Stay far away from this particular Fido store!! We purchased a Samsung A52 FE 5G. Four days later,…read morethe volume key came loose. We brought it back to the store, and they told us we could leave it with them and it would take 2 weeks to repair, or we could take it directly to a Samsung store ourselves for repair. We drove all the way over to the Samsung store at Scarborough Town Centre, where they told us that we shouldn't get it repaired because based on the fact that it was in pristine condition except for the volume button, and it was a brand new phone, Fido should replace it for us, because clearly it was defective. They also pointed out that according to Samsung's warranty/policy, one could return a phone within 15 days of purchase. However, we had to return it to Fido because we bought it from Fido. We went to the Fido in Scarborough Town Centre, and they said that Fido also has a policy that you can return the phone within 15 days, and that they other store (at Eglinton Square) should have just taken it back. They said they would take it back if they could, but that we had to return it to the store from which we bought it (as per the contract). We went back to the Fido store at Eglinton Square. They said that we must have broken it because they gave it to us in pristine condition. They refused to take it back, and would only agree to send it in to be fixed, and that would take approximately 2 weeks. While there, we called Fido head office. Fido head office said that is ridiculous. They saw pictures of our phone and said clearly the phone is defective, and according to the contract, the Fido store is supposed to take it back. However, as it turns out, this "Fido Store" is not a "corporate fido store", but is an independent dealer, and so Fido head office couldn't force this independent dealer to take the phone back. However, they said they were very angry on our behalf. They said they already had flags on this store's file, and would add another one. and said they would apply a rebate on our next bill.
We had actually bought two phones (one for my spouse and one for myself). I ended up returning my phone to make a point. I then went back to the Fido store at Scarborough Town Centre. They had explained that they were a corporate Fido store (not an independent dealer). They had explained earlier that if it was them, they would have replaced the phone right there and then. I ended up getting a phone from this Fido store at an excellent deal, and had an excellent experience with them. I will be writing an excellent review on the Fido store at Scarborough Town Centre!
But stay far, far away from the Fido store at 1 Eglinton square!!! They do not honour their own contract. They refuse to acknowledge that a product can be defective. If anything is wrong with a product, they will always blame you, no matter what!!! Fido head office is not able to compel this store to honour their own contract because this "Fido Store" is actually an "Independent Dealer" (whose real name is "Future Wireless Communications").
