If I could give less than 1 star, I would. My son and I each had separate memberships here, and at the start, the staff were all smiles while taking our payment. I bought a 1-year package (11 sessions) after being told I could share it with a friend. In practice, this meant that if my friend used a session, the invoice went under their name, they could claim it through their insurance, and the reimbursement went straight to them -- something I personally did not realize would happen, and that made the "sharing" benefit useless for me. One time, I congratulated my therapist on a promotion, only to be told at the front desk after my massage that I owed an extra fee. The reason? The therapist had been promoted that day -- even though my booking was made well before that. From my experience, the membership policies here are unclear and can easily lead to unexpected costs. When I asked how many sessions I had left, I received no answer before my appointment. After my massage, I was told three of my remaining sessions were "on hold" because my membership term had ended, and that I could only use them if I bought another membership. I never received any reminder about my membership expiring. My advice: if you decide to come here for the massage itself, be very clear on all the fine print first. In my case, the lack of transparency turned what could have been a positive experience into an expensive and frustrating one. read more

If I could give less then 1 star I would. The massage therapist was lovely and if she was in any other clinic I would go and use her again. However the office is completely crooked. They made me feel uncomfortable with their pushy scripted sales tactics and convinced me to sign up for a 3 MONTH, membership to "save money" on my massage. I asked explicitly for clarification and that I would only be interested in signing for 3 months to see if it worked for me. Well BE CAREFUL, and read the damn contract (my fault) but still think it should be communicated be the SELLER. It rolls to a month to month and you will continue to be charged until you EMAIL the company... and then they will initiate a cancellation IN 30 DAYS FROM THEN! (So yes, another months charge!) Completely crooked. I would have continued to go there, I would have recommended them but instead I am wasting my time writing a online review to WARN others. Went in today after booking a light massage. Instead of what I asked for, my massage was too hard and not at all relaxing. I told her a couple of times to go lighter, but it didn't seem to change anything and it was quite painful. This is the second time in a row that this has happened, and they don't seem to listen to the clients. A year ago I had a membership and was quite satisfied but now the experience is not relaxing or therapeutic. Firstly, I'd like to address a situation was handled at the Crowfoot Location in Calgary, AB. I saw James for a 1hour massage, in which he asked me about my dreams and fears, and asked about my life story. I advised him that I don't normally talk during a massage as I am there to relax, figuring he'd take the hint to stop. He then began telling me all about himself and continued to ask extremely personal questions and asked me to sing!! I told reception post massage that I felt uncomfortable and would like a refund. Didn't happen. I was however harassed for my credit card info. I also cancelled my membership at that time as well. I thought.... A few months passed and I wanted to go back for a drop in massage, not caring about the fact that I wasn't a member anymore. I was told that I had an outstanding balance from my previous membership, which had been cancelled as per my request. Or atleast was supposed to have been. I was told that this issue was resolved and that I did not owe any money due to my complaint!!! Being that forward to november 28th (today) at 6:15 pm at the BRENTWOOD location. phoned this morning to ask about starting up a membership again, asked if I could book for today and have my payments come out monthly on the 5th starting on Dec 5th. The woman I spoke to told me this was fine. That was not the case! I was rudely told that I owed my balance now, and after explaining the situation was told that's not how it works. I expressed my frustration with the ever declining service at massage heights in general l, and that I was here to give it another chance after being sexually harassed and feeling violated by a therapist at crowfoot (James) The receptionist rudely asked "well did you complain at the time?" I said I did. She asked "to who?" I answered and then in an extremely rude and condescending tone she said "well then you should've called the police" I am well aware of what constitutes sexual harassment, abuse etc, and what requires a police report. Being condescended like that and talked down to is victim shaming, and is 100% inappropriate. The manager (Melissa?) was reassuring but did not offer a solution!! she only offered me a much more expensive "solution" to get the pay upfront 3 month massage program, or move my appointment to a later date. My mom has also come home complaining that various staff members have vented to her about how all the "other Asian ladies run rub and tug clinics and all the English they know is $300 you f*ck me" my mother has expressed that Katie from Brentwood has gone on about Asian gang violence as well during what is supposed to be an uplifting experience I am EXTREMELY offended read more

I originally signed up for a one year of monthly massages. During my contract time frame I became chronically ill and was unable to use 5 paid up massages. I recently called to inquire on their availability and was informed they were no longer in the system and would not be honoured. I will not recommend a company to anyone when they love to collect your money but aren't willing to work out a compromise with their clients! Tried this place for the first time and was really disappointed ... booked for 2 hours and they scheduled an hour.. it started 10 minutes late and ended 5 minutes early... so all and all it was 45 minutes.. ... the therapist has a massage staring at 8 and - the same time they scheduled for mine to end so it's pretty obvious the plan was to cut it short ... I feel that's extremely dishonest.. they advertise for full hours and their receipts show 60 minutes.... such a rare opportunity for me to have time to do this... Not going back read more

Massage was great but all relaxation was ruined by being harassed for my credit card number and bank info by their manager. What I really hated about this place is that me and my husband signed this membership for six months to charge us monthly for massages with a "cheaper price". However, apparently they "AUTO RENEW" the contract at the end of 6 months which totally makes no sense! when you sign a contract for 6 months, You want it for freaking 6 months. We had it on a credit card that we don't check very often so they charged us for 3 months. Then we asked them to cancel the contract but it took them 30 days to do it, so we ended up paying for another month. This is very disrespectful and untranslatable. Do not go there and if you do, do not get the membership. They are gonna charge you forever. read more

Massage Heights is an interesting business. I understand that they want people to sign up for their membership, which I did for 2 years! But after constant fighting and continually needing them to reconcile my massages and elevations I finally got rid of my membership. Each time I go for a massage I need to double and triple check how many are left because I get a different answer each time which is very frustrating. I have to keep records of it & track it myself. I also do not like that they ask me to tip BEFORE my massage. I understand they want to get the customers out easily, but it is not okay to ask people to tip for a service before it is received. What if it's a bad service, but I've already tipped them?! Doesn't make sense, it also makes customers feel obligated to tip on a scale which doesn't reflect the actual service. The massages are great, I don't have a bad thing to say about the therapists and the massages - they are fabulous. The decor is nice and relaxing. read more

I've been here before for my introductory $59.99 massage and it wasn't bad. I went on to purchase a 3 month package to use since I couldn't dedicate a monthly massage visit. What's great is that the minutes are banked and I can use them any time. Finally after 2+ years I got to use up the last of my 90 minutes. The first 90 minutes I used at Mission and had a great experience! This time was a totally different one. I had a male (I won't mention his name because I don't want to get him fired or reprimanded in my case alone) and he took me in at least 10 minutes late. The consultation was a little awkward and uncomfortable. He did address my back as much as possible and it was fine during that part of the massage. It got really weird towards the end when he was working on my forehead and scalp. I told him I don't want my face worked on at all because I get pimples from having my face touched. He massaged my forehead and temples. UGH!!! I don't particularly enjoy scalp massages and it seemed like he was killing time by continually massaging my scalp and pulling my hair. He hadn't even worked on my hamstrings, calves, feet, arms, or hands when he had so much time left to do those body parts. I could sense he was inexperienced in all aspects of massage therapy from the consultation to the end. Hopefully he will be able to improve because if not, he chose the wrong profession to be in. Massage Heights in general is a good business but this experience definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I would go back, but not to this location in particular. read more

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT TO ANYONE. Massage Heights Crowfoot overcharged my credit card TWICE, and refuse to refund me! Unprofessional Manager "Ashley," did not contact me after I went in person to speak about this. I phoned after three days of not hearing anything from them, and asked to speak with a manager politely, and she would NOT come to the phone! They front-staff manipulated me into thinking both over-charges were my fault, when upon further investigation because it didn't feel right, I rediscovered that they did over-charge me TWICE!! I keep very close watch over my spending, and I have physical proof of their over-charges on my bank statements and scheduling times on my calendar. I feel so scammed after 8 months of regular massages. A customer should always be treated with respect, but you'd think a regular would get even a bit of extra attention throughout such a major financial issue! I am unbelievable disappointed in the front desk staff and horrible "management." I feel sick to have lost so much money,(I am not covered) and not even get the closure of speaking to a manager about this. Can I give less than one star for the business practices? Massage therapists have been pretty good. The pay apparently isn't as god as others, so most of the therapists are relatively new to the business and eventually leave. More than once I have found a good therapist, only to have them leave. The business practices are UNFAIR, UNETHICAL and border on FRAUD. You MUST sign up for a membership and they charge you automatically. They also auto-renew you once your membership expires, so you have to formally cancel. Last March, my credit card was stolen, thus cancelled. I was travelling for work, so it took me a couple of months to get in to update it. When I did, they charged me for 4 months of massages on one day. Manager at Crowfoot location, Melanie Laing, was unwilling to speak to me directly and was unable to refund the excess charges. As such, I immediately cancelled my membership. I will go to another location to use my remaining prepaid massages (a good therapist moved to another location, not to far away). I will NEVER return to Massage Heights Crowfoot and I will never renew my membership after using the massages that I have already paid for. read more

I'm always excited to get massages and I love how massage heights makes it easy for me to get regular massages . I love the prepay concept. Its sad some people don't get how the business work. Its nice because I've never heard of membership for massages ! The great thing is that you never lose the massage even if you forget to come in. So even if you are such a busy person, there's still a massage waiting for you and to run to! I like their receptionist staff, they are very friendly and nice ! Its not like other receptionists where they ignore you and are very snotty. I give this 4 stars because its not a full hour massage but $84 will give you a massage and a choice of hotstones, face massage or feet massage. But I guess if you go some where else its already almost $100 for only 60 mins ! I get to save $20 just for 10 mins less . read more

Had my first experience at massage heights yesterday and it was not awesome. My regular massage place was full and I was in need of something quick and they seemed reasonably priced for your first visit. It was a nice atmosphere when I came in and was greeted but the massage did not meet my expectations. It honestly felt like someone just pushing on various places around my back/ neck and arms. I do not think they followed any muscle lines or worked very consistently. The right and left sides did not get the same treatments/ motions/ length of time and I left feeling "unbalanced" lol, for lack of a better term! I did not like that I paid for an hour massage and only got 50 minutes (less changing time) of hands on Any relaxation I did achieve was thrown out the window when I came out and got the membership sales pitch. I don't know if it was just the masseuse I had but I would not be recommending this place. read more

Very good at taking your money. They won't tell you if your therapist is insurance compatible. They use words like "complimentary" when you first sign up. Warning: nothing is complimentary, they nickel and dime you for everything. And watch out for the "auto-renew" policy which charges you for additional massages even after your contract is up. They won't be clear on any of these policies when you sign the paperwork. Read everything or they'll take you for everything you got. read more

BEWARE! Very, very disappointed with Massage Heights. My provider, Yunia has always been terrific but the business model/practice Massage Heights uses is deceiving and dishonourable. Last week, I was told I had a 'credit' on my file for 90 minutes for unused massages earlier in the year and so I scheduled a 1.5 hour massage to use up my credit. When I arrived I was advised that my credit was only 30 minutes and additionally I would be charged a non-member rate of $125 for the additional hour. I was not impressed as I had been told I had 1.5 hours on credit. The staff member was apologetic, unwaivering and offered up "Become a member again and you won't be charged the non-member rate". Ok, I thought it was a reasonable solution and I proceeded into the massage. Upon check out I paid the member rate of $69 in addition to using my 30 minute credit. THEN a contract was literally shoved under my nose and I was told that I would be signing a 12 month commitment to becoming a member cancellable only if I had a doctors note or proof of relocation. That wasn't explained either BEFORE I went into the massage. Our family was registered for a family plan for the past 2 years and even then the 'Regional Manager' I was speaking to would not honour a member price in this situation, even though I was given incorrect information at booking. I should have walked out of there at that point, instead I paid an additional $60some for the non-member portion and decided to wash my hands of this company. And so MASSAGE HEIGHTS? ARE YOU GOING TO RESPOND TO THIS REVIEW AND MAKE THIS RIGHT? My Advice for others is find another place that offers great massages, go when you need to, pay a little bit more, but don't get locked into a contract and/or messed around by Message Heights. Very, Very, Very poor practice. You have lost an entire family of repeat customers. Shame on you! read more

On September 1st. I phoned in to book a massage. I was greeted by an enthusiastic young lady who answered all my questions and assigned a therapist by the name of Sharon , that she thought would be very suitable to my requests. I arrived at massage Heights and approached the desk to check in . Again I was greeted by 2 accommodating young ladies. I asked them about the elevations that were on sale and ended up buying a package of 3. One of the young ladies that checked me in , actually, wrote out long hand, the elevations available and what they involved. Wow , talk about going the extra mile. I was greeted by my therapist, Sharon, right on time and proceeded to the massage room with her. She interviewed me and talked of my concerns . The massage I received was extremely professional and Sharon gave me one of the best massages I have had at any Massage Heights location. I don't understand the other reviews on here. I've had massages for years in many, many places and Massage Heights at Crowfoot is great! The ladies that work at the desk are always polite, nice and appear to be working hard to please everyone. There are lots of therapists to choose from and they are always making appointments based on people's requests and insurance needs. I was leary of signing up for a membership at first but realized that it met my needs. My membership requirements are met by one massage a month and I book an additional massage every month so that I can go every two weeks. I was going to the spa, this is more reasonable. Sure I don't get to use a sauna or have a shower, but before I was making sure that was using the spa facilities so I could 'get my money's worth' now I get the massage that I went in for and I have a shower at home. When you compare the price, it's well worth it to shower at home! High price doesn't always equal a better massage. I've paid a lot for lousy massages and a little for fantastic massages at locations while travelling. Speaking of price, when the gift cards go on sale buy some for yourself for your extra massages and the cost per massage averages out even lower. I bet you can't beat the deal with any other registered therapist in town, I've tried. To the lady that ended up in pain. That is really unfortunate. I've had it happen to me too... years ago. It doesn't happen now. You must advocate for your body. The therapists can not read your mind or your pain level unless you tell them. They are more then happy to do less pressure, they don't want to hurt you and the reality is that it is easier to give a lighter massage... less work for them. To the person complaining about the '40 minutes'... it is the same everywhere. It takes time to change the linens, which is better then not taking time to change the linens. It takes time to greet you and for you to change. I've learned to keep greetings to a minimum, let them know what I would like for my massage that day, get ready quickly, and if I want to have a conversation I wait until I am face down! You can increase your time to 50-52 minutes especially if you go to the same therapist regularly and they know that you get ready quickly. Another benefit of Massage Heights is that they have a lot of therapists. This is great if your therapist is on holiday, ill or decides to move. If you are not pleased with the one you are seeing, ask to try someone else, everyone does a massage slightly different. read more
