If you LOVE pizza. If you come from anywhere I in the northeast (MA,CT,RI,NH,VT,ME) and even NY, this is the place to grab an authentic pizza from the northeast region. No other pizza shop can come close to it. 5 stars hands down not just because it's good pizza, but because the owner is from Massachusetts and knows how to make REAL ITALIAN Nee England style pizza read more

This is a secret treasure spot. I've now had almost the full range of food from their menu. Had the Subs, pizzas, and last week I stopped in and had a Calzone. It was so perfect, not too big, perfectly cooked. The fillings were great, and it tasted great. Their prices are very fair, considering everything must be costing them more. The staff is super friendly. Now, I am going to think about that Calzone daily!! read more

Great food at a great cost. I'm definitely referring and coming back to visit. Our pizza was actually so good that we didn't take a picture of it before we ate it all. I will give this place a 10 out of 10 read more

Best pizza in the area, by far. Have always had a great experience when ordering here!

Best pizza and wings, hands down. Same cost, or even less, than other places, and better all around. Awesome people!

Fantastic pizza, loaded with fresh toppings, delicious sauce, reasonably priced. No dining in, take out or delivery only.

Excellent pizza for the price, friendly and quick delivery we always get our pizza from there way better than bisonte

Hands down the best pizza in Charlotte. It's take out only and don't judge the food by the appearance. I'm never disappointed. I get the large supreme pizza and it's absolutely delicious! read more

Good pizza for an even better price. All of the items I have tried: pizza, pasta, calzones, breadsticks, etc. have been good. The prices are also cheaper than many fast food places (like the McDonalds across the street) for way better quality food. read more

Man that was a pretty good pizza at a good cost. Got a classic pepperoni. It was hot, good amount of melted cheese, crispy pepperoni and a nice thin dough. I'm overall impressed and will be back. I was hoping to see a pizza parlor vibe, maybe a couple cool arcade games.... No dice. Order delivery or take out, no seating and traffic kinda sucks with all the construction going on in the street. read more

Always love getting pizza here! Food is great and the customer service is top notch! Highly recommend!

Pizza was good but very greasy. Not as expensive as many of the pizza places that taste similar. No place to sit inside just a grab and go. read more

Pizza so good I couldn't wait until I got home LOL I'm from up north, just moved down here 3 months ago and have been crazing food like home. Let's start with the food. I drove past this place a few times and the location itself always gave me hole in the wall gas station snacks. But this evening I actually read the sign and realized it said NY Pizza. Don't let the outside fool you, the Pizza is the Best you'll get down here probably. Aside from the food, the owner or store manager, I'm not sure which, was so friendly and helpful. He's from up north too so we had a great conversation while taking my order and helping me divide what I wanted and the best deals. I mentioned that I like my pizza well done and he cooked it well! Then brought the pizza out to me while I was sitting in my car waiting! Talk about customer service. The one thing I will mention (bc it's suggested in reviews) is the ambiance, this place is not your normal lively pizza joint, but it's clean and has a sitting area. Get your food and go! read more

Live the pizza here ..! I'm going to need to try the hoagies and calzones.. Nice shop with great workers read more

Pizza is very good here. Just don't expect southern hospitality because you're not gonna get it. Go in and get your pie and get out or otherwise you might be offended. read more

Even when the food is good, the person who works in the kitchen (I think her name is Joanne) is super rude and disrespectful. This person needs to show some respect and decency. read more

this place is a true gem! pizzas are and the customer service is just as great as the pizza you will order & devour! i will definitely return to expand my horizons on your delicious menu! thank you! read more

Was disappointed with the whole process of getting a pizza. First the price was different on the website , and in the store it was some other price, tried to make owner aware of it that he should update his website all I got was rudeness. No I won't recommend this business. read more

Growing up in the north and going to school in New England you understand great pizza. Living here in the south and finding good pizza is a tough sell. If you have a NY in your name you should try to live up to is. I'm not 100% convinced they nailed it. First and foremost they don't use the traditional pizza oven deck, they use a Conveyor belt oven. I assume this is for a more consistent pizza. A NY pizza maker knows how to be consistent with a deck oven, the conveyor belt takes the art out of the pie making process. Overall the flavor was good, and they give you a hint of what northern pizza is about. Let's face it, it's the truest NY pizza but it's good. The slices are small, so if your looking for a traditional NY slices this isn't the place. I think if your looking for something quick and very affordable this is your go to place. read more

Great pizza, excellent hoagies and good prices. Good service too. We order from here frequently

Called in an order for delivery at 5:45 they called me at 7:10 asking if my order was supposed to be a delivery. Ummmm... obviously. I asked for delivery, the person who took my order got my address I don't understand the confusion. So they said they'd bring it right away. I ordered wings, mozzarella sticks, chicken parm sub and a spaghetti dinner. Everything was stark cold (probably because it sat for an hour while these people thought it was a pickup order) there was no blue cheese with my wings, no marinara with my mozzarella sticks, and no ranch with my daughters salad that came with her pasta (if you call iceberg lettuce and shredded carrots a salad). Will not be ordering from here again. read more

I am half Italian and as far as I'm concerned my mother's sauce was the best. Let me tell you. The calzone was to die for. The bread was crunchy and soft on the inside. The food was seasoned to perfection. I will definitely be going back. read more

This review is long over due. NYPE has become a household staple for our family in the last several months. Nothing really beats the price/quality ratio. You can always go to Dominos for the cheapest or you find a gourmet place for 5x the price. NYPE slides right into the middle of this dilemma. Great quality food for the price and love the "hometown" feel of the ownership and staff. Just crushed a Buffalo pizza poolside and it did not fail. Yet again! read more

Hands down the best calzones in Charlotte. Ordered two one for myself and a coworker and we couldn't stop talking about how good they were! Can't beat the Lunch special price as well. read more

I had passed this place hundreds of times and never stopped in. This time I did just to see if they sold by the slice. They did! We got a pepperoni slice and a calzone and it was DE-LI-CIOUS. Like holy crow, if I had known how good it was when I lived here I would have gotten it all the time!!! Plus the owners are so friendly and accommodating. I absolutely loved it and will be back the next time I am in town!!!! PS. Crust is amazing read more

New York Pizza Express doesn't look like a great place, but the food is delicious! Their spinach white pizza is my favorite pizza. It is takeout or delivery. read more

Excellent Pizza and pastas, always pretty quick or at least when they tell you it should be ready.

Comparing to pizza in the area (Mario's, bisontes) I would choose this place every time. Great pizza for a very reasonable price. The place is always busy so they must be doing something right. read more

I got a small pepperoni pizza. Better than dominos a good solid tasty pizza. Also came with a drink at a reasonable price. They were super friendly and diligent. Definitely will go back again read more

When we first moved to our new house, the painters who were working on the interior of the house raves about this place. So they had gotten menus and even fridge magnets. So our third night in the house, we gave it a whirl. We've never looked back. Their pizza is great - perhaps the best in the area. Delivery is quick, and once you're a regular - they treat you like a friend (which can be better than family since you pick your friends). The sandwiches and entrees are also great. But the pizza and mozzarella sticks are favorites for me and my son. So give them a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

First things first if you guys are anal about the Covid, this is your spot. They had a whole entire covering of the desk so you can just pull up to the window, pay for your pizza & leave. Despite the fact that we had a 99% chance survival rate I went in here because a friend referred me to this spot. I'm originally from New York/Connecticut & been looking for some NY style pizza. I will say this will def fit the description. The owners & cooks were very sweet & helpful. Stop playing games and support your locals. read more

Great pizza! Always cooked right and on time. If you want the bat think crust pizza this is the place to go.

Our go to pizza joint now. Always great, good prices, and typically has a good coupon to use!

I couldn't even finish my first slice when I was compelled to write a review! Before we left, the guys told us, "Hey! Your pizza should be very good!" They we're not joking! It's one of the best pizzas if not the best pizza I've ever had, and I've had pizza in New York State . We will definitely be coming back! read more

Good NYC pizza! We had the Hawaiian Punch pizza, which had bacon, ham, pineapple pieces and excellent crust. Great pizza! We ordered a large pizza because we like leftovers and we had eight large slices in the pie. If you double cut it would be like chain pizza size slices. We enjoyed the flavors and the crust was awesome. I lived in NYC and these were pizzas similar to the city. The location is off Potter Rd and right by the gas station. They have a few parking spots in front or behind the building. They either deliver or do takeout. read more

Hands down my family's favorite pizza in matthews area. Most authentic New York slice I've had in years.

Most awesome pizza. Just like NJ and NY. Delicious sauce, cheese and just the right quantity and ingredients. Sooo good.

Preordered a supreme pizza for Super Bowl evening. Was delivered right on time, hot and fresh. A terrific pizza with a crisp NY crust. Will order again and probably other things off the menu as well. Oh, the kid that delivered could not have been nicer. Clean cut, polite and up on the Covid rules. Great experience. read more
