Not a good place for eyelash extensions. Dianna overuses glue and, as a result, my eyelashes stuck together and fell out in clumps. She said that the overlapping was necessary to cover the bald spots but those gaps were because of her sloppy work! The Xtreme lashes she uses are great; her technique is not. I had to use Latisse to grow my own lashes back. I've had lash extensions for the past 4 years and have tried 6 aestheticians in different cities - Dianna is by far the worst. When I brought the problem to her attention (along with the fallen clumps of lashes I had collected: 3-4 of them stuck together), she suggested that I learn how to take care of my lashes or suggested that I was using different skin care products. No and no. I never had bald spots before her and haven't since her. To make matters worse, her solution was to charge me half price for the "touch up" session to fix the problem. I wouldn't go back and you shouldn't either. read more

Let me see. I am a person who supports local businesses and am always looking for hidden gems in the area where I live. I heard of the spot through a local deal and booked an appt. w/ Roseanne and was treated like a typical guest. No standout or exceptional service here. Received a standard cut and standard set of highlights. meh. I didn't like my hair or my highlights after the work she did at the salon. Roseann suggested I go home and wait a few days to get used to it. Well it's been two weeks and I hate it more than ever. I think my highlights are too light and against my dark raven hair, makes me look matronly. I specifically told her before highlighting my hair to tone my hair down to prevent brassiness and she did not do that. Instead my highlights look like tiger stripes against the dark contrast of my hair. Maybe I should have added lowlights but this was my first visit and I did not want to invest too much money or services especially w/ a stylist I have not seen before. I want to be impressed beforehand. In a nutshell, I think Roseann is an amateur haircutter. I gave her plenty of material to work with and she did not have the vision or artistic know-how to fully execute a great look or come up with something I could be happy or pleased with. She certainly gives off the impression of listening but in the end I think she is severely limited in her skills as a stylist. My hair is wayy too gorgeous and important to me to ever let someone with unskilled hands touch it again. Lesson learned. Also, another con, the mirrors in the salon are unfortunately placed. They are either placed way too high or the chairs are set way too low. I couldn't see half of what Roseanna was doing while she was cutting my hair. My hair was down to my back prior to her cutting it and I could only get a good view from the neck up. Bad bad ju ju. Next time I am going to consciously look for a salon with full length mirrors so I can be confident and feel at ease that what the stylist is doing to my hair is OK by me. I along with the rest of the public owe that to ourselves. Because I am a positive person: a plus: It's called The Spot for a reason. The salon has nice waiting rooms and good reading material selection. Feels like an apartment. However, this girl is gonna have to wait elsewhere. read more

We always go the healthy route when making changes, which I appreciate. And she doesn't get annoyed when I want a drastic change, like some other stylist have in the past. I came here for the first time yesterday to get my hair colored by Aide and it turned out soooooooo good. First, I just wanna say the salon has a cool vibe and layout. But back to my hair. I had dyed it once last year at a super expensive shop but ended up not liking it. So I kept on yelping until I found something that I liked and that's how I stumbled upon Aide. I went to get my hair cut from ROSANNA twice. The first time, I didn't like the cut, but gave it a pass because I was changing hair style/length. The second time was absolutely terrible. I was traveling and just couldn't stand my haircut, so within 2 weeks I had to get another haircut (in Europe). That hairstylist was surprised I paid money for that haircut. I've been going to The Spot for several years! It's easy to get to (turn at the Jack in the Box) and everyone there is very friendly. When you walk in it's very comfortable and everyone greets you. Some salons make it seem like you don't really belong but it doesn't feel like that here! I really like that you can get everything done here. I haven't had a spray tan yet but I definitely will be once I have an event to get one. I used to get my eyelashes done by Diana which always looked great. My eyes have gotten very sensitive so I've stopped for a while but I really want to start again! My wallet isn't such a fan of that habit but we'll see! Rosanna has been cutting and coloring my hair for over 8 years. I tell everyone I know about her. At this point several of my friends, co-workers, and even my mom go to her and my only complaint is that everyone tells her my news before I get to chat with her. Steph has been doing my hair for over a year now and she is absolutely fantastic. I tend to be a bit OCD about who does what to my hair -- getting nervous with other stylists who are scissor happy... but I have the utmost trust in Steph and her "eye" and abilities. I just chopped off about 6 inches of my hair and kept telling her I think I want to go a little bit shorter. She told me no. After she dried my hair I realized why - she was absolutely right - any shorter and it would not have looked good! My point is that Steph shoots straight from the hip and tells it like it is - she will not sugar coat things. If you think you want something that really won't look good on you, she will definitely be honest and let you know. I trust her implicitly - which says a lot. I never have to tell her much - just a vague, let's cut a little bit, or let's cut a lot and I leave her to do her thing. As far as colors go - she's a genius. I've always wanted like 4 different colors in my hair - a deep chocolate brown, caramel, blonde, and some reddish low lights to mix it up. She got it right the first time around and continually impresses me with her ideas and natural talent. I would recommend Steph to anyone that is looking for an amazing stylist but be forewarned - she is not the warm & fuzzy type! So if you are looking for someone to baby you or hold your hand, she's not the stylist for you. But if you want someone that is refreshingly honest, gives it to you straight, and does fantastic hair - she's the girl for you. She made me feel welcomed. I wanted to do a test run with my hair before I go to edc later this year. I knew what I wanted but wasn't sure if it was possible. I wanted an ombre with my fo-hawk. My hair is short so I did not have much to work with. I wanted a blue to light blue to a silver. She thought it was a awesome idea and went to work. The end result was wayyyy better than I imagined!! I read a lot of reviews before making my appointment. It said that they specialize in thin hair. Well, what I think the review meant is that they specialize in helping recondition thinning hair. Because, I can say with true honesty, I received the worst haircut I have received in a while - in fact, since I grew out the last one just over a year ago. I came in the 1st time and didn't get what I wanted, but tried a second time because at least she didn't cut it all off or botch it up. Well, this time, I came in with pictures and a description - my hair is uneven and not even close to the pictures I brought in. It is over 1" longer on one side and she used thinning shears on the other side so they are completely uneven. Instead of point cutting to get the flip I asked for she used thinning shears there too - on thin hair?!?!? Seriously, ends need to be blunt cut not thinned. The front was long and I asked for 1" at most to be cut off.... she cut off at least 2+ - then argued with me when I advised her I wanted it longer in the front - showing the hair on the floor. She also cuts dry - which is just wrong - how can you cut hair that hasn't been washed and is full of product - naturally curly and expect it to come out even close to even. The demi-color did not cover my grey let alone blend - and she didn't tell me until she put it on that it would ONLY BLEND. The appointment I originally made was for low lights and to even out the color tone since I had been coloring at home. I had scheduled a 2 1/2 hour appointment and was in and out in just over an hour. I still have new growth all around the front of my head and the grey is still visible. I cannot even wear it up - I will have to used colored dry shampoo to cover the grey. With it being so close to the holiday - they do not have time to get me back in before the 26th. After spending $120 and now having to find somewhere to get it fixed hopefully before the holiday and pay even more, I will not go back. I would share pictures, but not sure how. My mom even noticed how bad it was and she is partially blind and usually doesn't say anything negative about my hair because she figures I do it myself, which I usually do to save money. I finally decide to treat myself and get hacked so bad it will probably take another year to grow it out. read more

Where do I even begin with Linda? She takes care of me and that is what I love about her. I first met her about a year ago or longer but I did what everyone else was doing, going through YELP. I had the short a-line bob and told Linda I wanted to grow my hair and go for the ombre or balayage look. The great thing about Linda is that she will tell you how it is. I contacted her through email and she replied later that evening. I sent her photos of what I would like my hair to be once it grows out. I was able to schedule an appointment with her within a week or two. Came and saw Linda and she told me if I wanted to go for the ombre or balayage look (especially the blonde part) it would take a few sessions. Now I will be honest, I didn't want to hear that because I wanted it now! But Linda was honest with me and told me if she was to bleach my hair instantly that color, I would probably not only damage my hair but possibly lose a big chunk of it. But I took her advice and I am so unbelievably happy with how my hair is now. When you come in to see Linda the great thing about her is that she puts her FULL attention on you. She will never squeeze someone in while you're in getting your hair done by her. I don't know about you, but that shows how serious she is about her work. I get lots of compliments from my coworkers and it's all thanks to Linda. She will help you throughout your process and let you know what she is doing and why she is doing it. I am glad I listened to Linda and took her advice. I will travel the distance for her. She is worth my drive. read more

Very disappointed with my haircut from Rosanna. I really wanted to like this place considering it's nearby my house. I asked for long layers but there's no style in my hair cut. It just looks like she chopped off a section here and there. The front is not even at all. I couldn't tell when I left since she had my hair blow dried with wavy ends. Review for LINDA: This review is long overdue. I met Linda a year ago at her former place of employment down the street. She made me feel comfortable when I took the "chop" from waist length hair to an A-line bob. She cut my hair to perfection. The inside layer never outgrew the outside so I didn't have any hair flipping out from underneath. I had a nice stacked A-line bob for months!! Fast forward several months. I called to book an appointment with her again because I needed a trim and she was no longer working at salon. I immediately grew panic and started searching for her high and low because I never had her personal number. I think at the time, she was just getting settled in at The Spot, but I had no idea and her former place of work was not very forthcoming with her whereabouts, or the original person who I talked to wasn't. I gave up and settled for a haircut with another stylist down the street who completely destroyed my cut and left me with an old Asian lady haircut. It was so bad and made me so sad to where I was deathly afraid to go back and let her fix it. I didn't want that lady anywhere near my head. So I called the old salon and pretended I didn't know Linda was no longer working there and acted like I wanted to book an appointment with her and to my surprise, this lady was happy to tell me where she was working out of. I found Linda on Yelp (thank god for Yelp) and called her immediately. She heard my plea and desperation and sensed this was equivalent to a 911 emergency, so she squeezed me into an appointment two days later. read more

She's absolutely amazing with color. She's great to talk to, extremely reliable and always accommodating when I need to change my appointment. I've been to see Stephanie for microdermabrasions three times now and I have to say that she is fantastic. She does a very thorough job and has wonderful bedside manners. She also waxed and plucked my eyebrows and they turned out very nice. She does massages and other skin treatments as well.
