My fiancé, brother, sister-in-law and I went here on New Years Eve for dinner. We expected it to be packed due to the holiday and were fine with waiting. This experience was the worst we've ever had there. We sat down and waited for about 15-20 minutes for our waitress to take our drink order. She was very unpleasant, not very nice and complained how long she's been working there. After we placed our drinks & food order it took over 45 minutes to get our appetizers. Also, we were told we were only allowed to have 1 alcoholic beverage and we were cut off.. pretty ridiculous since we haven't had any alcohol the whole night. When the food came out our waitress realized she forgot to place the order for my fiancé's food. Therefore she had nothing to eat for dinner.. On top of her not receiving her food, my order was incorrect (wings) and they forgot the sides for my brother's food and also messed up his order. I completely understand that mistakes happen, but my issue is that our waitress was nasty and then proceeded to AVOID our table. We had no drinks (not even water) and no/incorrect food. The icing on the cake was they sat us next to the "DJ" table which he proceeded to blare music during primetime dinner hours (7pm). We couldn't even hear each other talk let alone have a conversation across the table. Also, the table in front of us had a NEWBORN BABY that was trying to rest while their family had dinner (VERY RUDE). I politely asked the DJ to turn down the music and redirect his speaker away from our table which he declined. I was confused why we need to blare music during primetime dinner hour and not when the younger crowd comes circling in at night. After this terrible experience we had, we received our bill 2 hours later after we sat down and not only was it expensive there was no discount/compensation for the mistakes our waitress made. Not even the manager came to check on our table or apologize for this inconvenience. The food is subpar and not even worth the cost in our opinion. To be determined. Have been a couple of times. The flatbreads aren't available until after 4 so don't waste your time even though they don't have that stated on the menu. Fish sandwich was killer! Walleye are you kidding me? Crispy tender and delicious. Needs a bigger side of sauce but that's okay hope you bring it back. sandwiches are okay but lacking bulk for the price. This place is awesome! We went in for lunch and it was pretty busy, but no wait. The service was perfect and the food was really good. We got a classic burger and the Cuban sandwich. The fries were hot and fresh. The prices also seemed very fair. I definitely would've paid a few bucks more. The only thing I'm wondering about is parking. There wasn't a single spot open when we left. I'm curious as to where people park on a busy night. The restaurant had an empty bar and about half of the tables were full. I can't imagine the parking situation is very good on a busy night. Update: We went a second time and got the chicken Caesar salad and Italian grinder. Both were incredible. read more

We have been here twice and it may be our last visit. First let me tell the positives. Both my meal and my wife's meal were very good on both occasions. The wait staff was excellent on both occasions the food and drinks were reasonably price. Now for the negative. The music was really loud and the concrete floors caused the bass to reverberate throughout. It is nice to have a conversation during a meal, which was virtually impossible. Patrons at all the tables had to increase their tones to overcome the music and its base. This caused an exponential increase in the noise level. If I wanted a rock concert I would have bought tickets to one. My ears rang as if I was at one, after leaving the restaurant. They pre-cook their chicken. This was confirmed by a former cook and by the manager on duty when I asked about it. Don't believe me, look at the other reviews that say the same thing... "chicken was boiled and left waiting for you to order it". Then, when you call them out on their facebook page, they block you from the page instead of fixing the problem. Second time here for lunch. Great atmosphere! Food was great. I got the Pittsburgh salad with salmon. I ordered the salmon medium-rare, and that's exactly how it came out. Their house champagne vinaigrette is delicious! We sat at the bar, and the service was great. The most arrogant and condescending staff I have ever experienced. They treat you like it's an inconvenience to serve you. When you complain, you are just met with rudeness and disrespect. Second visit to the establishment. Tuesday 6:30pm. Ordered a cosmopolitan at bar after an seeing a mostly empty restaurant and being told it was a 20 minute wait. We ordered top shelf and the cosmopolitan was awful. The previous visit it was very good. No consistency between bar tenders. Got seated at our table after the wait and was told by the waitress they had no Thai sauce for the shrimp appetizer. Then it got worse. They were out of salmon, baked potatoes, and she kept going on how there truck did not deliver. I got up and and went to Tacos and Tequila. They had food and consistent drinks! Service was not the best. The hostess kept telling us she would seat us, but every 10 mins she came out and told us another 10-15 mins. So the wait ended up being 30-45 mins. she then began to say our table was ready, but the server already had a big party table so it would take a little bit. From a friend. I have NEVER in my life been in a situation like I was today at The Standard in Bridgewater. My parents are in town for their couple day visit and we decided to go there to eat lunch. My parents are retired military and one is partially disabled and one is fully disabled. They have properly registered service animal with a vest and paperwork, etc. After showing the paperwork and clearing it with three other servers, we were seated and ordered drinks. The server came back to us and asked if we could move outside. We said no. It's 85 degrees, I had Autumn with me, and my mom has MAJOR lungs issues with PA weather (that's why they can only stay a couple days now). THEY ASKED US TO LEAVE then. I made my parents wait outside and asked for a manager. He was unbelievably RUDE and wouldn't even look at the paperwork and said he didn't care about the law because it's the rules there. I never leave bad reviews because I own a business. I can really hurt someone's business. This is different. I could feel the emotion in me. He gave ZERO cares and told us to call the police then. our group of three came in yesterday for Mother's Day and had to wait an abhorrent amount of time. we were expecting some kind of wait with it being a holiday, so we called ahead and had a wait of 30 minutes, which was fine. when we arrived we were seated and placed our orders, and after our drinks showed up we had to wait a total of an hour and a half for our food. we all had very simple orders as well, and the room was half empty with multiple tables cleared and clean. so the amount of time the food took to come out wasn't justifiable. we had an order of 6 wings, a grilled chicken sandwich plain with fries, and an order of chicken alfredo. all very simple meals that shouldn't take any more than 20-30 minutes. the saving grace was our server, i regret not getting her name. but she apologized profusely and offered to buy us a desert for the amount of time that it took for us to get our food, but fearing that that would also take a long time for us to receive, we declined and asked her to just take the price of the drinks off the bill instead, which was two beers and a martini. the location and atmosphere are also very nice, and the food, while expensive, was better than average quality. for this one particular experience i wouldn't recommend it, their kitchen doesn't seem to have their ticket times refined. but maybe my mind will change when i come back on a different day, i just don't think that'll be any time soon. read more

I don't' usually write reviews like this, but last night was exceptional! I met 2 friends at the Standard for dinner and drinks. Our food was delicious, and came out so fast. We had 3 clean plates when we were done! Our waitress was amazing! She was attentive and answered any questions that we had about the menu. There was trivia going on while we were there, but because it was on the other side it didn't bother us at all. The dj also played great music as all of that was going on. Let's start with a few positives to be fair. The decor of The Standard is classy, and when the weather is nice, the "open air" garage doors will be great, as customers enjoy the muddy river. The servers have been friendly, and the background music isn't too loud, so patrons don't have to shout over it. The negatives: The food is average, and the price is average to above average. However, the steak prices are too high. There is a 4 % surcharge on the bill, if diners use a credit card. Why? The best restaurants in the area don't pass the credit card charge onto customers. That money should go to servers in their tips. Drink wine? Choose something else! Beaver Countians are used to "Beaver County pours," and the meager pour is a joke for the exorbitant price. We have eaten there 5 times --2 times for lunch and 3 times for dinner to give the business a fair assessment, but it's not going to be our first choice. read more

Our third time there and they changed the menu - only 3 entrees on the menu and had no specials - 30 minutes we waited for a chicken and steak salad. The got rid of there two best dishes - the pork chop and the steak dinner -WTF they weren't even half full so no excuse for waiting 30 min - my chicken was to be grilled - I can tell you it wasn't - it was boiled and had no flavor - if it wasn't for starving I would have sent it back and left. The GM tried to say because the chicken is cooked on a flat top there would be no brown crust on it - WRONG answer I cook in a flat top all the time and the chicken gets browned on the outside. We were here Friday, September 20th. It's a really cool atmosphere, but the service was TERRIBLE! Anytime we asked for something, we waited a long time and the wait for our food was at least an hour. There were other patrons that came and went before we got our food. When we did get our food it wasn't prepared to our request. The food was sent back and everyone at our table was done eating before my daughters food came back out. We had to go and inquire on what was taking so long for our food before we received it and we also had to go and ask what was taking so long for my daughter's food. We asked for a manager who was essentially useless. I told him our food needed to be discounted because of everything that happened and we received 20% off. The food is fine, quickly delivered, but salty. The staff has always been very nice and attentive the couple times we have been here. But beware, this place seems to want to think they are the Beaver Co club for aging white folks. Tonight we were treated to a DJ who blasted the most obnoxious music through his speaker setup, music that is perfect for a high school prom or end of a wedding reception (those annoying step songs) but obnoxious for any restaurant where people might like to have a conversation. It was so loud I could hear it thumping in my chest and had to shout at the server, and we were at the opposite end of the restaurant. Of course nobody was dancing. Even some of the staff indicated they weren't happy with the DJ, one saying when they bring in this music it "drives everyone away". To the owners: you aren't gonna make this restaurant into the next the Beaver Co club, just don't try. It's cool to have a sports bar, but this was just tacky and a miss. read more

We decided at the last minute to try this place . We had maybe a 30 minute wait on a Saturday around 4:30. We were surprised it was so busy at this time. Parking is limited and it was amusing watching people laying wait for a place to park . The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. I ordered a strawberry crush drink and I'm not sure if there was suppose to be alcohol in it or not - I tasted none but it's listed as a cocktail and for $8 I would have thought it was an alcoholic beverage. I had the standard burger and my husband had the Italian grinder. We both enjoyed our sandwiches. We also had the pretzel sticks which I didn't think I'd like the cinnamon butter but it gets two thumbs up . It would have been five stars if the drink actually had alcohol in it- we will definitely be eating here again - just not ordering any cocktails. read more
