. Each meal was a delight, thought the lemon ricotta pancakes were my favorite. We were even assisted with dinner reservations one night, and since we had everything else planned, we didn't need any help but I am sure they would have assisted more. Also, ask if they have any passes for vineyards you are planning on going. The woman on the weekend didn't offer any but on Monday we mentioned where we were going and the weekday innkeeper gave us a coupon to taste for free. If we go back to Napa, we will definitely be staying here. read more

This has got to be the greatest place to stay in Napa. Perfect location, walking distance to all of my favorite restaurants in downtown. Ive never stayed in the house, always stayed in one of the cottages because we prefer the privacy so my review is only based on the cottages. My favorite cottage is the first one on the right, it has a fireplace that adjoins the bedroom and the bathtub. I could live in this cottage and joyfully eat the beautiful breakfast that they prepare for you here. Just thinking about it right now is making me desperately want to go back!! We have gotten massages in our cottages there that were amazing. OMG and the cookies they have out all the time are addictive. I cant say a bad thing about this place. Ive stayed elsewhere in Napa when they were fully booked and wished I was at 1801 First the whole time. read more

We stayed in the La Casa Dolce and it was such a lovely cottage. Breakfast was superb, the staff was knowledgeable and helpful and we loved the evening wine and cheese social hour. Ps... Our bed was so comfortable! It was like sleeping on clouds. We wanted to take the comforter and sheets home with us! Loved that we were walking distance to downtown Napa. My husband and I stayed here for a little getaway, we absolutely loved our experience. Breakfast was delicious - every day they had one specialty that changed, the other two meals were constant the whole time. I recommend trying the special dish the chef creates, it was our favorite. We stayed in "La Casa Dolce" cottage. It was bright and refreshing with a nice mix of modern amenities and vintage style. The location is walking distance to restaurants downtown. Wine hour (1730-1830) is a must! We talked with the staff members and we instantly loved all of them. They are so welcoming and kind (and funny). First let me say what won me over initially to book this Bed and Breakfast was Carrie the owner, I talked to her on the phone and immediately felt she cared about her guess. She guided us through looking at the pictures on line and explained that the Bed and Breakfast was being remolded and not all the new pictures were up yet. She offered to also help us with transportation and going to wine tours. Walking up to this beautiful house I was thinking I hope this is as amazing on the inside as it is on the outside. My husband and I have stayed at a few Bed and Breakfasts before and I must say 1801 First is the best one we have ever stayed at. If your looking for a romantic place to stay don't look any further. The pictures on line don't do this place justice. It is more romantic in person and the feel the in-keepers give you adds to the ambiance of its romantic charm. When we arrived we were met by one of the inn keepers, Laura. She immediately offered us a glass of wine. Laura took me up to the room while my brother and husband unloaded the luggage from the car. She explained all the amenities of the room. There was complimentary chocolate, water and soda. There was also wine in the room that you can purchased. I checked the wine out later with my wine app and it was the exact price you would pay any place else, so no hidden cost. Each day you get a choice from 3 different breakfast. At breakfast you can self-serve yourself coffee, fresh orange juice and I think the other was tea (we didn't have any so not sure). We sat in the bay windows and had a marvelous view of the street as the sun shined through the windows. The feeling of warmth through the windows, the fresh smell of coffee and a delicious breakfast cooking was intoxicating. I would of just been content sitting there having a cup of coffee and holding my husband's hand. I felt so happy there, but there was more to come. The breakfast are AMAZING!! First you are served pastries (they taste delicious). Next fresh fruit is brought out that has a light syrup on it. I can't remember all of them except the salted caramel. Another one I think was lemon syrup, but I'm not sure; however, it was my favorite. At first we thought that our breakfast, which was suppose to be eggs was messed up, but no, this was just the appetizers to breakfast. The breakfast we ordered came out next. We ordered the scramble eggs, bacon and potatoes, which were delicious.One of the days my husband had the omelette, which he truly delighted in eating. I must say my husband cooks great eggs, but he even kept saying he wondered how the chef made the eggs so amazing. On our first night we went to the wine hour, which is something we didn't even think we would originally do. Since we had enough time the first night we thought we might as well go. We are so pleased we went. We enjoyed it so much we went every night we were there. The innkeeper would have red or white wine, a cheese board with different meats, nuts, olives, etc. Sitting and having a glass of wine while talking to the innkeeper or other couples was a real highlight. Don't skip this part. It is a beautiful setting. Take a moment to look at the details around you. Sometimes I would sit back and listen to the water trickling from the fountain near us or look at the flowers placed carefully on the table. The owners know how to add details. We met Blair one of the owners one night and he was very pleasant to talk to. We sat with Laura two nights and I must say she really knows how to make sure every guest feels welcome during the wine hour. I loved talking to her. There was another innkeeper and I regretfully forgot her name, but must say she was pleasant and charming at two of our breakfast and when we were leaving she offered to take our picture in front of the inn, which is a beautiful moment captured in time. The room was beautiful. I loved the books that are left in the room for someone to read. I actually purchased the book "Romantic Napa Valley." I would suggest if your on a romantic get away take a moment and read the poem in this book. It really is quite sensual. The book is also full a great romantic places to visit in Napa Valley. It cost $20 if you would like a copy to take home and I feel it is well worth the purchase. Look through the larger book and read about places to visit. In our room it was beige in color. If it would of been colder we would of turned on the fire place and turned the chairs around while reading. I really noticed the details in our room the old books and the old fashion sand timer placed carefully by the window to the beautiful lines on the comfortable bed. Our bathroom was amazing. The bathtub was huge and the there was a separate glass shower. The carefully placed flowers near the tub, the warm robes, the amazing bath toiletries (I loved the bath salts) all added to the charm. 1801 First is a true romantic get away! read more
