Sorry folks...you wont see me back here. $6.50 for a Guinness draft...8 bucks for a Tito vodka...and an avacado dip for 11 bucks that was more like a cream soup that took 15 minutes to prepare. Nope - no local pub price here. Ownership is just making us move on to the reasonable price range elsewhere. Menu needs trimming so a handful of the items are perfect each and every time. Sushi ? Lets put out some quality comfort food first on a consistent basis along with a nice sirloin steak for 19.99. To many choices waters down the quality and the 'fresh' food comes out of a freezer. For 8 years I have never had a bad meal. They are as consistent as Tom Brady during Playoffs. The service is the best of any eatery north of Boston. Negative The only parking is street parking and that is very limited and a real pain in the butt. And other parking says towing all over the place. If your local bike it.....safer. Observation SUSHI IS GREAT...but chef when you pick fish or anything off a dirty bar floor....PLEASE CHANGE GLOVES....you did it twice and I was not really looking....eeeks. read more

Friday night dinner. Dining room just about full, bar still had some seats but they have a nice setup, almost like a second row of the bar set up in the restaurant. Server was really nice, no idea why our entrees took forever to come out. Told us our dinners were being plated but they didn't show for another 10 minutes. Both got fish tacos, really way more spicy than the menu disclosed. Fries were delish. Will try again, maybe not on Friday night. Surprised the spot only has three stars, I LOVE their food!!!! The mac and cheese and veggie caterpillar sushi is to DIE for. I am moving to Rowley, so this will be my new "go to" restaurant for sure! I love coming here. read more

We live nearby and there are few choices for dinner, so we have visited The Spot many times over the years. The food is not worth the price and the service can be spotty, but there are weeknights that we don't want to cook and it's the easiest choice. There's always the hope that we might get a decent burger. Last week, though, they served me a sandwich which drew the line clearly and I won't be back. I ordered a roasted vegetable sandwich and was served sauteed onions, peppers, and mushrooms between 2 pieces of french bread. Really? How could anyone include such an uninspired excuse for a sandwich on their menu? It was a flat, mushy nothing of a sandwich. I've enjoyed other Serenitee restaurants, but this location has never lived up to their brand. Not sure why. read more

Stopped here on a snowy Tuesday night on a last minute idea. The bar was full, restaurant side empty when we arrived but packed when we left. Apparently it was wing night so we ordered 2 different types of wings, honey habanero and sweet thai chili. Both were meaty and tasty, the blue cheese dip was really thick and good. Had a burger that was cooked as ordered and blackened chicken salad with a jalapeño ranch dressing, also great. Service was attentive and very friendly. Great beer choices and they have a really good organic red wine I've never had before but loved it. Everyone seemed to be ordering the sushi which looked great, the sushi maker was working non stop the entire time we were there. The service is so hit or miss. Mostly miss. The food is pretty good, but no one ever asks if it was prepared correctly. Recently burger ordered medium was well, but they never asked or even came back until it was too late. Steak tips well when ordered medium rare, but no one checks back. I've been 5 times in the last month and frankly, if there were more options in the area I'd give up. There are a couple of guys who bartend who seem to be much better, but still... I simply keep trying this place and if they're not messing up my meal, what I do get lacks flavor. The "sushi" is imitation, so anyone with dietary restrictions can't eat it... what's the point of a sushi restaurant if its not real sushi. The staff could be friendlier (except Jay and James they're always smiling and helpful). I believe everything is overpriced. If they had any competition it would be closed by now. Ok for a drink but if your looking for a real meal drive elsewhere. Sad because the other restaurants in this group I have enjoyed. read more

Went with my boyfriend on opening weekend. I live within walking distance and was über excited to have a restaurant so close. I understand it takes time for a restaurant to ind it's groove, but that shouldn't mean the stag can't be friendly and attentive. We sat at the bar. I got a margarita which was served in a pint glass which was fine. My boyfriend ordered a captain and coke which was served in a very small glass ($8!!!). We ordered nachos with chicken ($15!!). The cheese was piled on the top layer of chips only and the chicken, what there was of it, was obviously burnt. Why they served us burnt chicken I still don't know. The pico de gallo was excellent though. Loved the hint of lime. But that was the only good thing. I finished my drink and sat with an empty glass for a good 10 minutes while all three bartenders kept walking by and ignoring me. I put the drink to the edge of the bar and was finally asked if I wanted another. Four drinks and nachos and $60 later we left and went to the pub for reasonably priced drinks and dinner. Poor service, overpriced and uppity menu. Not sure if we will ever go back. read more

I'm giving The Spot, 2 stars. We have been here numerous times and this was the first time we have had horrible service! We arrived at 5:50 Sunday night and waited for 10min for the hostess. Once she came she told us-(party of 4) that we would have to wait because while there was a table READY for us at the moment. She wanted to make sure there would be a table ready for the 4 person reservation at 6:30. Mind you-it was obvious tables were finishing up. Yet, she seemed to think she couldn't get us a table until AFTER the reservation showed up and wouldn't take our name. I'm sorry but the manger should have put a closed sign on the door if you aren't willing to take people nor put our names on a waitlist. Your hostess tonight, definitely lost you business tonight-we live in NH and don't come down here often unless we can escape for a day date for lunch but decided to stop in after the Celtics game to have some wings and drinks... let alone feed our kids. But we couldn't. I'm not sure we will be back anytime soon or give good recommendations after this. read more

We've been to The Spot on three different occasions for an early dinners for our 2.5yo son and have ordered take out on a couple of occassions. We had great service, great food and my husband appreciates the beer selection. It's actually one of our favorites since moving to the North Shore. I'd agree with previous reviews that sometimes the wait can be a bit long for food, but they bring my son's meal our straight away and gives us a chance to chat like adults longer - which is a treasured experience with a toddler. read more

The quality of the food was fine; however, it wasn't hot enough. We sat at the bar and the barmaid was pleasant but extremely pregnant, which caused her to move slowly and not check the kitchen often enough. Also, despite having an impressive display of Grateful Dead posters on the walls, the music screeching from the speakers was annoyingly loud Motown. My wife and I ate at The Spot on Tuesday Trivia Night. We had a very pleasant waitress who was friendly and attentive. We ordered the $.50 wings which were meaty and tasty. It's a little hokey the wings are served al a carte requiring you to pay $.75 each for carrots & celery and blue cheese dressing. From there we ordered 3 different sushi rolls which were also quite good. The trivia was good but not great. The host had very little enthusiasm and the questions were mostly boring and dated. I'd like to see a host with some more personality and ask more relevant questions. Overall, we had a good experience. I would definitely return. read more

I love having the The Spot in our quaint town of Georgetown! The bar is always lively no matter what day/night you come by! I Especially enjoy when Tammy is working behind the bar! She always has a warm welcome and smile while multi- tasking through the day keeping everyone satisfied and happy to be there. She always has a drink or food selection if you just can't seem to make your mind up from their long list of great appetizers, meals and my favorite...Sushi! (Highly recommend the 'Tuna King' ;). The sushi is made fresh to order and comes out in a different display/platter and fulfilling every time I order it! If I find myself at a high top in the bar or main dining area, I find the wait staff to be very attentive and pleasant. I have often come down just for the evening entertainment the Spot offers; especially Thursday evenings 7-9pm when my favorite local artist AJ Edwards 'sparks things up!' With his great voice and guitar and some familiar tunes. The deals are always happening at The Spot...day or night. Georgetown is a great town to live and to have The Spot restaurant only adds to the character and genuine people that live here! I hope they continue to keep the freshness and new ideas going there so people are excited to come again and again as I do! read more

Love The Spot... Another favorite of ours. Best local Sushi in the area, and love their tuna tartare and seaweed salad... the rest of the menu is equally great too! But I always get the sushi. Try the Paloma margarita for something refreshing; hubby loves the dirty martini. Stumbled upon this place by chance on a late Saturday. Menu is really diverse. From chicken and waffles to sushi. Everyone in our party was really happy with the food which consisted of meatloaf, haddock, burger and the bbq platter. Great beer and drink menu. Only downside was just a bit pricy. I frequent the Spot on Sundays with my husband and a friend of ours and it is always a highlight of my week. The food, drinks and service are impeccable. The last time we went I got the Peach Fuss drink (Peach whiskey and fresh tea?? YES PLEASE!) and the burger on special which had goat cheese, candied bacon and blueberry BBQ on it. We were given two gift cards to two separate restaurants and used them back to back nights. The first restaurant had low reviews and we found it pretty great. On the other hand, The Spot had good reviews and we found it disappointing. Sat at the bar and were in general direction of the entrance door, very cold. Ordered a Turkey club and the Turkey was as dry and tough as shoe leather. Luckily there was not much Turkey so the garnishes were the majority of the sandwich. Service was great. Can I add super expensive for what you get. Too expensive, poor quality, can not recomend. read more

My husband and I are in town visiting his Dad and stepmom whom live literally 2 minutes away. We ordered Turkey club wrap and fries and it was amazing. The fries were so crisp and usually I don't like hand cut fries because they tend to get soggy but these didn't. We shared an order and still didn't eat them all. We decided to give this "spot" a try. First they forgot to seat us. Our supposed 5 minute wait was very long. Our server took forever to return to take our order and never checked on us once after we received our meals. The potatoes leek soup was bland and overpriced. My portobello sandwich was way overpriced for what I got. My friend's sushi was awful he said. To top it off, our check amount was tripled as our waiter combined our bill with another table. Went here last Sunday for a patriots game. wasn't overly busy. great spot to watch the games. we had mussels wings and a chicken sandwich. everything was good. my favorite was definitely the wings. the lighting was oddly very bright, a bit unwelcoming. drinks and food are definitely over priced. I had 2 drinks and my bf had 2 beers. we shared an app and got a sandwich and wings. spent over $125 and the wings were discounted! but the patriots did win so wooo hooo! read more

We visited The Spot a couple of weeks ago with some friends who had a Groupon. None of us had ever eaten there. What a treat. All 4 of us loved our meals. The wait staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. Without asking, the hostess seated us away from the bar area as it was Trivia night and she knew (we're a little older) that it would be less noisy. We agreed that we would definitely come back and we'll let others know of this hidden jewel in Georgetown! read more
