Love this spa. I buy the gift cards from costco and get a regular massage and facials. I have yet to have a bad experience. I go extra early to sit in the lounge area and enjoy the infrared sauna. I especially enjoy going when it is really cold outside and enjoying the heated marble loungers, it helps me with the winter blues. I would highly recommend. read more

Went in on Thursday of this week as was given gift certificates for this place and wanted to use them up. Had a relaxation massage and a manicure done. Facility was clean and tastefully decorated. The change room felt tight as there was 5 of ushered to the room at one time to change. Also showers open directly into the change room which personally I didn't like for privacy and room to dry my long hair. Plus the room can get a bit warm from the steam. Massage was an awesome experience, I felt totally relaxed. I liked that you were offered several different scents to choose from at the start. I had to wait for the manicure so I took that opportunity to get dressed, which was a good idea as the nail polish takes so long to dry. The manicure was where I feel it was NOT worth the money. I was having regular manicures up to the New Year for half the money, with shellac, and they would look pretty good for about 2 weeks. This manicure was already smudged on one nail by the time I got home, and I drove for 40 minutes, but by Saturday had chipped so bad on several nails that I had to remove it. I feel it should have looked good for at least 4 days but was hoping for a week out of it. The manicure was nothing special for that price, not even a top coat put on. Likely would not have gotten the manicure if I could have used up the balance of the gift certificates on retail product but that is not permitted. Gift certificates have to be used for services; I asked about it when I called to book the massage. I feel you should be able to spend the gift certificate on what you want at the spa, not have to utilize expensive services that the spa is promoting. read more

Just recently went to this spa for a facial and had a less-than-relaxing experience which left me extremely frustrated. The facility itself is pleasant, and I've been to this spa before, in fact, I've recommended it a number of times to friends. I won't be going back after this experience, though. I arrived at the spa 30 minutes early, but my facialist was late beginning the appointment. This can be understandable if the appointment still goes for its set length of time, but it stared the treatment off on a sour foot. The most troubling part was the noise. This facility is great for groups, it has a dining area and many group congregating areas. Unfortunately for the guests in treatment rooms, any noise from these areas and hallways echoes and can be heard while in the private rooms, and it is very disruptive. Even talking among the staff can echo into the rooms. The constant commotion threw off any relaxation I was trying to experience. Furthermore, my facialist left the room 5 times, which only created further distractions and louder bursts of the hallway noise. My appointment ended about 5-10 minutes early, and my "15 minute, $25 scalp massage" was 5 minutes, max. Don't think I can justify returning now, especially for what they charge for the services rendered. read more

I took my mom there for her birthday on January 29 2015. The lady who did my facial was pregnant. We went for a couples facial because my mom didn't want to go in alone. I will say the amenities are beautiful I loved the sauna and that they had lockers for your things. I also loved the heated seats in the waiting area and that they had tea and snacks. Unfortunately the actual facial is what I had a problem with. The ladies didn't talk to us during the facial which was awkward and at one point during the facial I felt like the worker was using scissors to cut something off my face. It realllllllllly hurt and I've been to many facials before and through many extractions and never felt that. I consider myself to have a high pain tolerance as well. Even after I said owwww she didn't stop. Afterwards I asked a few questions and she mentioned that sometimes you get pimples if you try to pop pimples with dirty hands. Which was IRONIC. As the next day in the spot she was attacking I broke out in a huge pimple that had 3 white heads! It was huge! My sister saw it and made fun of me asking me if she should take me to the emergency room. So horrible and the opposite of what you would expect paying nearly 450 dollars ( I bought a couple of products) Anyways I wouldn't go there again for a facial too expensive and I found the staff not to be the friendliest. The spa is decorated very nicely but they do everything by their "protocol" as they call it. It is staffed by a number of young women who have no authority, poor training and very little knowledge. A disappointing experience which I will not repeat. read more

Very disappointing for the price. Although my manicure/pedicure are nicely done and my esthetician was polite,and knowledgeable (Lisa), I won't be returning to the Spa Ritual. For this price range, there are more relaxing, better spa experiences to be had in the Calgary area. When I booked (well in advance), I was told that I would not be able to add a massage to my package without a 2hr wait between services. How feasible is this for those that require childcare? I was also informed that I would have to bring my own flipflops (not provided), and access to the lounge area is restricted to clients with massages, so there are no chaisses or robes, or shower access. (Okay, so at this point I'm expecting just an expensive nail salon...not a spa, but I had a gift card, so I still booked.)When booking, I checked that a smoothie would be available as part of my gift card package, as my services were over the lunch hour. I was offered tea and water, but not the smoothie. Not a huge deal, but again this distracted from the spa atmosphere. The most frustrating part of the afternoon was when another client came in with a small baby (5 months old) and sat right next to me, commenting that "I'm sure people don't come to the spa to hear a baby cry." and "Don't worry, she won't cry for long." It is not that I objected to her breastfeeding in public, or even that her child cried for very long (actual a cute, well-behaved girl), but I had gone to great lengths and expense- as a single mother desperately in need of child-free downtime- to arrange childcare for my own 6 month-old, so that myself (and other "spa" patrons) could have a few quiet hours. I felt like the staff should politely be letting people know when they book that children can not be accomodated at a "spa"....no one said anything to this other patron, though. If I had wanted that kind of an experience, I would have taken my son with me to my usual ordinary salon (Angles in Panorama, or Groovy Nails in Beddington Mall)where they do excellent nail work for a third of the price. The Spa Ritual is clean, and the staff was courteous and friendly, but it was definitely not a high-end spa-like experience. For special, relaxing and true spa experiences in the future, I will be recommending to friends and returning to my usual spas- The Riverside Spa in Bowness and the Fairmont out in Banff, where for the same rates, they provide robes, slippers, chaisses, drinks and fruit/cookies, more access to combined services with shorter breaks in between, and a truly relaxing quiet spa atmosphere. read more

I have been here before for a few different treatments...massages, pedicures etc. I really enjoyed my time there- pricey, but very relaxing.

I had a pedicure at the spa ritual. Nice lobby with a variety of items for sale. Waited about 5 minutes before I was greeted by reception. I was taken back to the pedicure area. Large room with round centre bench to take off shoes. Music playing and tea served. The chairs were the same as any other pedicure facilily. Mild scrubbing of the feet, no razoring Very clean and sterile just like any other spa. I thought the experience was alright, that is until the nail polish chipped off 1 week later and 3 days into my vacation. In my opinion definatley not worth the value of 130 dollars. I have been to another facilty where you pick the nail polish and it is then yours to keep. This touch makes the high price tag more reasonable, not to mention much more sterile( who knows how many others have had the same color with the same brush applied to their feet?) Overall in my opinion save your self 90 dollars and go across the street where the pedi's last for 4 to5 weeks. read more
