I absolutely love this place. When I go for a massage, I dislike the therapists talking to me. It's my time out, so I like to be pampered and not have to engage with anyone, well...Exige is just that! Quiet and serene! Once you enter the spa, this place takes you away. The view of the river is unobstructed. I usually come early so I can have a seat there and people watch. I've been to many massage wellness in Calgary and abroad and Exige is a place that really provides an escape. It's like going to Asia, but not having to spend the money and time. The Traditional Thai is alot like Thailand, but my favorite has to be combo massage. The therapists work on my tight muscles with deep tissue than the last 15 minutes, they use Traditional Thai techniques and I get the stretching and pressure points worked on. I get the best of both world; East and West massage benefits. I highly recommend you book for 90 minutes, even with that, it still feels like time flies. My back was bothering me and I tried acupuncture with Dr. Amanda. Be prepared for the most relaxing and therapeutic treatment ever. I have tried acupuncture with physiotherapists, chiro and other acupuncturists, but Dr. Amanda is so gentle that you wonder if it's even normal? Apparently, it's not supposed to hurt and it's supposed to be a very relaxing and sedative experience. I feel asleep and before I knew it, the treatment was done and I didn't want it to. My back felt amazing! I was able to head back into the gym for the rest of that week and was back in full swing the following week. I do need to warn you though, she is super busy and costs a bit more than others. But after factoring in the that it only took one session and I was back active. It was worth it. She's really a no non sense kind of person. She gets to the root of the issue and she will turn you away if she can't help you. I've chatted with a guy in the waiting area who was referred out because Dr. Amanda felt she couldn't help him. The place is hard to find, so be prepared. The rooms are open concept with lots of space and background noise of water fall as well as spa music, which will melt your stresses away. Aromatherapy is included in your treatment, so the place smells so good. Most places I go to, the room is on a cooler side, which makes it hard to relax, but the hotstones are included here, so be prepared to be toasty and drift off in a sleep. Book in advance, especially if you want to come in for couples massage. It's a very popular treatment here. We had to book 2 weeks in advance to get decent hours. What can I say? I love this place. I've had three massage treatments at Exige now and I've been blown away every single time. I have typically hated any type of massage in the past, primarily because I'm weak and it hurts; however, after my first sessions with one of the therapists, though it was a bit painful, I can't get enough!! I feel my shoulders craving for some deep pressure and relaxation and have felt a lot more relaxed in general. If you've never been to Exige before, they offer a variety of options and you can choose a massage treatment that is suited to your needs. Therapists will focus on any area(s) that need relaxation or just a full body focus. The first time at Exige, I tried a combination of full body deep tissue and relaxation. This including some stretching at the end as well which was actually very relieving. My second appointment, I decided to try their Traditional Thai massage. I LOVED it! The therapists goes through a set of different yoga movements and stretches with you and it feels phenomenal. If you ever need that extra stretching after a workout or in general, this just feels so good and you know that you're getting a full body stretch!! Traditional Thai is definitely not a massage appointment you can fall asleep in. My third appointment was full body, all relaxation. The pressure and tempo were perfect and allowed me to fall asleep and forget about the responsibilities and stresses of life. The pressure wasn't too hard and sometimes you need just a bit of pressure to feel relaxed. Dr. Amanda provides phenomenal support for her clients and if you ever have any questions in regards to health or if you're unsure of what treatment to do, she will sit and chat with you about the different options and accommodate to your needs. And the therapists are wonderful. They are consistent throughout their appointments and will always make it their priority to focus on the areas that you have requested. 10 stars for Exige. I have been going to Exige for more than a year; The first time I went for a incredible nutrition and fitness plan that help me to reach my fitness goals with excellent results. After that I tried for the first time acupuncture and I really like it and recommend it for pain relieve. I spend lots of time sitting at work so I started to have pain in my lower back so I decide to try the deep tissue massage and the Thai massage and they help me to relieve my back problems and I could use the receipts for my work health insurance with no problem. I also referred my mom to Dr. Amanda because she had fibromyalgia problems in her arms and she had been improving considerably since she started to have treatment with acupuncture and massage. I'm updating my review. My first visit here was about a month ago. I was deeply in need of a massage. My therapist was Nui and she was just lovely. I've visited her 3 times now, once a week. She made my sore back/shoulders so much better. She did a combo of deep tissue and relaxation and you have a choice of a extra free add on like cupping. If you are in need of a massage, go see her or anyone at this spa. The service is very friendly, the location is great, and they even top up your parking time if you want more time added. You even have chocolate to chose from when you leave. My last massage was yesterday and they gave clients roses for Valentine's Day. I don't usually write reviews but I've been looking for a good massage in yyc and finally found it! I had a 60 min deep tissue (and they gave me a bunch of free add ones... and who doesn't like free stuff, right?!). I have several issues with my neck and back so am constantly in some sort of discomfort. My neck and upper back have been acting up about 5 days now, I took morphine last night to try to ease the pain so I could at least get a couple hours sleep... slept 2 hours. My friend booked me in and I'm so glad he did!! I'm not exaggerating, this was the best upper body massage I have ever gotten. I have full range of motion again and no pain. Seriously!! A true gem in Calgary! Situated by the peaceful riverside, interior decor is tasteful, zen, and essential oil offered a nice aroma that I felt the immediate relaxation after walking into the massage room. All staff were super friendly. My masseuse Lucy, she is very strong (don't ever underestimate a small Asian lady...), and she went straight to my painful and tense areas to release them from the beginning of the session after gentle cleanse of my feet with warm towels, and it worked effectively, though it was a bit painful but that's the way i prefer. She checked in with me periodically to make sure I'm ok. Loved the usage of coconut oil, nutritious and healthy for the body! I'm very happy with the service, and I highly recommend it! read more

My go-to massage spa when in Calgary. I've been to Exige twice now and had the most amazing treatments. Both times I had a full body massages, but on my most recent visit I also included both a foot reflexology and scalp massage that were done simultaneously. I cannot tell you how amazing both of these were! As someone who gets a massage almost weekly, I have no hesitation to recommend the staff and services at Exige. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed and the staff make you feel very welcome. Highly recommend! I've been going to Exige medi spa for over two years now and not only is this the best massage I've ever had. But the place is so peaceful, warm, quiet, and the ladies are so professional. The Massage beds are super comfortable and the customer service is fantastic. You can either call, text or book online. I always text and they respond within minuets and always find room for either my mom and I or my boyfriend and I. I see Nui every time I go by choice because she is by far the best masseuse I've ever had. Love love love Thai massages! She evaluated my injuries and incorporated acupuncture, performed acupressure massage and suggested exercises and stretches to speed up my recovery. Wow. I have gone twice now, and love it. I have carpal tunnel, about to have surgery, and decided to try acupuncture on a whim. It has releived a lot of the pressure one hands and wrists. Combined with a reflexology foot massage, and I'm so relaxed. The space is lovely, clean, and peaceful. They are professional and treat you very well. You feel pampered, even with the acupuncture. I took an Hour for relaxation and half our reflexology and I cannot remember how long I was fall asleep as I really feel her hands soothe in to my nerves/ muscles, its really settle me down.. This is Calgary's hidden gem, tucked in China Town. Never have to worry about parking with a lot right outside the door and they pleasantly reimburse for parking fees. I was welcomed with warm wash cloth for my hands and add ons to complement my service. I always add it all, cupping, Thai yoga, hot stone, face massage. This leaves me blissed out!
