Do you have at least 2 hours to spend at the dentist office?!! Do you like to randomly update your child's information for 40 minutes because they are always changing systems?!! Do you like to be ignored while at the counter because workers are too busy being on their phones?!!! Do you like to hear other screaming children who are also being disruptive adding to your own child's stress as well as your child's due to a room they have that they put 6 to 10 other children in at one time?!!! Well this is the Dentist office for you!!! I mean seriously they have a room that contains 10 chairs in a row like it's a nail salon or something, and act like it's an assembly line!!!! Sure most the hygienists are nice, as well as most the dentists. But this place feels like a 3rd world office, and their front desk staff are more worried about their personal lives than their job. Staff is RUDE they don't care about anything but MONEY !! also they don't know how to do anything !! if you have an issue with insurance they don't know how to handle it also when they make a mistake with the insurance they blamed me ! I thought it was done with then a lady called me and bullied me for payment and said that it was my fault . for 1 am not the insurance company I am a parent ! the last visit they told me that my insurance told them that My had pay 38.00 so I paid that at the visit now my daughter had an appointment for tomorrow they texted me telling me I needed to pay 207 tomorrow but I told her that I saw on our benefits that filling's were covered she insisted that was not the case. so now they want 452.00 all together I said no way then she called a little bit ago depending payment and she doesn't even have an appointment for Tomorrow. I don't even know where to begin. Let's start with the front office. The staff is extremely rude. They cut you off when you're trying to get information and they've even hung up on me before. My daughter had an appointment back in December and they told me they were referring her to another place and said that it would be about a week before I heard back. So I called today, a month and a half later, because I haven't heard from this place that I was being referred to. Whoever I talk to was rude once again, however, she did give me the phone number. I called this place and they had no record of her paperwork ever being sent over. So I called back The Smile Spot and told them that the place didn't have a record of my daughters referral. Rudeness ensues. Again. Whoever answered the phone looked and wasn't really sure where they referred her. She gave me three different places that the referral could have been at. Of course, when I called all three of these places, nobody had a record of her referral. Can't imagine. We'll see where the referral ends up. Next step, the dentists. The first time we had an appointment here, the doctor was great. Dr. Anderson was kind and so sweet to my kids. But we never saw him again. The last couple of times we've been there we have seen the same doctor and he's a real piece of work. My daughter spent the first three years of her life in an orphanage in a Third World country. I gave him this information, but he proceeded to tell me that it was my fault that her teeth were bad. He said that I didn't make her brush and it look like I fed her nothing but candy and junk food. he kind of threw up his hands and just said there's really nothing I can do anymore. It took everything I had not to punch this guy in the face. My daughter left that appointment crying because she thought it was her fault. Also, the cleaning only took about 10 minutes. Needless to say, we will never be back. If I could give them zero stars I would. Don't ever step foot in this place. read more

They made us make a virtual appointment just to come in and tell us that we need to make a consult appointment. They are rude, and organized. Appointments are two and three months out. I can not wait for them refund our money or finish the treatment plan. I would not ever recommend this place for long term dental plans. Kids should be a Priority!!!!!!!! read more

The Smile Spot in Springfield has an excellent care team and Orthodontist on the Orthodontist side of the practice, but their scheduling is absolutely absurd. When we had the consult for our children (more than one) to have braces we were assured that they would be able to be taken care of outside of school hours unless of course there was an emergency. I know those spots fill up quickly, so I asked about it. Since putting braces on our children, every appointment is grossly behind schedule. If it's supposed to be a two week follow up, it's four. If it's supposed to be a two month follow up, it's four. Add to this the "standard" hour long wait time for every appointment and you see why we are so frustrated. When we asked if we could schedule differently to avoid that long of a wait time (it's almost always no less than an hour) we were told it's standard and there is no avoiding it. I don't feel like that is acceptable at all. To top things off, no Orthodontists in Springfield will accept a transferring patient "because they don't want to cause bad blood." I cannot express enough how aggravating the entire situation is and ever though there are 4 locations, their website offers no place for feedback whatsoever. The two stars are for the hygienists and Orthodontist on the braces team. If I could rate them separately they would have 5 stars and the office practice would have zero. read more

This review is of the orthodontic care. They are in Springfield every other week, so that means they overbook when they are here. Appointments are difficult to get because of their every other week schedule. Their texting notification system only works for you to say yes, I can make the appointment. Because of their strange schedule, expect to wear braces longer than you would elsewhere. The waiting room is always packed. The parking is full, so you're expected to park in the grass near their lot. read more

I canceled my daughter's appointment due to credibility and trust of the staff. It was unclear if my daughter's Tricare was In-Network, neither did the staff, therefore, they need to call to confirm. I was promised a call after 2 business days. After the 3rd day, I called and still were too busy and understaffed to provide me an answer. Fourth and Fifth day same response. It was 3 business days until her appointment. If the staff was going to provide this level of customer service then they did not need to take on new patients. I was worried about the level of quality my daughter would get if I could not get an answer supplemented in a timely manor. read more

If I could I would give them zero stars!! They bullied me into getting braces for my daughter saying if she didn't get them her new adult teeth would push out existing adult teeth which another dentist said wasn't true, they took the long way around to make sure the braces stayed on for a long time, gave a certain price for "phase 1" but then "phase 2" didn't have an upfront cost but would depend on "how long they're needed", then charged a $200 fee to get them taken off "early"! When asked if it would cost nothing to take them off when the ortho said it was time she said no! So there's a fee regardless just to get them off! They are incompetent when it comes to billing and insurance and have been screwing us over from day one! Most appointments we also ended up having to wait up to an hour past appointment time to get in! They are HORRIBLE!!! read more

WARNING: DO NOT GO HERE FOR BRACES OR DENTISTRY This business is a scam. I will be reporting them for the thousands and thousands of dollars they have billed my family, ALL without warrant (according to dentists/orthodontists we've seen since), they will not return my calls, refuse to send me a bill, give me false billing phone numbers, and meanwhile threaten to send me to collections over money they have NEVER tried to contact me about, have never billed me for, and still refuse to return my phone calls or send me a bill for. They have supposedly gotten rid of the employee who got me into this mess in the first place and KEEP saying that as though this makes it right, but it doesn't. I'm still about to be sent to collections for THEIR errors (over a series of months, I don't care if it's an ex-employee or not). The office lady who I've talked to several times is the most unprofessional, accusational b-word I've ever had the displeasure of trying to work with, and she doesn't even know the details or what she's talking about. I will be finding a way to report this, because not only are these charges unfounded, but the number they give me for resolving it keeps disconnecting without putting me through to anyone. So smile spot CONTINUES to have ZERO desire to help me sort this out and it's because they know the ex-employee is at fault and still want to be able to charge me for her mistakes. I have no phone number to call, no bill in my hands, no reasonable office staff to work through, and am being told factually false things about what happened because the current staff wasn't there and has no idea. ALL I'VE WANTED TO DO FOR SEVEN MONTHS IS PAY MY BILL!!! I have been told they will have an internal meeting to assess the situation and help me come up with a plan, but then a month later when I call to find out if they've had the meeting, I'm told they don't have meetings about financial issues and there was never going to be a meeting. This is the most absurd thing I've ever heard of and have never left a nasty review, much less tried to find a way to report any company for any perceived fault. This is unreal. Also, if they tell you you owe a grand total of $900 for a procedure for your child at the hospital and tell you that you owe that full amount up front, and you pay that full $900 up front, you will later get a surprise $6000 bill from the hospital as well and hundreds of additional dollars in a bill from the general anesthesiologist, none of which they tell you up front. I was told the $900 was the grand total. LIE (by ex-employee). Under no circumstances would I have agreed to a $9000+ dental procedure that (again) I later found out was unnecessary. Meanwhile, if your kid has a braces appointment, you can arrive and find out they've cancelled it. No phone call, no nothing. Just DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. It's truly a waking nightmare. PS, TWO orthodontists have since said one of my sons didn't truly need braces, yet here I am owing thousands for it, apparently, even though I cancelled him as a patient months and months ago, but they continued to bill us (without billing us) and wracking up late charges. All during these months I put in a phone call, they take down my number, and no one calls back. I had NO IDEA I owed all this money. And yet the lady treats me like an idiot when THEY are the ones refusing to bill/call me?! By the way, when I removed my kids as patients months ago, the ex-employee told me NOT to pay the few hundred on my account until someone from another department calls me. So I didn't. And now I owe almost two grand when I never heard from them?! Absolutely absurd. You can't make this stuff up. read more

My family recently changed insurances, and needed to find a new pediatric dentist. We heard about The Smile Spot from a fellow parent. We took our son, and we were SO impressed. The staff was fantastic, and the doctor was terrific. They spent a ton of time with our son, and really made him feel welcome. Our boy does not have a great history of letting dentists look in his mouth due to some work done when he was younger. The Smile Spot did an amazing job showing great patience, and really made the process more than simply a checkup, it was a fun game. Overall, I highly recommend the Smile Spot. read more

Inconsiderate and unfair. My daughter had an appointment at 4:30, and our name was called at 4:55. I still had a few more papers to sign, which I completed at 4:57. A lady came back at 5:05 and told me I'd have to reschedule on another day because it was after 5:00. How strange that they can run 25 minutes late, but then make it my fault that I don't get in til after 5:00. read more

The orthodontists, dentists, and assistants are all great with the kids. The scheduling system and possibly front office staff need some help and are the worst part of the experience. I've waited over an hour for scheduled appointments then waited in the room another 30 minutes once taken back. I've pulled the kids out of school for appointments they didn't have in the system thankfully I had an appointment card. I've called in need of bracket or wire repairs and been scheduled for 2 weeks out. Not impressed with that part. I've learned to always call and double check appointments and push for quicker appointments when my kids need repairs. The prices are great and everyone is nice, just a little chaotic. read more

I would give 0 stars for this but unfortunately it sont let me. I have. Even taking my daughter here for her braces and dentist work. To be honest the only saving grace of this review is that most of the techs, who do the ortho work have been super sweet. My issue is with the billing and orthodontist. I am a member of the smile plan, I pay that monthly. In doing so I forgot to pay the office part. I realized this only when calling regarding her upcoming appointment. As soon as she told me this I arranged to pay it right after getting my check. This would be after my daughters appointment so I verified that would be fine she could come for her appointment and I would pay that same day by 4. My son went and got my daughter from school and took her to the appointment. I received a call from a staff member in billing. She stated they couldnt see her until it was paid. I explained that I called to verify she could be seen and that payment would be made today by 4. She put me on hold, I'm assuming taking to the orthodontist. She came back on and said again he wouldnt see her. I asked her what about the girl who set it up for me and she said that person was let go yesterday. Clearly they don't care about their customers because they would not honor. I finally just had my son use his cc so she could be seen. I however may decide that she will finish her treatment elsewhere since they clearly dont stand behind what they say. I asked for the orthodontist to call me back. We will see if that happens and I will make my decision after that. Oh and also I had an issue with the office several months ago when they violated the HIPA law. I called then and told them they are not to give any information to anyone but me. Had I not called and verified the payment arrangement and that she would be able to come i wouldnt be upset. I would have understood that. But to call and verify she would be seen, have my son go check her out of school, driver her across town only to get there and have the very issue I called to avoid having happen, then have them not even stand behind what their office staff arranged is infuriating. We have been to The Smile Spot a couple of times now and at first it wasn't too bad but the last straw was today when we had to wait over an hour after our scheduled appointment to be seen. When I asked the front desk staff they were too busy gossiping and chatting to help me and didn't seem to enthusiastic about finding out why we were waiting so long. When we were called back the dental assistant was very cold and not helpful with my fussy children that had been waiting for a long time. After she got us to a room she was not kid friendly and then left us back there for 30 minutes until I was about to leave the dentist finally came in and rushed through us and we were then rushed out. This was only part of our bad experience with them and we will NOT begin going back and we will definitely let others know to avoid them. read more

Thank the lord for this dentist office!! After having a bad experience at American Dental Solutions, my kids were a little scared to come to the dentist. The assistant's and the Dr. were AMAZING. They talked to and calmed down my kids so quickly, I would recommend them over and over. They have my 4 year old happy about getting a filling. She is NOT SCARED AT ALL. They explained it all in such kid friendly ways, and do WAY more with the patients then any children's dentist I have heard of. I will continue to bring my kids here, and recommend you do the same! We were in the waiting areas for awhile, but I am totally fine with that because they take the time to care for each and every child. Mine are 4 year old twins and a 2 year old. read more

Dr Pruitt was my dentist when I was a kid and when i found out he was taking new patients i jumped right in and had all 3 of my daughters seeing him. After dealing with Jordan valley this was a godsend. I have seen some reviews saying the staff was rude but I've always had great experiences with everyone there and even though they had a call service if i told them I would be available at a certain time they would contact me during that time frame. He is great with kids and treats them really well like they're best friends and jokes around with them. He is still professional with the parents but not in a cold manner and talks in depth to you about what's going on. I was sad to hear he retired. read more

My son was referred to this dentist. My son has Anxiety Disorder, ADHD and ODD so he is not very comfortable around people especially adults. However, the staff at Smile Spot was very patient and calm with my son. Very caring and understanding! Love this place so much that I made my daughter an appointment!!! read more
