Don't be put off by the strip mall location...easy parking right in front! True gastropub and taproom in the making: lots of great craft beer choices, including Belching Beaver and seriously great, hearty hot sandwiches! Look for the Cheese Steak and Buffalo Chicken. 12" is only $3 more than the 6," so find someone to share with! I'm a full-sized guy and the 6" is just fine for me. Jalapeno Bacon Poppers were pretty good. Kids eat free on Saturday, at least when I went. About four kids meal choices to choose from. We went with Little Stacks. Sweet staff, beautiful bathrooms (seriously!) Only downsides are no real table service and too many TVs. I'd prefer more "music forward." read more

Came here for lunch with high hopes, but left totally disappointed. The restaurant itself is like a bar that serves sandwiches and salads. I ordered the Adult Grilled Cheese Sandwich and the Original Grilled Cheesesteak Sandwich To-Go. I was amused at how long it took them to make it. It literally took them 35mins to make the sandwiches! I had to tell the cashier that I was in a rush in order to have my sandwich to come out quicker. However on top of all that when I came back to the office to eat, the Grilled Cheese was a soggy mess. The bread itself was not crispy but oozing with grease. Both my co-workers and I could not finish it. The Grilled Cheesesteak was better. It wasn't great but much better than the Grilled Cheese. I liked how it was stacked (given the name) with meat and toppings. As for management, the kitchen needs to work on their speed and efficiency. The food needs to be double and triple checked before being served. If I'm going to be spending close to $10 for a sandwich and have to wait 35mins for it, the food should be REALLY GOOD. If you have an hour for lunch before you have to get back to work, I would not recommend this place. read more

Stackz has been on my to do list for a while and when my wife searched for a Cheese steak sandwich, we were on our way! It's in a small older strip mall near an industrial area, but don't let that fool you! Inside is new with a Steampunk decor, dinning area and bar. They have WiFi, purse hooks and phone charging outlets. They even had charging cords if you forgot yours! Wow, super impressed already! Sandwiches are tasty and a good selection of beers! I like the small menu so they can really focus on properly cooking those few items. I did like their philly and their pastrami is good. Their onion rings are really nice as well. This was my first time here with my boyfriend, food looked good on Yelp we decided to stop and try it . We walked in and we're not greeted. Just seen a lot of people sitting so we figured just pick a table and sit down wait for someone to come give us the run down. We sat for about 5 min looking at the menu on Yelp watching the waitresses walk back and fourth past us expecting us to know what to do next. After she realized this was our first time she came by with the menus that are placed about 5 ft from the door that look like Togo menus. She then said "when you guys come in you take a menu and order at the bar" then walked off. No customer service skills at all. No hi how are you? have u been here before, nope nothing. Her name was Kate yes with the pink bandana. Now to the food. Everything looks amazing tastes really good. The bacon jalapeños we're really good. I had the pastrami sandwich with macaroni salad and he had the E's steak sandwhich with fries it was good and when you start eating more and more it's kinda salty. Other than that it was good. I believe that if you have Food and Beer on the menu, make sure you give the food the same respect and attention for quality as you do when selecting your beverages. Came here for lunch because my boyfriend had a business meeting in the area. The 3 star rating is strictly for the stellar service we received (because I couldn't bear to give the ladies working today around noon anything less than 3 stars). Boyfriend bit into his sandwich and immediately said "it's a bit salty". I was still busy trying out my potato salad, which I liked, but felt like it was missing something. I bit into my sriracha sandwich and immediately said "there's no way you could handle this" (I'm a spice lover and he can't even handle hot Cheetos). I generally eat sriracha like its ketchup and even I have to admit there was a definite kick to it. Took another bite of just the meat (which had fell out of my sandwich) and told my boyfriend, "you're right....salty." Throughout the time we were there, they were checking up on us, asking how things were, making small talk (and we weren't the only ones there). I would like to start this off by stating that Stackz shows the power of Yelp as this was the epitome of a mom and pop establishment, but (with the the exception of Philadelphia) it blew all west coast cheesesteaks out of the water! The place itself is tucked away in a tiny strip mall away from the hustle and bustle of Rancho's blossoming socialites and had it not been for the pictures of the business from the photo gallery it may have been more of a challenge to find as even the gps system got a bit screwy towards the end. All I can say is that the picture doesn't do the meal justice, but amen to the cheese overload and even the Sriracha part of the cheesesteak was not overpowering to the point where I needed the fire department to extinguish my taste buds! The portion itself was well worth the value and is massive. It's certainly a shareable item or if you try to impress the wife like I did you pound it out in one sitting like a champion. The bread was surprisingly soft, but doesn't get mushy holding in all the beefy goodness and Sriracha. I expected to be immersed in sauced up bread, but that was never the case. The meat itself was tender and contained no gristle and it was just seasoned with enough pop to make even the East Coast through up a W for the Westside! Being stuck by the Ontatio Convention Center/Airport with not a lot of great food choices...I looked up Stackz and decided to venture out and give it a try. It's in a weird small strip mall area but the place was somewhat crowded, football was on, and saw several beers on tap. Works for me! My order: Sriracha Cheese Steak. $6.99 for a small...which was more than enough for one person. $2.79 for potato salad side. The potato salad was good. It had bacon in it and good overall flavor...the side was almost enough for 2 people. The cheese steak had a lot of meat and not enough toppings. It came with onions & bell peppers (I also added shredded lettuce) but didn't see hardly any in my sandwich. What I didn't know was that the meat itself was cooked in the sriracha sauce. This made it more spicy and a bit more greasy than I would have liked. Needless to say I was sick to my stomach not but an hour later. 25oz beers...do yourself a favor and ASK which ones are priced as "special". Their menu boasts $5.50 for domestic and $6.50 for imported...but doesn't say what beers those may be. Then there is "special" pricing for other beers on tap. Little did I know my beer would end up costing me $9. For two sandwiches with sides and two 25oz beers the bill was nearly $50 with tip. Way too expensive for a "quick lunch" in my opinion. Not knowing the beers would cost so much didn't help. read more

This was a lucky Yelp find!! I was in the area and was looking for a new place to try...had I driven by it (like I have countless times before) I would not have stopped in. But thanks to the magic of Yelp and my fellow yelpers, I was persuaded to come. Here are the pros: I had the E's Steak sandwich and it was simply perfect. The place has a cool vibe to it. (Modern industrial decor) The service was excellent. It's very popular for lunch. Cons: Parking is limited. Macaroni salad had too much red onion. Long lunch lines. What keeps me coming back to Stackz you ask? How about the steady rotation of craft beer on tap. Perhaps it is the really good food they serve up. Maybe it's the atmosphere (which is laid back, with a sports game always on the televisions and some background music playing). The friendly service? Chalkboard wall near the restrooms? Yes, to all of the above. I typically stop in to Stackz after a game of kickball with my kickball group on Wednesday or Thursday nights. Even though Stackz closes at 9:00 p.m. and we roll in around 8:15 p.m., they always stay open for us and, most importantly, serve us beer AND food (yup, none of that "sorry, kitchen is closed an hour before closing" stuff here). As stated, they steadily rotate craft beer taps here. Not only do they carry more popular craft beers (Stone, Golden Road), they also carry local breweries (like Hamilton Family). The bartender is always willing to give you a small sample of a beer if you aren't sure you'll like it. How great is that? The food is really, REALLY good here. My all time favorite is the Original Cheesesteak. LOADS of beef mixed with bell peppers, onions and garlic topped with provolone cheese on a french roll with a perfect spread of mayo. This sandwich comes in 6" and 12" form. This sandwich is so PACKED with beef that if you can eat the 12" all by yourself, I think it would qualify you for one of those restaurant style eating contests where your photo goes on a wall. I'm a big dude, and the 6" fills me up (but don't let that stop YOU from grubbing this monstrous sandwich). I've also had the sriracha steak fries as well as the bacon cheese fries. You can't go wrong with either (though the steak fries are obviously more filling, and perfectly spicy). The jalapeno bacon poppers are also....ridiculously....good. You'll feel ashamed for eating the entire skewer they serve you (about 8 pieces), but you won't wanna leave any on the plate either. I'll spare you a review of the onion rings and buffalo chicken ranch sandwich (which I've also tried from here), cuz you should already know by this part in the review that I'm gonna say each are just as awesome as everything else mentioned in this review. Also...every Thursday night is "Pint Night" here. This means you buy a pint of whatever beer is promoted that night, and you keep the pint glass with that brewery's emblem on it!!! read more

This popped up on yelp as a place to try since its right up the street from work. I ordered the cheesesteak and my coworker ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. The cheesesteak want really what i was expecting dice I've had the real ones in philly. It to me had more of a ruben texture type of meat. It still was very tasty so don't be shocked if you are expecting a different texture of meat. The roll was nice and soft not crusty with the cheese melted over. The place seemed a little packed due to their happy hour that we just missed (2 dollar domestics and half off fries and onion rings), so we decided to get the order to go!We went ahead and ordered the Sriracha Cheese Steak [$6.49] , Beef Dip sandwiches [$6.49] (both small) and the Home Made Poppers [$3.99]. THE HOME MADE POPPERS..... Soft jalapeños filled with a generous amount of ooey gooey cheese wrapped in crispy yet perfectly cooked bacon..... They tasted fresh and hot and were my favorite part of the meal. ( I ate them on the car ride home....) The Sriracha Cheese Steak was perfectly spicy with a fusion twist! The meat was tender with a bit of texture; beautifully combined with what seemed to be a mixture bell peppers and onions. And surprisingly the bread was not soggy, even after the drive back home! The Beef Dip was disappointing in comparison to the Sriracha Cheese Steak, but I would consider it more of a simple, classic sandwich. 3 minutes away from my work. See this on yelp, had to try the srirachi cheese steak. Got to the restaurant, ordered, went to the bathroom, came out, order was ready. The sriracha cheese steak is pretty much their Philly cheese steak with sriracha on it. Overall, it was pretty good. It was freshly made, with delicious melted cheese all over the sandwich. It had the classic ingredients of a Philly cheese steak, with of course the thinly sliced meat, bell peppers, onions, and cheese. By default the sandwich you order comes out as a 6 inch sub, at the price of around $9 for my srirachs cheese steak. You can make it a combo with fries and a drink for 3 dollars more, or turn it into a 12 inch for 3 dollars more also. The price itself for just the 6 inch is definitely on the pricier side for a sub sandwich. I would recommend just doubling that for 3 dollars more. Bottom line is that the sandwiches are good, definitely on the pricier side, but I will be back. read more
