I'm changing my review. The food is good but honestly, good food can be ruined by the lack of service. So the first time we went, we had to wait 45 mins for a to go order that was placed and paid for way before picking it up. They were looking under the wrong name...FIRST NAME, the last name was correct but they couldn't use an ounce of common sense to put two and two together and figure the order under our last name was probably the correct one. No apologies. Nothing. Ok so we decided to give them another chance because we are forgiving like that. This time, another to go, we didn't get everything we ordered and paid for and they didn't even give us any sauces. This was a $70 order AND we tipped them ahead of time for a to go order. The bag should have been checked before he left the building but I'm not going to place the blame on my husband because it was them that didn't do their job. One job, dude. One job. I have been several times to this establishment. I have ordered the pulled pork, brisket, and salads. The Mac and cheese side is delicious. The pulled pork plate is well served although the last time it had significantly less meat than previous visits. Well for my birthday, we decided to try this place because we heard good things about it. I went inside to reserve a table for 14 people. The hostess said it was going to take around 10 minutes. They made us wait around 1 hour meanwhile a group of 10 people walked in and were seated immediately.I went to ask the hostess how long it was going to take and why a lot of groups of people were walking in a sitting before us. They kept saying that they still to wait for other people to finish eating. I was really upset and concerned that they were making us wait that long. So my family and I decided to go to another restaurant. As we were leaving we saw 6 tables all with 4 chairs side by side empty. I have no idea why they refused to seat us and let us dine in their establishment. I personally don't recommend this place. They need to hire more efficient workers. It almost made want to call the owner of the place to let them know how we were treated in their place of business. My only regret is that Yelp doesn't have a zero star rating because they earned it. read more

We have been regular customers since they opened. We regularly order for birthdays and holidays but we will not be back. I ordered a to-go order as usual and right away we noticed over 1/2 the food was missing. The very nice manager apologized and remade it for us. When we got home and opened the 5 containers we were missing almost 75% of what we ordered and paid for. There was one container that ONLY had 4 pieces of sliced turkey. We were missing sides and there was enough pulled pork for a single sandwich. The only container that was not deceiving was the one with the ribs, which were complete. It looked like the person who packed it was only told to use 5 containers, it didn't matter what or how much they put in them. Four of them were wrong. I called up there and it went straight to voicemail and then said it was not available to take a message. I went up there on Monday, closed. I went up there on Tuesday and there was a sign saying they were closed to work on their menu. I went back on Thursday and the very nice manager apologized but when she asked the owner to reimburse the order, he only would reimburse 25%. He said I waited 5 days to let them know. I explained to her that I had come in two times and called but when she informed him, he still said 25% only. We won't be back. read more

We went after Christmas and the food was excellent. The portions are large enough and we took food home for the next day. I am not a fan of leftovers but I ate my brisket the next day for lunch. Went to eat dinner in Monroe NC last night. This was a Friday night at 7pm. First bad indication was as soon as we sat down the waitress tells us they are out of pulled pork, smoked turkey, and smoked sausage. But we decided to stay because we had eaten at the one in Concord and it was good. My husband ordered Brunswick stew for an appetizer. When the server brought it, it had been spilled all over the edge and down the side of this wide rimmed bowl. He said it tasted the like a drippings bowl and was very thin, not at all like stew! For dinner the baked potato was slightly warm, like it had been sitting for a while. We also got the ribs, half with sauce and half dry rub. The run consisted of corse salt and pepper, not a BBQ rub at all. Needless to say we won't be back, and most recommend to not eat here. read more

Been 4-5 times. Service is always nice and friendly. I usually get the pulled pork sandwich with sides. I have had the BBQ baked potato which is very good. The portions are way too big and I always have for lunch the next day. I would give 5 stars but this evening the seasonings were off. We had the baked beans which they put jalapeños in ewww, the fries and the okra were way over salted. We felt like they have a great thing so why add to it? what a dinner we had at a catered wedding in Concord on Saturday. The food was outstanding! The pork bbq--wow!! The macaroni and cheese was delicious & cheesy and my favorite was the baked beans. The portions are enormous here. We've gone twice and had great service both times. The barbecue is not dry, and doesn't need to have any sauce added. That being said, their house sauces on the table are really great. Monday's are "free side" day, so you get two sides for the price of one. We did not know that and on our first visit, and got a bbq sandwich on Texas toast and two sides for $9 I believe. It was hard to finish all the food. A co-worker and I were traveling in Monroe on a business trip and we saw this place and thought it would be a good place to try. The food was absolutely delicious and you definitely got your money's worth in terms of quantity of food. We all went home with leftovers. I had the ribs, baked beans, deviled egg potato salad and cornbread and none of them disappointed. I definitely couldn't finish everything on my plate, but I made sure to take that cornbread home because it was too good to leave behind! My co-worker had the brisket sandwhich and thoroughly enjoyed it even though she had to eat it with a fork because there was so much meat on the sandwich that it couldn't be picked up without making a mess all over the place. I have had the smoke pit a few times. Normally I get the pulled pork sandwich or plate and it is always good. The Fried pickles are really yummy, especially with the ranch. Yesterday 3/8/19 my work picked up take out for the office and I decided to try a hamburger. I got the smoke pit burger with a side of Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese is BOMB! The Mac and cheese is made like the how the old ladies at church make their Mac and cheese! My hamburger was really bad and I was so disappointed, it was burnt like a hockey puck. I just tossed it, because it wasn't edible. Short story, stick with the pulled pork, brunt ends, and the ribs! All of those items I have had and really enjoyed. The potions are HUGE and the price is fair is for what you receive. The staff is friendly and kind. This was our third time visiting restaurant the food has always been good. However, the service is very lacking. First, we were seated by a host then we waited for a long time until we finally got the attention of a waitress who went and rounded up our waitress. I will be positive by saying at least the waitress did show up for work. Since we had been here before we know that you have to get your bar Order in first. After a lot of back and forth we finally ordered a margarita before our appetizer or meal. the rest of the table ordered water and ice tea. Our waitress could not keep up with refills and we had to get another waitress to help out. None of us ever got a refill from our server. Our food arrived and was warm, tasted good. Our waitress did not check on us so I had to get up and find my own utensils we had no more refills or contact with our waitress. Remember the bar order we placed, we never got it. I finally waved down our waitress so we could cancel the drink order. Again our waitress did not return to check on us so I had to wonder around and find my own take out containers. Again I had to wave down our waitress to get our check. Food is good service is not. We will order take out and hope they can get the order correct. read more
