Chicken Chili with mandarin chicken salad! Delicious!
    B D.

If you're a fan of Macy's former restaurant "Lakeshore Grill" you'll be pleased with this! The social kitchen has a similar menu of midwestern comfort foods to the Lakeshore; popovers, pot pies, walleye dinners, wild rice soup, etc. The popovers are the star of the show and come out piping hot with a side of honey butter (only $2!). My favorite Lakeshore meal was their baked mac and cheese with mandarin spinach salad and I was sad to see they didn't bring that back, however their mandarin chicken salad with sesame dressing is very similar and is a new favorite of mine! I tried the white chicken chili and thought it was fantastic. My mom got the wild rice soup and thought mine was better. The concept is casual but the inside is very charming and pretty; you walk-up order at the bar and then get a table number and the food is brought to you. I didn't have an issue with that, the food came out very quickly! I look forward to trying more of the menu and purchasing some of that sesame salad dressing to go at their cafe (they come in half pints!)

    Buttermilk Chicken wrap...was very good!

With no idea what to expect at a restaurant connected to a department store, we found this to be a very pleasant surprise. The menu was relatively extensive, decor was upbeat and the food was good. My Buttermilk Chicken wrap was attractive (see photo), fresh and tasty. The "side" of seasoned fries was pretty skimpy but tasted good. Our order arrived quickly. Negatives were few. The "order/pay/take a number/help yourself to drinks" setup was, inspite of numerous signs, clearly confusing to a significant number of patrons. We didn't find the format to be overly cumbersome but the order taker/cashier (who was friendly) is apparently responsible for maintaining the beverage area so we and others had to wait to place our orders even after reviewing the menu. Our tabletop needed a deep cleaning as it had sticky film...a quick wipe with a damp rag just isn't getting it done. Prices were reasonable by the way and the Social Kitchen is an interesting alternative to the pricier options in and around the mall. We'll be back.

I love this place, it reminds me of the marketplace downtown Minneapolis. A lot of nostalgia eating here

He even talked us into coming back for brunch -- and honestly, we probably will. Cocktails? Delicious. Food? Even better. We started with the cauliflower, which was packed with flavor. I had the shrimp and scallops pasta -- buttery, rich, and both the shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. My husband got the steak, and wow... every single thing on that plate was amazing. The potatoes were the star, but truly, every bite bursted with flavor. Such a great time. We'll definitely be back!

Back to Pink Ivy. The service is quality. Our reserved table was ready when we arrived. The reservation policy may seem "strict", but if you can live with needing to provide a 24 cancel notice, I think you will find the service is good because the business doesn't get slammed by unexpected high demand. Wait person timing was off a tad when we first sat down. It felt a little rushed as we order our drinks and considered a starter. In fairness, a table of 16-20 followed us in so the wait person may have been doing us a favor. But it did influence my four star rating. Otherwise I'd have given 5 stars. Great care was taken when wait person checked for allergies. Not just asked, but noted and went to the kitchen to confirm. During the meal, flatware was changed out between courses, water refilled without disruption and the order arrived on time and all at one time. Our group enjoyed the halibut, salmon, and chicken bacon meatball items. Everyone loved their meals. A few of us ordered and split salads. We passed on desserts. The menu range may not be pages long, but all the usual suspects are there; salads, fish, poultry, beef, and pasta. And I know the chef rotates items on the menu. I encourage you to plan ahead. Reservations fill up days in advance. I think you'll find it worth the extra planning. PS my ratings are adjusted for the type of venue. These are not Michelin stars.

Located under the Residences at 1700 apartments, easy parking, good amount of seating inside and some outside. Had their special, the birriadilla (i think that's what it was called) but it came with 3, freshly made and hot. The flavor was fantastic! Would definitely order again. They have a chips and salsa bar so you can try out a bunch of different sauces/salsas. Enjoyed the chance to try out the different sauces, they were great! We finished with the churro bites. They come with a caramel dipping sauce. They were warm and delicious! Highly recommend ordering those to wrap your meal.

The interior was pleasant and supported the brand of Teresa in a sombrero and with long, flowing hair. Ordering was at the counter and the food was ready in an amazingly fast time. There were a number of items marked as unavailable and price and menu changes were marked on white tape on the wall menu. The food was very good and the Chicken Tortilla soup and the Churro Bites were exceptional. The bathroom was clean but not spotless, the trashcan lid was broken, and the sink was worn. It was easy to converse but there were only six diners in the inside seating. It is worth the visit if you like to dine on Mexican food but set your expectations as to the state of the facility.
