Johnnys is a constant. Great pizza, great service. The white pizza is amazing. The cannoli are the best in town.

Delivery was pretty quick- Garlic knots were fabulous! My Stromboli was very good - needed a little more sausage . The Hot Hero with grilled Chicken was good but alas the Broccoli Rabe was not cooked enough and had to be removed. Chocolate Mousse was delicious. So were the Zeppole!! I was in town on business and was in the mood for some pizza. This was nothing special. It had decent reviews so I gave it a try. To be honest, I didn't care for the taste. The crust flavor was just ok and the sauce was marginal. It's not an actual sit down restaurant. You walk up and order, get your own drink, and find a seat. It was clean and seemed busy, but I wouldn't drive out of my way to eat here again. If I was with friends who wanted to eat here then I'd go again. My wife and I stopped in midday and split their two slice with soda special for $7.99. Good deal and nice to have slice options instead of a whole pie. The cashier was friendly and helpful, too. We liked the dough with its crispy crust (an added treat when rewarming a slice); however, we found the sauce uninspiring and began tossing on our slices extra cheese, seasonings, and garlic to amp it up. I would be willing to try them again especially since they have more items in which I'm interested. We usually order pizza once a week from Johnny Tomatoes, and they have always really. However, tonight they really dropped the ball. We always order a large plane pizza with a crispy crust. We went here on a whim to try something other than Pizza Hut. The pizza was good and the garlic knots too. The service well that left a lot to be desired. They take your order at the register and bring your food to the table. That's it for service. I was disappointed that they pass the surcharges of credit cards on to the customer. Our most recent experience at Johnny Tomaties left me with mixed feelings. I specifically asked not to over bake our pizza, but unfortunately it was over baked . The flavors are there but the execution fell short. We did add to our order a Meatball roll which was absolutely delicious and baked to perfection. We also indulged in Buffalo Chicken Calzone that every bite was enjoyed. Staff has always been pleasant and friendly. We were both thinking pizza to feed our children who had a blast at the pool. After hearing her talk about JT, I decided to make a run. When I arrived, everyone was happy, friendly, and they were playing great music! Loved the atmosphere. Even during a rush (they were super busy), I was greeted and welcomed quickly. This is our go to pizza place. Jonny's is a no frills pizza place, they have a few seats for those that want to eat in. However, they are known for takeout and you won't be disappointed. Coming from the north and going to college in the northeast you learn about great pizza. The Charlotte area comes up short on great pizza places. Johnnys is the only place we've found to be consistent each time we visit. Their tomato sauce has a sweet hint to it that I can't put my finger on. They take the time to make sure the pizzas aren't smothered in too much sauce. Highly recommend trying johnnys you'll be pleasantly surprised!! read more

I'm a pizza snob if you've ever met one. This place is one of my favorites. It also helps that it's local. I've tried a few slice selections as well as the calzone . The sauce was pleasant with a hint of sweetness. I'm from NY so I base my pizza on the crispness of the bread and the authentic taste of the sauce. The cheese to bread ratio checks all of my boxes. I've been here a few times since Pizza Palace moved out. While I do miss the lunch buffet from Pizza Palace, I do enjoy the "by the slice" options from the new management. The interior could be fixed up....it seems to be still falling apart from the Pizza Palace days on the inside (bathroom light switch falling out the wall, ceiling gross, etc) but this place deserves a chance. Stop in for a slice and keep them in business, the pizza is really good. Get the buffalo chicken slice and dip it in ranch. Yum. read more

Saw this place mentioned on a Facebook foodie page and thought we'd give it a try. It's a small shop with only a few tables. They mostly do takeout but since it's a drive for us we opted to eat in. Started off with mozzarella sticks and they were good. I ordered the clam pizza which has a garlic oil base. It was delicious . I'm still thinking about it 3 days later. My bf stuck with traditional sausage mushroom & pepper. The crust was crispy. Again another winner.
