Ordered lunch for my staff today and we all loved it. I had the blue cheese burger and it really is everything I love in a burger. Medium cooked patty, bleu cheese, bacon, arugula, grilled onions, bbq sauce, all in soft (but toasted) brioche buns. I took some bites cold and I already knew I loved it. Enjoyed the fries as well. This isn't the hottest but it is a great alternative to the standard McDonalds. I like having onions in my hamburgers and also the savory sweetness of fresh cooking that is better than reheating. McDonalds is still in my heart tough for being on the on as a traveling worker most of my time. quick service and delicious food. everything came out quickly with no issue at all. we were checked on periodically as well which is wonderful for a fast food styled restaurant. i love this location because parking is validated -- you can park in the peking garage for the playhouse plaza and they will validate 75 minutes for you! just ask after you order. the staff are sooo friendly too and this is always my first choice when we want fast food but at a higher quality than you'd get at most places. read more

With a huge menu, it was hard to decide. We got a Cobb chop salad and an onion stack burger with a side of onion rings. The service was fast and friendly. I've explored many burger places and this one might be my favorite in Pasadena. You can create your own burger and customize how you like. I like mine well done and the best part is you can order straight from the app and have it ready for pickup. Parking is tricky but they do have curbside pickup which is right in front of the entrance. It doesn't seem like that's where the curbside pickup is since you just park in the middle of the street and hope you don't cause traffic but that's where it is! To start the only reason I was here was because I had credits on the app from when they refunded my money after a terrible experience at another location. Walked in and let them know that when my order was ready I'd eat in. After about 20 minutes in an uncrowded restaurant they finally noticed that my order was sitting in a bag on the counter. I was going to the Pasadena Playhouse and we were gonna have dinner in the area. Zach, the manager from The Stand reached out to me and we decided to give The Stand another try. We like their food and I appreciate small businesses and small business owners who care about their customers and try to make it right. I opted for a Chicken sandwich this time around, wanted something lighter. I also wanted to try something different but burgers here (they also serve great looking salads that I'll try at some point). The Cilantro Lime Chicken sandwich fit the bill for me, marinated lime grilled chicken, arugula, red onions, fresh avocado on a brioche bun, fresh, lighter than a burger but filling. My husband wanted to try one of their creations burger wise, so he went for the Onion Stack with bacon, crispy onion strings, cheddar cheese. He loved the hickory sauce and everything about that burger! I tried it and it was very flavorful! We went back to our first love, shared a small portion of their onion rings and we were happy to do so. Some of the best onion rings I had in California, nice batter, they don't come apart, not as good as the ones from Jane's in Santa Barbara, but they come in 2nd! They didn't have my favorite beer that day, the Saber Toothed Squirrel, so we tried the Blonde Ale from Golden Road since we like their beers. Solid, crisp beer and $1 cheaper. The customer service rep. who overcharged me apologized, so that's nice when people try to improve their service. I've been to this place probably 5 times now just for the salads! Their menu is pretty pricey when it comes to their sandwiches but their salads are a good deal. It's about $13 for a bowl that can feed 2. I have gotten the southwest chicken salad which is a shredded bbq chicken salad and it's so good. Their Chinese chicken salad is also very good but I suggest getting the dressing on the side, not mixed in. If it's mixed in then sometimes it's too salty/sweet. read more

This review goes specifically for the service on 5/12/24 between 5-6Pm for an online order placed. We ordered a falafel wrap for pickup and when came to pick it up we were told there was no falafel wrap. When I reviewed the order the man behind the register gave me an attitude. i had to wait longer in line and when my order was finally ready they just watched me stand me and wait rather than taking the initiative of letting me know that my order was ready. This place has the best homemade veggie burger that I've tried in my recent veggie burger binge (if you modify the standard veggie bliss). The veggie bliss is too spicy by default for me to taste anything, which is what happened the first time I got this burger. However, I was determined to see what the burger actually tasted like and went back to try again with some substitutions. The cashier suggested swapping out the pickled red onion and the pepper jack cheese, so I got grilled onions and cheddar cheese instead. It was so much better and I could taste everything! The burger still has a tiny kick, but it's very manageable. I'm glad I gave the burger another shot because the burger turned out to be very savory. I especially liked the guacamole and crispy onion strings, which I don't see often on veggie burgers and added even more flavor to the burger. Overall, incredible burger, would get again. read more

I haven't been to the stand in a few years because I had moved away. Now that I'm back in Pasadena I looked up places to get a salad. So the Stand came up and I decided to go. You would think a burger joint wouldn't know what to do with a salad. APL WRONG. I ordered the Chinese chicken salad and I am over the moon impressed with the execution. Everything about this salad screamed goodness. Out of all the reviews I've left this has gotta be the most necessary. If you're on the fence about salads or the stand, I highly recommend you take the plunge. I promise you won't be disappointed. They're always very hesitant to give ranch/bbq/burger sauce. Sauce levels are always under the amount requested. You go up to the counter and ask for more sauce and they say, "I already gave you ranch. Do you need more?" We have like 3 meals that could use some ranch and you have us 1 ranch. I ordered the Ultimate Egg burger ($10.95) which was just a messy delight. The burger was so juicy that I didn't really want to put it back down to get even messier. I enjoyed the bacon and the pickled onions added a nice crunch to cut through the burger. I didn't know there were jalapeños in the burger but they added a nice crunchy spicy surprise. The fries alone are worth coming for. They have so much flavor by themselves and the burger sauce adds onto that flavor with its thousand island base. It's like the big mac sauce. They have a bunch of other sauces that you could pick from and I'm sure they're all good. I ordered the small ($3.25) but you can get a large ($6) for sharing or try some of their other offerings like sweet potato fries, fire fries, or chili fries. Recently had lunch at The Stand in Pasadena. You order as you enter and the food is brought to your table. You might want to go online and review the menu in advance so you're not standing there holding up the line. They have a great lunch menu: burgers, sandwiches, salads, wraps, hot dogs, etc. We had the BBQ Brisket sandwich (served on a pretzel bun), Mac N Cheese, Short Rib Grilled Cheese sandwich (on parmesan crusted sourdough) and the Grilled Chicken Club (served on a brioche bun). Fries aren't included with the sandwiches so we had one order of fries and it was enough for two people, unless of course you don't like to share. Drinks are self serve with a hella lot of options.
